Well it's not just the Foreman. Basically 80% of Hondas are built like an OX!

I have been more than happy with all my Honda's and am going to buy a gearless difflock here shortly for my 450ES and then we will see how it compares with my buddies Kodiak 450 with the same tires as me.

I will be buying a large displacement, 4x4 utility ATV late this winter or early spring and would consider the Honda but the lack of a fully locking front diff and smaller displacement engines seem to bring them up a little short which is really a shame. Their new tranny seems to be about the best one on the market.
Yeah, the Foreman was the other quad I was considering but went w/ my Kodiak 450 instead. You can always add a front locker for a few hundred bucks, so that's not really such a big deal. The 4wd systems on the Kodiak and Grizzly are unbeatable though - 2wd, 4wd, and 4wd locked.
