I did the install on my Big Bear in about four and one half hours. I suggest you read all the instructions before you start then set out all the parts and know how you are going to run each wire before you start. I spent quite a bit of time deciding where to put the relay which slowed me down some. Be sure you remove and respool the cable under the prescribed pressure to stretch the cable, if you don't you will mess up the cable the first time you use it. Just take your time it is not a race.

It took me about 3 hours, including installation of the new rocker switch on the handle bars. The best place I found to mound the solenoid is under the "hood". Remove the front rack and the black plastic panel. Underneath is a nice open area, completely enclosed from the elements.

hey;
i installed my warn 2000 winch on my grizzly too. it took me about 3 1/2 hours to do it. if i was to start all over, i would gladly have paid to have them do it. i do like how i did it better than if they would of, but it was a pain in the ars'. i guess if you have a game plan on how your going to run all the wiring and the silinoid, then it wont be soo bad. i put my noid in the glove box, but wich i would have run a kill switch off of it to disengage it when not in use.good luck buddy, and have fun using it once your done, lol. (gotta find read deep stuff though)!

I was told by the dealer to plan for 2 hours. I bought the U2500, which is different than an A model (no solenoid). Although, for the extra wiring, I would only add another 30min for them...

So how hard is it to install the Warn 2000 on a 02 Grizzly. I've got the mounting hardware and winch waiting in the garage but I'm not sure of what I'm getting into. The dealer said it will take about 3 hours if I don't drink any beer Any hints/tips? I'm not the best when it comes to working on stuff but I have installed a supercharger in my 2000 Dakota R/T, headers on my 98 Camaro SS etc....

If you haven't already I think you shoulds do it. I did, and the way I look at it, if it don't work someday, I'll be that much closer to fixen it. Not to mention I saved a little dough. It was time consuming. It took me more like an entire day....with many beers!!! I got set up and bolted it on in about 30 mins.. I then spent hours deciding how to run the wires and customizing the wiring. If you still need it I'll let you know what I did. I was very happy how it came out, and it has saved me every other ride since!!!
