You already have the bolt ons. Your next move is to get into the engine. Carb and cam would be the next move for me. Then maybe a slightly higher compression piston.

I don't have a Z so this will be from my engine building experiance and tuning.
Substantial is a very subjective word. An well ground cam matched with the other parts you have will wake up your engine. So yes, you will be able to feel quite a bit of power.
Will it decrease reliability? Well, sure but not to the extent that it will become unreliabile. If you or the shop that does the rebuild does a good job, you should not have to worry about that.
I'm sure that someone else on this board will come along and answer your question better than me. There must be a lot of people on here that has done this mod on a Z.

i own an 03 z400 with a full yosh pipe, jet kit, k&n and open air box. im looking to get a little more power all around (top-bottom end). i wanted to put the 440 kit on but i was told it will decrease the reliability of my bike alot. how about a cdi and a edlebrock carb, i know they will both give me more power but im also not looking to loose that much reliability in my bike and im not sureif its worth the $600-$900 and will i get that much more all around power out, what are some other suggestions.
