I would go 26/27" 589s. The only problem I see you haveing is that if you have a 98 model you will have to go to 25" tires cause thats the only 589 size that comes in a 10" rear wheel size.
If you have 99 and newer model then you can go to 26/27. But watch out on the front end. I have heard that wider tires can rub the tie rods on the Grizzly's when turning hard.

I'm looking for a tire that is good a good in mud, trails, and hard pack.
The 2 i am thinking about is the maxxis mud bugs or the 589's.

What wheel sizes would work for the 26 or 27 tires, because i want to use the stock rims if i can.
Would i need a lift kit for the 26 or 27 inch tire for the grizzly?

I have Mud Bugs and they really aren't a good "all around" tire. The have an aggressive tread like Vamps or Outlaws and they are ROUGH on the hardpack. They're great in the mud which is why I got them, but I wouldn't recommend them (or Vamps or Outlaws) unless you ride in the mud a lot.

I'll cast my vote for the Mudrunners. It's a great all around tire. Smooth on hardpack, and great in mud.

crashgordon does your mud bugs truly measure 27 inchs tall? I have some and they only measure 25 inchs.

589s have a 26x12x10 sizefor rear and a 26x9x12 for front. The bugs will rub your tierod ends and they are not a true 27 inch tire.I dont think you need a lift for the grizz to put big tires on it.

The Titan 589's are great looking tires , but you should also take a look at the Goodyear Mudrunners. I just put 26x12x12 and 26x9x12 on my Honda Rubicon and I can tell you first hand these tires are great. They are smooth riding and easy turning and really get a good bite in the mud. I put them on my stock rims with no problem , which are 12x 7.5. Try putting your question in the tire and suspension category and you will get far more responses.

Has anyone tried any Maxxis Sur-Trac tires? I have a friend with them on a 400ex and they really tear it up.
