I want to put a pipe, and K&N air filter on my 03 vinson. I know HMF makes a slip on for it, but was wondering if ther was any other brands out there that make one. Also I would like to heear what any body thinks of them. I have also been looking for a K&N air filter for it with out any luck. I know K&N makes one for the vinson but cant find one any where. Any help would welcome.

Recently put a FMF Powercore IV pipe on my Kodiak. The increase in the power is very noticeable. It is louder than my old stock system, but the sound is great. Low end torque is much improved and no loss of power on topend. It was actually one from a 400 EX but I fabricated it to work on the Kodiak, nice fit and the price was right , FREE!!! BTW I use a Twin Air filter and it works well, and much cheaper than the K&N.

Hey suzuki4ever,
I have the same question. I would like to know which pipe does best on my 06 vinson Auto.
I do know that there are many manfacturers of pipes for our bikes. Not only HMF but Yoshimura,
LRD, FMF and I think a couple others. I can't seem to find a comparison in magazines or on
the net anywhere.

I'm not interested in mud riding with big tires but I would like to get more zip out of my Vinny
for agressive trail riding or GNCC type stuff. If you've learned anything outside this thread
please share it with me.

Thanks,
Motomonkey76

Thanks,
My local Dealer and riding buddy suggested the FMF because it's mechanical with no packing...which
equals no maintenance. However, It's around 300 Clams I believe for my Vinson so I'll prob go with
the HMF Utility w/quiet core since it's cheaper (about 220 Clams). I'm also considering other mods
including air filter, Port and Polish and Cam by Webcams. I know this is off subject but what are your
opinions on these?
