I have the warn 424 unit on my '98 Forman S, I installed it my self and am very pleased with its performance. Installation is easy, a one man job and a couple hours if you really, really take your time. Directions are fantastic with lots of great pictures. I highly reccomend it to anyone with a full time 4x4 atv.

They already have this kit for the formans, I doubt you'll see them make an electronic kit like Honda uses. I prefer to keep it machanical anyway, much easier to fix in the bush then replacing worn electrical components. It s a great set up really, because you pull out for 2wd, and push in for 4wd, and its spring loaded. This means that if the cable fails, it will lock back in 4wd, so no matter where you are, you can always make it home!!!!

Rubicon 500 4x4 01-03

TRX400 4x4 98-02
TRX450 S/ES 4x4 98-01

Skidder, My RM catalog didn't list the 424 for those quads. It would be good to have a 424 on the Wolverine.

Doesn't Warn only make 424's for Honda's?

I went to that site and saw that they are coming out with the 424 for those two on July 10. I guess the 424 is out for the Wolv. 2000-2003 already. I'd like to know how the 424 effects the Wolv. handling.

i cant speak for the warn 424 owners but i can say that my un-locker made a huge difference in my Rubicon. it will kick the rear out on command and roost mud from here to hell. the only drawback i found is the breaking. on a 4 wheel drive all 4 wheels are locked together so when you press the back brakes it acts on all 4 wheels, same with the front brakes. in 2 wd its like a sport quad, mash the front and the front slows you down, mash the back and the rear locks up and slides. it is not to big a job to install for 1 man. you have to take the front differential loose and slide it foward so you can get the drive shaft out. then you have to route your cable and find a place to mount it. hope this helps

Greetings fellow mud beings
Has anyone any experience with how to install the Warn 424 select? Is it a one man job? Once installed did your quad handle alot better? What make and model of atv did you put it on? Was it better on gas?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have the 424 on my '01 wolv. I love it. It really makes a noticeable difference in the ease of turning the wheels and in the turning radius. It also makes it much sportier. I think it is a must for any full time 4x4.

I had a dealer put on my Warn 424 Switch and I LOVE it!
Only problem is it is leaking gear oil from it. I took it for a weekend trip in lots of mud and water.
Anyone else have problems with their 424 Switch??
Thanks in advance

My machine is just as fast in 2x4 as in 4x4, if not a bit faster...... and a whole lot funner.

any ideas if or when they will make a lock out setup for the 4x4 like the factory formans ? the switch on the handlebar for 2x4 or 4x4 would be a neat aftermarket setup BR>

Now that warn has come out with the 424 I know I should have bought a 4x4 rancher instead. I didn't want all time 4-wheel drive but now I'm regreting it. Does full time 4x4 slow you down compared to a 2x4? I think it should but some 4x4's go the same speed in and out of 4-wheel drive right? like sportsmans.

I can tell u they are the best! my freind got one for his rubicon and soon got 3 mpg. better MUCH better tire wear on front and his steering effort was cut in half he's had it in for a year now and no problems ever well worth the money and he cant live without it! he got it @ montanajacks.com and said that they will beat any other price on Warn products hands down anywhere in the world somethin about a price guarantee so i guess hes sold all the way around!
