Big Grizzly Features In a Downsized Package
You don't need to be the biggest bear in the woods to be one of the toughest.
Have a look at the Kodiak 450, American Hunter magazine's ATV of the Year. It packs many Grizzly 660 features under a two inch-lower seat, in a slightly shorter chassis - in a 50-pounds lighter, highly maneuverable package.
Otherwise, you're looking at a hairy bear indeed, powered by a brawny liquid-cooled engine working through our exclusive three-way On-Command® 4WD system and Ultramatic® transmission - the same transfer case and transmission we use in the Grizzly 660, which is the most advanced drive train in the industry.

grizzly 600 (2000) dont have a diff lock
Posted by: AKChappy
My main question deals with the front end. Has anyone attempted to put a Grizzley front differential (with diff lock) into a Kodiak. I know where a 2000 Grizzley is, or should be, quite banged up and insurance has paid off on it.
I would like to know if it is worth the time and effort to retrieve it for pieces. We're not talking anything cheap, 8 hour drive towing a trailer, 30 miles off the road on somewhat rough terrain. That is one way, then getting it out.
I would bring in some battery operated saw-alls and take it apart to get the other parts.
I love my 2000 Kodiak, I just want the diff lock and don't want to buy a new quad to get it.

I think you just made my day, month, maybe even year. Now I just need to let it snow enough to get the snowmachine back to it. Thanks for the info Camo!!
BTW,
Where in Ohio, I am originally from the Galion area. Northcentral, up by Mansfield and Bucyrus.

hmmmm, good point. I will have to ask him what year it was. If it is a 2000, you are correct.

That's cool, haymaker. It is amazing how widespread these forums go.
BTW,
I talked to the guy who wrecked the Grizzley. I was wrong, it is a 2002 and definitely had front diff lock. Whew, now it might be worthwhile.
Won't be long before we get the sled out. We got 4 inches of snow here (low elevation) and prediction is for 4-8 more by morning............
Woohoooooo!!
