For 9k you could buy a banshee or any big bore 4 stroke sport quad that would decimate the bombs.

Outlander 800 HO EFI Price (MSRP): $8,749.00
If you get to spend 8750 plus tax, then so can I. And using the banshee or any other big bore sport quad I can spend that much and be dramatically faster than a stock outty 800 that costs the same.
Heck, give me that budget and I can purchase and make a few kawasaki 4x4's faster.
It's the best stock 4x4 out there as far as power goes, but for the price it had better be.

You're changing the subject. We never said ANYTHING about who's bike was more expensive. We wanted to know WHO'S BIKE WOULD WIN IN A RACE. I told you the Outty would, and you disagreed and wanted proof, now you're trying to prove me wrong using the price tag?
Argue with someone who cares.
LOL, what thread are you reading when you replied here?
I never said anything either way about what a stock vs stock race would turn out as. I didn't disagree with you, and I sure as hell didn't call for proof. I'm not trying to prove you wrong about anything.
I just said that for the price the outty better be fast, because that much money into a number of other machines and you'd be even faster.

Is anyone else unimpressed by the fact that a brand new high-tech 4 stroke that costs nearly 9k dollars US can beat a sport quad that was released in the late 80's with less than half the displacement and costs 2/3 the price? The only impressive part is the power of the 800 overcoming the weight to make it a race.
I'd be posting about beating 450's or some of the big bore sport quads, if the 800 can beat them. I honestly haven't looked into it to know if they do or not.

Yeah...I just mentioned that the only impressive part about the whole ordeal is the bike's power being great enough to overcome the weight.

uhhhh...I'm pretty impressed. The outty is made as an UTILITY quad, for hauling stuff and going through mud. the banshee on the other hand is made for SPEED and drag racing...nothing more, yet it still has a tough time out-running a 700lb 4x4 bike lol
your obviously just pissed off about this and don't want to admit your wrong, so keep running your mouth...your the only one coming off like a idiot.
Have you even read this thread? I haven't said the outty can't beat it.
The banshee's engine is from a road bike w/o the pv's, in stock tune it's hardly a "drag only" machine.
We've got a 4-tec 1000, the engine is great as has been for a number of years. When you drop an engine like that into a quad, even when losing 200cc, I have every expectation for it to beat a number of sportier alternatives.

The 800 is quicker to 250-feet but what about after that?
250-feet is nothing, I would expect a 4x4 with that much engine to take off like a rocket with all that traction. A 2wd with a lot of power loses a lot to wheel spin.
I can't imagine that a Banshee or a DS650 would not eventually catch and pass the Outlander...........

Pipe/reeds dont really help with top-end. Pipe will make your bike more torquey. To help with top end, get bigger tires and/or change your gearin

I raced my brother v-force with my 400 polaris sport. He didn't just run off and leave me.The v-force isn't the fastest bike out there.I really like it though. It has good power and very trail friendly(easy to ride/automatic).That said,my brother has had several people crash his' 700 because they underestimated what a new automatic quad could do.Just because it's automatic, doesn't mean it can't be powerful. They are impressive.I'm sure can-am has done their homework too and made an incrediable quad.I can't wait to ride one.
I agree with some of these guys. You just need to find one and race it.
If it beats ya,that's ok.Look at the million of mods available to ya.
Technology has helped the big bores alot.Just look back 5-10 years ago at what the industry called fast. It's just going to keep improving.Man,it's great how much the atv industry is improving.
If yamaha had been improving the banshee along the way like they did other quads then the banshee could have been insanely fast from the factory.
Please let us know when you race one.

Man,the banshee I had would smoke your's if it is stock.
There's a ton of guys out there that could smoke me.
I don't like loosing either, but it's a fact of life that it will happen to all of us sooner or later.
Don't let it ruin having a good day of racing when it happens to you.

I know exactly what you mean.Lack of traction will cause a banshee get when it wouldn't if it hooked up.Most riding is done off road though. So in normal riding conditions, you better have some good tires for the area you're at.That said though the v-force is a good quad along with many others. There is plenty of other quads that will beat a stock banshee. There are some very fast 450's out there.Say at a 300 foot dirt track,These outy's,v-force,etc... will probably hook up better than a banshee and get ya off the line. That's doesn't leave ya alot of time to catch them and these new utility quads are very strong.

That is a good point. The banshee is a sport bike and the outy isn't.Even if they were even in a race, that would say alot for how far utility quads have come. Now if that utility quad beat the sport bike................?

You probably won't be able to tell much difference with just reeds but the pipes should make a noticeable difference. If you don't ride in much mud or water,I would remove the airbox and buy K&N filters that clamp directly to the carbs. That combination of reeds, pipes, and filters should help it quite a bit.You would definitely be able to tell a difference just make sure to rejet it.
For a stock port banshee,I like Toomey T-5's.The FMF's would be an inprovement though.

bansheeguy, leave it to rest. its ok to get beat by a 700lb bike with a winch and racks with 4x4. many ppl are learning this. it has been done, it takes a ds with a set of snows, full exhaust, cdi and a k&n to out run a stock outty.
i think you need to ask THE BOM about what kind of bikes the outtys will run.

Heres a mildly modded kfx beating a modfied banshee, if the kfx700 can do it, a stock banshee doesnt stand a chance agisnt the big bad 800.
Posted by: WisWolvyII
If your talking a 300 foot race an outty would beat a stock banshee, troque is what wins short drag and the banshees motor is not known for its torque and combine that with the hookup of 4wd and a cvt, the banshee doesnt stand a chance, i have also heard that the outlander can beat a stock raptor 700 in a drag and if thats the case a stock banshee wouldnt be too tough, RDZ brought up a good point, that these are off road vehicles and if it doesnt hook up in dirt, sand, etc. It doesnt win. i wont argue that the banshee has limitless potential for power, but in "real life" a stock 800 will beat a stock banshee.

The only impressive part is the power of the 800 overcoming the weight to make it a race.
I'd be posting about beating 450's or some of the big bore sport quads, if the 800 can beat them. I honestly haven't looked into it to know if they do or not.
no, im impressed
uhhhh...I'm pretty impressed. The outty is made as an UTILITY quad, for hauling stuff and going through mud. the banshee on the other hand is made for SPEED and drag racing...nothing more, yet it still has a tough time out-running a 700lb 4x4 bike lol
your obviously just pissed off about this and don't want to admit your wrong, so keep running your mouth...your the only one coming off like a idiot.

hahah!!!! I got something for all of you. My Red and Black 1985 1/2 Yamaha Tri-Z 250 will take all of you to school. Its sleeved, ported, reeds, jetted, full exhaust, and geared perfectly. What do you say to that?? hahah!!!! I have beaten numerous of the following; banshee, blaster, DS650, Grizz 700, Raptor 660, Grizz 700, Rincons, 200X, 350X, and a few dirt bikes. I haven't come across anyone around here with a outlander, but if I see one I'll be sure to challenge. If its not that much faster than a DS650 it doesn't stand a chance.

ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffftttttttttttttttt!!!!!! I FARTED!!!!!! BR>
My Tri-Z will beat the outlander 800 or the renegade 800 in a drag race and then it would pull it through the mud. HAHAHAH!!!!!! 3 wheels are better than 4
Posted by: daron
HHAHAHAHAH!!!!! I'm glad I'm from Texas where you can own what you want. Who doesn't like 3 wheelers??? I like 4 wheelers to, but I started riding a honda atc 70 when I was 2 and by the time I was 4 I was on a big red 250ES. 3 wheelers are not dangerous, inexperienced riders are dangerous. Its like sueing the tobacco company for getting cancer. No one forced them to buy a 3 wheeler, and no one told them to ride like morons. How is that I was 2 years old riding a three wheeler and didn't get hurt??? Anyways, I have one and they are popular as sh it right now. Just look at ebay. Thousands of dollars are being spent on them. More than they cost brand new. I would like to see how your banshee stacks up against my Tri-Z. Oh and just so you know I have nothing against quads as I own two of those and I'm also currently looking for a banshee, so no, I'm not a banshee hater. My point is, to everyone, riding atvs is supposed to be fun. A way to get out of the rut of the weekday jobs and all of that bullsh it. Who cares whose atv is faster or stronger. Ride what you got and have fun.

I would have to say no the outlanders are fast for sport utes but comparing them to any racing quad is a joke. It would be a decent race until the outty started running out of gear with that automatic tranny. Then the 6 th gear of most racing quads would walk away.

My name is wayne ok and i know the bike got balls at lower end but mine dont have all that strong of bottom end i know that so i bought a boost bottle which did make a difference and a k&n air filter for more air flow nothing is keeping my bike from hitting 80 mph she will do it and ill pass the outlander on top end no doubt about it maybe ill keep up in mid range because if i could keep up with a banshee like mine that is a stroker in all gears u know i can shift fast and hit the power band at the right rpm outlander has wa about 8000 rpm mine revs out at 10500 big difference all i need 2 do 82 mph sure is 22 x 11 x 9 tires
Posted by: BansheeGuy69
go Race ? ive beat every big bore here for a 4x4 no problem 4 or 5th gear no sweet only bike i didnt beat was the 800 outlander if i passed my cousins 700 kawazaki no doubt ill pass the outlander theres only 2 bikes that beat me a stroker banshee that i kept up with in 5 gears and a ds 650 just barely pass me and the stock rev limiter for the ds 650 baja x is not 75 mph its 81 and this tread is for any 1 who has tried it and not about money for bikes ... thankyou
Posted by: BansheeGuy69
Your right ... but its not a outlander or a banshee is it ask sum 1 2 try those bikes not ur tri-z 250
Posted by: BansheeGuy69
Two guys from here were racing on a banshee and a ds 650 the banshee had bigger tires that messed with her gear ratios more apart right ... less bottom end the bikes were close when the banshee was mixed lean and we didnt use a radar gun we used a gps on both the ds 650 baja x version was at 82 mph with 2 people on her 81 with 1 person and the banshee at 80 mph 1 person
Posted by: BansheeGuy69
i said the brute force because its in the outlanders class u see for big bore vtwins
Posted by: BansheeGuy69
the banshee cannot keep up at take off i figured that but as soon as 4 gear was in they side by side and the banshee ate her on top end i told u so i told u so the outty isnt a racer its the fastest ... in 4x4

Posted by: BansheeGuy69

Posted by: BansheeGuy69
i need 2 ask what will vforce 3 reeds and fmf grarnly pipes with turbine core 2s will do 4 my bike any 1 know how much faster it will go ?
Posted by: BansheeGuy69
a guy from here had old set of dg pipes on a recked out banshee with 260's jets ? or more sumthing like that anyways and he had a k&n air filter it had 2 make a difference if i kept up with him in 1 2 3 4 5 in 6th he passed me like nothing im guessing the 22 x 11 x 9 tires had 2 play along with that maybe that banshee even beat a ds 650 the baja x ... actually played with it on top end what do anything think about difference pipes makes on a 2 stroke ?
Posted by: BansheeGuy69
Yeah that sounds right 3-5 mph increase thats not bad but what about the vforce 3 reeds too im sure that will help more than 3-5 mph for sure and daron no 1 cares about ur 3 wheeler u know if ur caught here in canada with one they get chopped up because there outlawed ppl got killed on them and 4 wheels are better than 3 anything between 2 and 4 wheels is junk
Posted by: BansheeGuy69
Hey daron i see ur point yeah 3 wheelers are popular in the states but you cant have any in canada i had a yamaha tri moto 125 when i was younger and that old thing was 1980 and i bet if i still had it i could wheelie longer than anybike made those old bike are fun ill give em that for speed and a good time hey
the banshees i dont like very much tell u the truth they rattle apart and mine is experincing a new sound after being clocked off at 79 mph with slicks for tires and no baffles took them out for sound but if ull agree with me the outty cannot keep up with some racing bikes like my bike the yfz 450 the 700 raptor or the ds 650 baja x

an outlander 800 will beat a stock banshee, i ride with people that have both of these and we lined them up to drag and the outlander won it
