i did one with my bb, i used a small bump in 2nd, and stabbed the gas, leaning out over the back and then applying lift to the handlebars

i got a rancher and the only way i could wheelie is after getting the wheels to spin then let off the front brake and it wheelies a little but u could get it up there, and has anyone ever gone to far and ontot he rear rack? does it jsut stop there till u push it back down? or will it tip back, and if so will it tip back quickly or slowly enough to possibly jump off and stop it?

It doesn't hit the rack unless your too slow hitting the brakes. I never did any damage forcing a quadmaster to wheelie did smack the rack once. Scared me more than anything else just don't try it without your helmet. Seen people get scared and jump off just to watch it come back down on the wheels and roll forward a short ways. Just hit the rear brakes if the height of the wheelie scares you and it slams back down. Doesn't matter that it weighs 600 pounds half the guys who have Prairie 650 or 700s do wheelies. I had to do one the day I test drove mine in the parking lot of the dealership. Gave the salesman a heart attack but he got over it. If it is something you want to do just use your head. The part where you fall and have to really work at it is when you are trying to ride the wheelie for any distance. That is the part I'm still working on is finding the balance point to ride it for more than just 30 feet or so. I will have it before this summer is done though.

20mph roll off and a stab of the throttle with the Prairie700... Easy wheelies....

We have one too its a 1985 big red . I can get it to 3rd gear before the front drops.

you have to get it rolling very slow (to let te clutch engage) then stab the throttle, pull hard up on the bars at same time while having your body weight back as far as possible. Try standing on the back rack and doing it first to get a feel for it. I can do a wheelie in reverse for least 50'. The easiest way to do this on my prairie is to adjust the diff lock so it is always engaged without having to pull the lever. Wish it had a switch like the grizz. Remember to keep your right foot on the ready at the brake in case things start to sketchy when doing a foward wheelie. With my prairie in low range I can do a wheelie forever using a combination of throttle and brake. once you figure out the balance point it is very easy. hardest part is getting over the reaction that your gonna roll. get r dun

Got no problem getting mine in the air, just not so good at keeping it there.

i dont know about the brakes but yeah in order to learn how to wheelie good u r going to have to tkae a couple of falls.

Hold the brake in while throttle also but dont let the tires spin--just a high idle then kneel on the bacl with one foot --- let off the brake and hit the gas hard leaning all your wait to the back --- worked for me on my 350 tb auto

It will hit the rack first

Good luck man, I never even thought of trying to do a wheelie on my utility. The 400 EX sure, but this 600 lb beast can stay on all fours ! ! !

Something about 600 pounds coming back on top of you (or me) just doesn't sound to appealing to me. Come to think of it...neither do the dollar signs in my head when it comes time to fix what breaks, on you AND the bike, when it goes over! BR>
I guess I'm just getting old and like to keep the shiny side UP!

LOL!! Yeah, then bend the rack and tear off the rack mounts...then it will crack up the plastic right before it tears up your seat and will then progress to your handlebars and bend them and tear off the hydraulic resevoir and ruin all your switches.......you get the idea where I'm going!! Naw, it won't be that bad.....would it? BR>

I'm sort of a beginner rider... I used to have an ATV when I was a kid, but that was a hot minute ago. I now have an Eiger 400 4X4 Automatic ... Can you do a wheelie on this automatic utility?

Does that mess up the brakes? I'll probably bust my ass a couple times, huh?

Yeah this mammajamma is 590 pounds dry!

Thanks for all the input guys.

Not that this has anything to do with wheelying a ute quad, but I have a 86 250es big red that the front wheel isn't on the ground that much. Saves on replacing the front tire.

Try coming out of a ditch or hitting a bump to get a lift on the front end. Also you may want to use 2nd gear to allow for more revs. I can ride a nice wheelie with a honda 300 4x4 if I use a bump to get it up. Even though it is 500 + lbs it is easy to control on two wheels. I have done the same thing on a 400 foreman as well.
