I have an 01 Kodiak 400 4x4 and have somehow managed to break BOTH front shocks this past weekend at the deer lease. The shocks are broke at the very bottom of the shock housing where it mounts to the A-Arm....it appears the weld broke on eack bottom attachent which allowed all the oil to drain out. I wasn't doing anything extreme and can't understand how it happened. The only explanation I can come up with is that it's a factory defect???
Anyone else experience this??? Do you think it's worth a call to Yamaha? I've already ordered new front shocks @ $138.01 EACH!!!!!

I thought I saw another thread on this forum or another, where a guys kodiak was leaning to the side, took it to the dealer and they found it was a bad shock weld if Im not mistaken, cant remember for sure though...Big time Brain fart today. Id call Yamaha and %$#@!.
