This may have already been beat to death, but, I've narrowed my utility purchase down to the grizzly or rincon. The prarrie is out because we have no repuatable dealer close and just about every time we go on a big ride the polaris gets water or mud in the wiring and you have to let it dry out. I already have some experience on a grizzly. It has itp rims with bear claws and impresses the #$@! out of me hill climbing, trail riding, creek riding, mudn and the all out, hard core, road tripping! The irs takes getting used to, but, the oversized bear claws help make it feel more stable. I have never ridn a rincon. I am a honda man at heart and would like some input on this machine. Does it handle as good as the grizzly, how does the power compare, is the ride as comfortable, pros, cons, ect. I also like the look of a grizz better than the rincon.

Yes, I thought that the transmission without the belt would be better too. I've seen many polarisis getn towed because the belt got wet. Still yet to see the griz get towed. I've been checking some other threads out and the grizzly, so far, is winning in my book. Anyone that doesn't agree tell me your reason why. I've rode sport bikes all my life and I'm just now slowly graduating to the utility world cause my bones don't mend like they used to. So let me know your opinions and experiences with these machines. Its greatly appreciated.

Bought a grizzly. Got the 2500# winch ordered and itp rims. Will decide on tires when I go riding tomorro. Thanks for the input.

I have a Grizzly and my boss has a Rincon. We go riding all the time. My Grizz is faster, larger in size and more stable (thanks to the ATRs on C-Series). His Rincon is very smooth, but thats about it. I don't care for the way his transmittion shifts, because sometimes it doesn't shift when he wants it to. I love my locker on the front diff. and I think the Grizzly's suspension is up to par with the Rincons. There really are no thrills with the Rincon, but it is a good machine. His isn't a year old and he has 1400 miles on it. I haven't had any problems with my Grizz, but I have got wheels, tires, side panel mod., and K&N filter. Ride them both, and if the deciding factor is that the Grizz is tippy and the Rincon is not get the ITP C-series wheels with Holeshot ATR tires and you will not be dissapointed. Thats just what I know.

I would go with the rincon because it has a real automatic transmission instead of a belt drive.

I too have a Grizz and am completely happy with it. To cure the "tippy" feeling I put wider tires and wheel spacers on it. I'm sure the Rincon is a fine machine, but it's down on power from the Grizz and I'm not too sure about that new tranny they're using. The auto on the Grizz is tried and true. I've never had problems with water getting into my belt housing, and if you do simply pull the drain plug and you're off and running. Honda builds reliable machines for the most part, but they just don't seem to have a "personality" to them in my opinion. After having my Grizz, I wouldn't have a 4x4 atv without a locking front diff. I've gotten out of nasty stuff many times solely because of the front locker on my Grizz. Even if you do have problems with an auto tranny, most of the time it simply requires a new belt or a simple adjustment you can do yourself. Not so with a tranny with gears, shift forks etc. I look at it like this......the more moving parts, the more stuff that can break. I say buy the Grizz.

I agree, of the two bikes the Grizzly is the way to go. Some look at the belt as a disadvantage, one thing to consider is all things mechanical break. So your choice is replace a $40 belt, or a $1000 transmission. Looking at it that way the rincon has no advantages over the Grizzly.

The best advice for you is to ride them all then make your choice, no one here knows what you need or like more than you. I don't think you would be disapointed with either bike.

I couldnt agree more.

The best advice for you is to ride them all then make your choice, no one here knows what you need or like more than you. I don't think you would be disapointed with either bike, I just got a Rincon this weekend and I'm very happy with it, if your worried about the trans just get the extended warranty. They had the Grizzly's at the dealer (Lakehill Motors) and they do look sweet, The Rincon just felt better to me. I just wanted to get away from the belts drive autos, because I have seen the Griz I ride with have the belt slip in water, but that's gonna happen with all brands. I think your best bet will be to go to a dealer that sells both like I did, ride them ask the dealer a ton of questions, like which ones come back in more often for repairs(in this case it was the griz) and make your choice. In any case I'm sure you will be happy with either quad.
