Retarding the exhaust cam on the yfz one tooth adds quite a bit of top end performance and with a pipe and filter that bike is going to be pretty quick.

Hey Yall. My friend has a 2005 yfz. He has installed an white bros. E2, jet kit, and white bros. rev box. My question is about his latest modification. Somewhere he found this hot setup on the internet. Instead of buying a set of hotter cams, he turned his exhaust cam 1 tooth forward on the timing chain. Then he retarted the timing (i do not what exactly). Ever since then he has gained several mph on top end better throttle response and better holeshot ability. The holeshot came from less tire spinning. Before when we raced i could beat him on my modified raptor. Now i lose by about 10 to 15 foot. This is about a quater mile gravel straight away. To me his modification doesn't add up. Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks...

Someone......................PLEASE HELP ME!!!.......

This debate between me and the owner of that yfz mentioned above is getting pretty heated. I think he has done more to that engine then he is letting on. Can anyone help settle this?
