The Polaris ATP 500 4x4 sounds perfect for the job. A 1,225LB towing capacity with a payload of 400 lbs in the dump box. And it will still fit in the back of his truck

Which model?

If your looking for something just for work.It would be the polaris ranger them things will haul alomst what a 1/2 truck will.If you want something with alittle sport to it then the new rhino would be a good pick. The best thing about the ranger is being able to carry 3 grown men in it...

what do you guys think is the best strictly utility machine. a friend is looking for something for ice-fishing(so it has to have a bucket) and something that can pull as much as possible. Doesn't matter how many wheels it has 4 or 6 he doesn't care. What machine has the highest towing and payload? Doesn't want a sport/utility has to have a cargo box. any suggestions??

thanks for all the input, he settled on the polaris because of the seating. appreciate it guys

Bombardier Traxter XT is the best atv for work there is on the market. Theres no question about it. Its built on the bulletproof traxter which has been known to pull many a hummer out of the desert Its got a great 3 year bumber to bumber warrenty which cant be beat plus that machine is made by the best ATV manufacturer there is. If i was looking for one that's the one I would get.

Don't forget about the often-overlooked 600 too. It's got the same ratings as the 700, and costs less.

I'd have to call "bolsh" on that one.

Hahahhhh, OK then, I'll agree to that one.img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

The Arctic Cat MRP models have an ice fishing package you can buy, complete with a pop-up ice fishing tent thing and all the ice fishing goodies you need. They show it on their web site. It looks pretty cool!

EDIT: Here it is, http://www.arcticcat.com/atvs/index.asp click on the MRP models button on the bottom middle.

Best Utility for work? Honda, period.

I would check out the new Yamaha Rhino. It is a side by side similar to the mule but this thing is different than all the current side by sides out and is getting rave reviews.

If your looking for a purely utility machine that you can probably get a deal on get the Bombardier Traxter XT, or the Quest Xt. THese things are designed for work and there not to bad for a little fun riding.
