A little more piling on... The 300EX is faster too. I pounded a Mojave in a drag and as far as the trails? Well, that goes without say. Like anyone expected accurate info about a Kawi or a Honda from a guy named "Suzuki". Bygones. Hillside Hawk '94 300EX

Oh come on Duster. I'm not full of that much crap. I did beat a Mojave, now you may speculate that it could have been driver error as it sounds like you know a bit about the Mojave, but I'm not coming in here intentionally lying to put on the kneepads for my 300EX. I don't need to do that. The new ATV Sport did a shootout between these two and once again, just like in many other 300EX comparison's the Honda came out on top. Read for yourself. And as for spewing crap, I've read some of your witty replies in other threads. Your senseless babble comes shining through when you talk of the Mojave and Warrior being that far out ahead of the 300EX. Let's shake hands and talk facts for a change. The 300EX is documented being the better of both the Warrior and Mojave ESPECIALLY in the tight woods. Everyone knows the Warrior has the better top speed than the 300EX (I don't know about the Mojave) so you're the one talking crap when you say the 300EX has "1 or 2 higher top end mph", because it doesn't. Look, don't tear down my reputation in here because your hard-chargin' to make your own point. I only can talk of what I know and don't pretend to know otherwise. I think for the most part and others will likely agree that the riders size, style and skill level factors in much more than is often written in these threads. Okay Duster, I'm finished with you. NO ONE SAID IT BETTER THAN 350Trixter. From now on what he said should be posted on EVERY SINGLE speed topic. ITS NOT JUST BIKE!! the rider has a more significant importance than the rider. Also, if your not on a straight length of a drag race, you can definitely beat a stock warrior rider with a stock 300ex. If you are on a drag race a pipe, K&N airfilter, and a jet kit would FORCE your enemy (or friend whoever your racing) to buy goggles to cover his eyes from dust. 300ex is the better buy. Its very reliable and easy to maintain. Long choice of mods to put on if you want to. Much better handling, probably the best handling on a sports quad. When i bought mine i also got mine much cheaper for the 300ex than the Warrior-i dunno if you will. So I say go for the 300ex.

Posted by: alibaba

The lowend of the 300ex kills the mojave, and top speeds are the same. I bet I can take your mojaves, I'm confident in my riding ability and my quad. I'll jump in front and won't let you take me over...

Posted by: Fast_&_Red

i have a Fmf and a jet kit on mine. I can outrun stock warriors. And my freind has a Mojave with a white bros and i can kill him in a drag. And the 300ex is one of the most reliable bikes made. a lot more than the mojave.

Posted by: blaster13

For the ones saying the Mojave is more reliable than the 300ex, you make me laugh. I have a friend with an 87 Mojave that has been maintained perfectly, but for some reason still falls apart. He is constantly adjusting his valves. Half the time the quad doesn't run. His shifter always falls off and all other Mojaves he has seen have the same problem. While I see new Mojaves on the side of the trails needing repairs, I still see old, beat up 250x's(which you all know are pretty much the same as the 300) driving right by them with no problems. Now, who's reliable?

Posted by: RangerSX

ummmmm lets see..... duster you drive a what??? Well lets see, how is the mojave that much better than a 300ex? cuz of the high compression?? Well that would acutally make it less reliabe since it puts more stress on the engine! Better handling?? what?????? everyone pretty much knows that the 300ex is one of the best handling machines on the market..... well thats just a few things...

Posted by: trxray

Just to let you know the EX is lighter 300ex = 377lbs Mojave = 379lbs

Posted by: trxray

I just stated weight. Thats all.

Posted by: Mxracer98

For all of you who said that your 300ex is faster than a Mojave must of been having a wet dream and then woke up to reality. Stupid dummy's and as far as reliability, My mojave has had only got dirt in the carb once and my friends 300ex has had a bunch of problems from leaking gas tanks, bad axle bearings, and shock problems.

Posted by: Mxracer98

The low-end of of a 300ex sucks compared to a mojave the mojave has 4 valves and dual overhead cams and the 300ex has 4 valves and one cam plus the mojave has 11:1 compression compared to 9:1 of the 300ex so it shows that you also must be dreaming, the 300ex has no low-end and anyone who wants to race me on my Mojave can e-mail at Mxracer98@hotmail.com and set a date up if you are that confident in your ability's.

Posted by: 350Trixter

I own a 1996 yamaha warrior. I'm looking into buying eather a blaster or a 300ex. I probubly am going to get the EX. A buddy of mine has a stock 1995 300EX. This past week i drag raced him with my cobra pipe off the warrior. We raced 5 times. Twice I was on the 300EX and three times I was on the Warrior. Quess what? I beat him 5 times in a row. This goes to show that riderskilll determans most of the time, the speed of your quad.

I have a 97 300ex witha K&N filter and dynojet kit. my cousin has a 96 mojave with web cams and a wiseco piston. He can beat me on long straights oh well if I want to drag race I'll get a funny car. But in the woods and on a mx track I beat him. as far as magazine test go dirt wheels, atv sport ,4 wheel atv action all said the 300ex is beter than mojave, warrior, sport and blaster due to its good handeling and execlenet egronomics and real world value. As far as reliability go my 300ex has always started and as far as I know his mojave has always started. I like both machines. I think the 300ex is a better all around sport qaud who cares who has the fastest qaud just have fun and roost.

Posted by: retromotoracer

Well, Well, Well.... Where to start first of all the mojave weighs alot more try, 300ex 374lbs mojave 418lbs according to the march 2000 issue of atv action. Both of these weights are actual wet weight. And as for handling, well here is an exact quote. "Even with the pokiest motor of the bunch, the EX edged out the warrior for the quickest lap times. The blaster followed in third with the overweight and underpowered mojave in fourth." I think this says it all. Adam Hooks~00' 300EX, white bro. e-series pipe and silencer, dynojet jet kit, k&n, rear razrs, renthal bars.

Posted by: ex_master

I have a 14T front sprocket on my 99 300ex and a k&n power kit. i also have a wider supertrapp head pipe and have the blockers taken out of my stock silencer. It can beat a bayou 220 bored to a 260 with a larger carb , k&n power kit and this 220 also has a cobra exhaust this bike can eat a trailblazer and i just walk past him on my EX!!

Posted by: Mike300EX-99

With a pipe and filter along with a 14 tooth counter sprocket you should have no problem riding with Warriors. Chances are you may even roost'em a bit.

Posted by: kevdog

ALRIGHT, HERE IS THE REAL DEAL....A STOCK MOJAVE WILL JUST BEAT A STOCK 300EX IN A STRAIGHT LINE DRAG RACE. SAME TOP SPEED. THE 300EX HANDLES BETTER ALL THE WAY AROUND. THEY ARE BOTH EQUALLY AS RELIABLE WHEN STOCK. THE 300EX WILL RESPOND BETTER TO MODS BECAUSE IT COMES MORE "DETUNED" FROM THE FACTORY. WHEREAS KAW PULLED OUT ALL THE STOPS ON THE MOJAVE ENGINE: HIGH COMP, DUAL OHC & WATER COOLING. THE MOJAVE MAKES MORE HP THAN THE 300EX BUT WEIGHS MORE, THAT'S THE ONLY REASON IT DOESN'T KILL IT IN DRAG RACE & TOP SPEED. DRY WEIGHT ISN'T A GOOD REPRESENTATION OF REAL WORLD GERTH. WHEN TOPPED WITH ALL FLUIDS, THE MOJAVE ACTUALLY WEIGHS ABOUT (DON'T HAVE THE EXACT FIGURES) 10-20LBS MORE. I WILL CHECK ON THAT AND EDIT AS NEEDED???!!! BASICALLY THE ONLY THINGS THAT THE 300EX HAS ON THE MOJAVE IS HANDLING AND BETTER SELECTION OF AFTERMARKET PARTS. END OF STORY.

I am thinking about buying a new 300ex. If I buy one and put a K&N power kit and a Big Gun exhaust on it how fast will it go? My freinds have warriors and I want to be able to keep up or out run them! Thanks for any help!

Posted by: 300ex-treme

Thanks for sticking up for the 300 EX. Most of the posts here are so full of brag that I gat tired of reading all of them. Every shoot out of mid-sized sport bikes that I have read in the past five years had voted the 300 EX the best all-around sport ride. By the testimony given by unbiased reporting, I was able to purchase my '94 EX without even riding a quad!! I don't regret the choice that I made as I have had fun on mine without any major troubles for the past five years.

Posted by: gagnier

You are CRAZY a Mojave will never come close to a 300EX in anything !! and they will never be as reliable!!!!!

Posted by: hondatrx300ex

ha ha good one suzukiboom :D

Posted by: 300exx

My 300EX has a powerkit and asupertrapp pipe (with no disks) and I can out-run a 400EX. So you are probably looking at 63-67.ITS TRUE

Posted by: duster

trxray & Hillside Hawk, I'd gain 2 LBS, for liquid cooled, DOHC, 11:1 compression ratio, good choke, reliable reverse that easy to use, better reliability and $1,000 left over for mods anyday. Hillside Hawk, You are full of enough crap to make up for the 2 LBS. You must have a couple grand in mods to beat a stock Mojave in a drag and in the woods with a little 8:1 compression ratio 300. Or better yet maybe it was the Lakota 300 and you just thought it was a Mojave. The Mojave runs with Warriors until they hit 6th gear or around 55 MPH. I was able to do that on a '00 Mojave on the 1st ride. I ran off and left the Warrior in the woods and I wasn't even used to it yet. So, don't spoon feed crap, no way are you keeping up in tight woods. And further more, you would bee lucky to run 9's in a 100yd drag race on pavement with a stock 300EX. So, by the time you get to your 1 or 2 MPH higher topend I highly doubt you would ever catch up. The only way you would have an advantage is if both quads were running side by side at 50+ MPH, then you might pull away a little. I don't even own a Mojave, but that still gets under my skin. GREEN WITH ENVY???

Posted by: tprender

The jet kit and exhaust is a good idea, but I am not a big fan of the Big Gun exhaust. You will also notice an some more power if you run with out airbox lid, I put and Outterwears cover on. Remember to watch out for deep water with out the cover. Change the front sprocket from a 13T to a 14T and it will run better on top end and you should still be able to climb almost any hill. A Warrier most of the time will beat a 300ex in a drag race or be close to even depending on the rider. But the 300 will win the race on the mx track and the race in the woods. many 250r's 87 250X 400EX

buy a kawasaki mojave its faster, cheaper, lighter and more reliable!

Posted by: trx300EXR

I know this. I love my quad. I don't care what people say. I think its the best quad for me and thats all that matters so lets stop squabbling and just enjoy riding our respective quads.

Posted by: 250rampage

Duster, look in the feb. Issue of dirtwheeles. They had a shootout between a stock 300ex, and a mojave. The 300ex won in EVERYTHING.

Posted by: skull

yup yup, I keep up with my buddys just fine and they all ride warriors. all of our bikes are basiclly stock except for tires and stuff. my ex is even faster than some banshees I know, I could pass em like theyre standing still...thats because they are standing still. my friends at work like to talk about how fast theyre banshees are, and theyre sitting in theyre garage while Im out ridin. so what Im tryin to say is mojave, 300ex, warrior, who cares just ride the dang things.

Posted by: JayZ250

Well just let it be known that I do not like post like this, about which bike if faster and all that jazz. But I also get tired of them. People downing everyone else quad to make theirs look better. So I just want to add my two cents. First I agree with Kevdog and I have read almost every article in Dirtwheels about the Mojave and the say it time over and over again. Stock for stock the 300ex and Mojave top speed is the same and the 300ex has the better suspension and handling. And if you pay attention that is the main thing they base their shootout on, because they did the majority of their test on an mx track or an mx style place. Look I not trying to go 80 mph on a quad I have a wife and three kids. But both quads are good and they both have their faults. But notice the articles. One will say the 300ex is better all around then, then another said that the Warrior was fastest and better for bigger riders and the other stated that with the cost difference from the Mojave and 300ex(a little over $800) the with some basic mod the Mojave can really out do a 300ex. Think about it if you are a budget you have $800 extra bucks, that means a jet kit, pipe and silencer, shocks, after market filter, and maybe even a .40 piston. And you might just come at the price of a 300ex after taxes and handling. It all how you look at and I am not posting this to start and argument. Because if I want to argue with a bunch of kids I have three at home so don't take this to heart. Just my two cents and guess what I own a Mojave. And it is reliable, fast enough and I mainly ride with two-stroke, Banshee and Tecate. And they smoke me on the dirt roads, but all I have to do is catch them slippin' and once we hit the woods they cannot past me, they say I kick up too much rocks, dirt, etc. Granted my Mojave is slightly modified but only with both on and it does depend on the rider and terrain. Straight flats, dirt roads, etc the smoke me, tight trail and woods I stay in front and the laugh I get when we get in trail and I am in reverse and they are picking their quads up and around. It is all preference and politics and you know the magazines get endorsements for hyping up a certain bike. But don't take any off this personal, I just get tired of the Honda is the best, no Kawasaki is, oh no Polaris is. You know just ride and have fun and if I could I would own a 300ex, 400ex, Banshee, Tecate all of them just so I can have choices and tune in to what type of riding I will do that day. Peace

If the 300ex is so good why Honda bother to make the 400ex instead of a 2 stroke quad.

For the fastest and the best bang for the buck get a Blaster. I have a '99 Blaster bought new for $3250.00 with a Gradon Proline pipe and silencer, Boyesen Pro-Series reeds, removed airbox lid, rejetted, and regeared (14tooth front) sprocket cost me around $380.00 = $3630.00 total still cheaper than a thumper. The only problem I have had was my oil injection just went out, but I planned to remove it anyway (no engine damage caused). I have out run and out climbed Warriors, Mojaves, and 300EXs. they were all mostly stock I beleave. I haven't lost to a thumper yet, but I haven't raced any 400EXs, DS650s, or of course Rapters.

Posted by: HondaRacer21

I own a 00 300ex (mods listed below), and was racing my 1st race and wrecked, and I still came back and blew out a blaster, with some mods.
