When I rebuilt mine, I used a waterproof marine grade grease. I just used a grease gun to put it where I wanted it. So far, it's worked great. You can get marine grade grease at most any Walmart, or any place that sells boating supplies. Farm & Home Supply stores would have it also. Rebuilding one yourself gives you a better understanding of how it all works. It's also a lot cheaper. Most replacement parts are available from Montana Jacks.

I also had one given to me...I called Warn and they recommended sending it to a service center. I called the center and they will totally "recondition" the winch for around $100. The reconditioning is greasing and new seals. They also said that if they found something wrong with the unit that was expensive they would notify me before repair. Not bad since you can buy a brand new Warn 2500 for $269.

I have took apart the warn 2000 that was given to me and cleaned all the MUD and grease from both gear assemblies. Now I need to regrease the units before I put it back together again. Is there a easy way to regrease the gears. Is there any type of good quality spray grease that I can use.
Thanks
