I use chains religiously. I have a 95 Honda Fourtrax 4x4 and I use them on the back expecially when pushing snow. They keep the back end from sliding around when you are pushing heavy snow. You probably won't need them on the front, but as long as you are going slow to moderate speed they will be fine.
I also put them on my Raptor although I have to take the heel guards off so the chains won't slap. They are awsome for going through deep snow. I can even get some air off the snow drifts.
Denis Kirk has good light weight V-bar chains and they are very inexpensive.
Do it, you will never regret it.

I plan on doing some ice fishing this year and I was going to put chains on my 450 Kodiak but someone told me its not good to put chains on the front tires because if they come off they can really mess up the quad (steering). Who here runs chains on all four wheels??
Do I need them on the front?? I also plow with this quad.
Thanks for the info...

Kinda depends on the situation and what you are doing. Sometimes just in the back works fine. What if they made studded tires, wouldn't that be funny? Not sure how that would work huh? Don't think you'd want to ride on the lake would ya???????

I had an 19?? Honda Fourtrax 350 4x4. I had chains on all four tires and never had a problem. The difference was night and day for winter traction.
