it does kind of sound like you got grease on or around the belt

replace belt and your problems will be gone!

I have a 99 grizz with a trans slipping problem,,it act like you have a stall converter in the tranny,,,when you rev the r'ss up it will move very little then when you rev it higher it will ingage a launch like a rocket,,i hhave gone in a cleaned and regreast the inside but have not replaced the belt ,,,,,,do you think the belt might be the problem or cpuld it be somthing else,,,,,,,help please,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

i cleaned the pully area with solvent and a rag 2 times before i put it back together and when i took it a part last nighti didn't feel or see anything on the drive surface,,,,,,,,,,

hey thanks for everyones input i got a new belt today and it seem to fix the problem,,,,,,
