I'm pretty excited. To be honest i think i'd prefer my forth coming 'Law because in the experience i've had with the 500 Outlaw, it seems significantly faster in the corners than any straight axle in my group. not to mention ground clearance... But the tru KTM machine will be an amazing straight-axle no doubt. There's supposed to be a 50" wide 450 MXer released after the 525 too... You can be sure these will be top performers, but you'll pay for it... $$$

*agrees* You'll definately pay for the performance. It's neat tho that Polaris will offer an IRS version and KTM will offer a SRA version of the same engine. I just hope the the KTM version will not be WAAAY more expensive than the $7300 for the 525 'Law. Otherwise that would hurt its sales, and i never like to see that when someone's bringing an awesome new product to market...reminds me of cannondale

i'm sure most of you know this, but for those that don't XC racin' in the GNCC is limitted to 525 ccs, making the 525 KTM motor simply an IDEAL platform for XC racing. That's what Polaris sells the most of too, which is why they built a 525 'Law for XC first. I anticipate a forth-coming 450 from both parties in the coming year, following the launch of their respective 525 platforms.

Actually the 525 is a great motor for flattracking, and the KTM quad will be SRA so no worries in the corners.

Rumoured price is around 9k for the 525.

They're building one of those too.

Im pretty excited, I know for a fact there motors are very reliable and make big HP numbers, so it will be interesting to see what they come up with for a quad of their own design, its gonna be really expensive though...

Ok so it is a fact that there will be a KTM branded quad. It is said to be out next summer. I have read that it is going to be for XC racing, I was wondering what yall's opinion was on this.

The 525 KTM quad should be a good desert racer. I desert raced a 525 bike last year, and that motor has the all time best powerband of any off road toy I have ever owned. I just bought our third KTM two stroke racer earlier today, but their four strokes are equally impressive. Maybe I should have told the dealer to save me one of these new KTM 525 quads, because lately I've been thinking that the YFZ is due for a trade in.

It makes total sense to me that KTM would come out with the 525 first, then the 450 considering that they built the motor for the Outlaw 525 effectively getting all the necessary mods to go from 2-4 wheels out of the way, not to mention the fact that Kawasaki and likely Can-Am will have the release of their 450's this year so they want to have their own thunder next year.

The KTM 525 is on my short list as my next quad.

lol japs changin rules....i think they will be good for rec and GNCC type racin and a 525 motor has been proven to be reliable so i think it is a good combo
