As much as I like the P650/700's, an IRS quad will kill it in the mud. Ground clearance rules. Until we get a peak at the new King Quad, I'd bet that the AC650 will be a hard to beat mud beast.

Not made anymore but the old Suzuki KingQuad 300 4X4 was awesome in the mud with some good tires. But now days the Praire 700 would be my choice.

I love my Grizzly and still think it is the best ALL AROUND bike out, but for pure mud, the Sp700 with 28" outlaws and a lift is hard, if not impossible, to beat in the mud. It is a monster. go to climb ATV's site and look at some of their monster bikes! www.climbatv.com

Since the AC put the v-twin in with a independent susp. I would say the AC would be a hard one to beat!

Wait till Suzuki comes out with that 700cc EFI with IRS, if they do. I hope they do! But who knows, kinda seems to much like a dream.

At the Missouri state fair last summer they had a mud run and with over 30 quads in 4 out of the top wre all polaris sportsmans.

NO question the sportsman 700 twin is BY FAR the best mudder

cool pics specially the 700 with outlaws

what the best muder out there? my cousin is interested in a 4x4 quad

no question in my mind. the ac 650 it has the prairie 650 motor, 13 inches of ground clearence(stock) and great stock tires. If he dosent have that kind of money look at any of the smaller ac models. but if i was looking for a 4x4 right now i would wait for the new King Quad coming next summer.

GROUND CLEARANCE=AWESOME MUDDING!! check out the Arctic Cats. My floorboards sit over 17"s above the ground, and that is with no lift, just 27 inch tires (should have went with the 28's), can't wait until i get the lift. Only problem with arctic cat is that it is heavy so if you are a smaller person you might have troiuble lifting by yourself! otherwise check them out. remember every quad has its advantages!

EVERYONE KNOWS GROUND CLEARANCE AND WEIGHT IS BEST FOR THE MUD ID HAVE TO SAY THE 700 SPORTSMAN. BUT FOR EVERYTHING ELSE ID HAVE WHAT I GOT. DONT WANT THOSE POLARIS PROBLEMS BUT ID ALSO LOOK AT THE ARTIC CAT 650. THATS THE WAY TO GO KAWI POWER ON IRS

For being stock, you can't beat a Sportsman with the Good Year Rawhides. 11.25" of ground clearance and IRS.

It Kicks arse!!!img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

i agree with bigbear, its hard to beat the sportsman

Well Fellas somewhere in there you have to include the Honda Foreman 450 with 26" tires. I know it's only 7.7" of ground clearance but almost 9" with 26's. I have seen some impressive things in the mudbogs with these, it ain't fast or alot of ground clearance but it pulls through mud and slop with the best of them with a good set of mudders and at around $5200 it ain't bad!!
Most articles you read on them they call it a 50mph Tractor it does what you want it to do and goes where you want it to go with no problems it's just a little slow but reliable. It has a SUPER low first for LOTS of torque and also has selectible 2 wheel to 4 wheel drive.
Check it out
