That rim will be very expensive through your dealer. You should'nt have much trouble a good used replacement for cheaps here on the net.

The buddy thing might be a little different or easier to work out.. For me personally, if I trashed something of my buddies I would even feel more obligated to fix it.........
But, everybody is different and has different opinions, so as long as you and your buddy are on the same page, there's no problem there.
If I run into somebody and break something, I would think any decent person would feel obligated to (or at least help) pay for the damage. Yeah $hit happens, but somebody is usually doing something wrong if you run into somebody else. There are different circumstances for every situation, but in general if you break something of somebody elses, you should pay for it. If I do something stupid and cause somebody to run into me, well then that's my fault and of course they don't have to pay for it then.

I should expect that somebody else is going to hit me and break $hit, so if I don't like it I shouldn't be riding?????????????
I accept that $hit happens and I might do something and break my quad, but sure the he|| not that somebody else will crash into me.................

Had a stupid kid catch the side of my rear rim with his front guard and now that wheel wobbles at any speed over 10mph. Can I fix this or do I have to buy a new rim?

Thanks. Yea it just slid my bike over about 2 feet but he took a little tumble over the bars. Thank God he was OK though.

key word your buddy, i seen were your coming from now, if its my buddy i dont see him wanting me to buy him one or i wouldnt make or see him buying me one, Unless it was on purpose....i was meaning if it was someone i didnt kno and never met befor and just up and slamed my quad and bent the rim...
