Hey RDZ, I pulled a few of my timeslips from last may when I ran my 350 on gas. I ran it with a 16-41 gear ratio and 20' American racer tires. I had a 1.58 60ft time, 4.76 in 330ft, and a 7.60 at 85.90 in 660ft. That was my best with a few coming in a little slower than that. That was also manually shifting. Keep working on it, you'll get going much faster. The 60ft time means everything and will greatly reduce your times. Every .01 will almost be .02 at the end of the track. Bubba

I am not an Arkansas rider at the moment... BUT I WILL BE SOON!!!
Posted by: wildcatkit52
Nice banshee. I like the Sahara pics... You go out there often?
Posted by: wildcatkit52
I am planning on going sometime soon. Then I will be going to Sandfest. Seems to be the going trend anyway. I will be going out there as often as possible. I was going to go a few weekends ago but my brother couldn't make it do to lack of funds. He just got an engine for his truck and is trying to get everything else to get it installed. A large group went in March but I couldn't make it. Hopefully I will get to go soon though I am still healing from my little altercation with the pavement due to stupidity while on my gixxer... I was THIS CLOSE to thinking about that GSXR1000 engine on a 250R frame... Fortunatly I came to my senses and am gonna fix the bike. To much money in it to waste it. Maybe I will come across another engine cheap if something like that is ment to be. A 165hp drag ATV DOES sound nice though don't it???
Posted by: wildcatkit52
A lot of people around Russellville have been going to Little Sahara lately... It sucks because I can't go at the moment! I don't know if I will get to go until Sandfest!
Posted by: wildcatkit52
Dead topic??? How about we discuss how many are going to Little Sahara for Sand Fest in September???
Posted by: wildcatkit52
I just lost my camera at the Petti Jean car show so I can't show you pictures of the blaster I built for my GF... I will take more and post them. Most don't even know what it is...
Posted by: wildcatkit52
You could always go with a 240 kit and pipe. I used four inch longer swingarm on the rear and some plus 3 inch A arms. The swing arm was a stock one that was lengthend. I got it from blaster.com for $200... They also will extend yours but the cost almost evens out when you add in the cost of shipping yours to them. Mine came in powdercoated chrome. I used maier race plastic on mine to change the looks a bit. I also used banshee brakes. These are a MUST HAVE when you make an older blaster faster... It has a banshee rear axle and carrier.
If you are anywhere close to Pope County you can bring it to Russellville and take it to HUBBARD ATV for porting. The guy that does it can do it however you want. They can get you a bigger carb and any big bore kit you want...
Here is a link to some pics of my blaster. These are when it is almost done.

Posted by: wildcatkit52
Well the blaster I have has been ported a bit, pipe, and bigger carb so it runs pretty good. It has MUCH room for improvement but it is for my GF and I want her to be comfortable on it before it gets any faster...

Bubba is the one to talk to about porting RDZ... He has some pretty fast bikes himself and has ported many other fast bikes.

Don't know yet. Still have to put the rear brake caliper on it, bleed all the new brakes and put the chain on. I will let you know as soon as I get that done how it does...

Posted by: RDZ350
I'm from Paragould,Ar.
Posted by: RDZ350
Paragould is about 15 minutes from Jonesboro.Any good riding in Truman?A few weeks ago I met up with some guys I meet on the forums at banshee HQ.They live at Wynne,Ar.I go through Jonesboro going to Wynne. It's about a 1 1/2 hour drive for me to Wynne.Had a great time racing. My brother and dad went with me too.Next time I go,so should you.I could beat everyone I was racing that day,but the guy with the banshee got some new pipes so we're going to run them again when he gets it dialed in.I've done some tuning of my own also.
Posted by: RDZ350
No problem.
Posted by: RDZ350
So you prefer motorcross?I'm into drag racing.I've heard they may be going to build a drag strip there at the Brookland track.Have you heard anything?Ever been to St.Joe near Farmington,Mo.?It's an atv park. They've got areas good for drags,trails,etc...It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive for us.They require you to have a helmet and a flag. That's no big deal though. We're going Memorial day weekend.Interested?Regular knobbie tires are fine for riding, but if it's been a while since they got any rain they don't do very well for racing.I'll be running paddle tires. There should be several guys that visit this site there:THEBOM,Macanic,etc...Most of these guys are really into drag racing.BOM is just plain fast.Extremely built DS on nitrous.Macanic is no slow poke either. There's suppose to be some guys with some built predators there.I'm interested to see how well they run.Got your interest yet ridinsmooth?Anyone else?
Posted by: RDZ350
I go once a year.I wish it was in my back yard.My wife would always know where to find me.LOL! do wish I could go more often. It's great when the drag banshees show up.Man they're fast.I could run with some of them, but the really bad drag banshees would run off and leave me.If you've never been to Little Sahara, you need to go at least once.
Posted by: RDZ350
Sure does.
Posted by: RDZ350
I've been to craighead forest, but it's been years ago.The trails were near a gravel pit. That was fun. They've since moved the riding area to the other side of the park.I was told the trails were a little rough, but that was a while ago also. They may have improved by now.If I go,I'll probably take my wife's Polaris. It's more a trail rig.The banshee is not much fun on trails.Oh yeah, how in the world did you break your hand?OUCH!
Posted by: RDZ350
I don't think I've asked this yet.Have any of you been to sand creek? It's mostly just a place to hang out,but there is some riding areas there. You can go a long ways down the creek, and there is some trails also. There's a bluff people try to see how far up they can make it up it.Sunday is when the most people show up.Not any real good areas for racing, but the creek beats nothing.
Posted by: RDZ350
I'm going to post what we're talking about in the WHERE TO RIDE forum also.To see if we can find any more riders from arkansas.I'm enjoying talking to you guys.We all need to meet up some time to do a little riding.
Posted by: RDZ350
It's hard to explain where it's at.If you ever want to go,let me know.
Posted by: RDZ350
I'm planning to go to george ray's dragstrip this sunday. It's here in paragould. It's an 1/8th mile dragstrip.Hoping to do a little tuning on the banshee while there.Anyone interested?
Posted by: RDZ350
I did go to the dragstrip. It run pretty good.Only made two passes. The best was an 8.56.It was spinning at least to 1/2 track.Maybe even farther.Smoked a mustang in the process. The second pass,I slipped the clutch and it hooked up that time. When I was shifting to third(this might sound crazy)as I opened my hand to pull the clutch lever I couldn't reach it.The bike was pulling very hard.So I let out of it about 1/2 track for a moment. It still run a 8.64.I'd say that's pretty good.A dodge magnum was the victim that time.I broke off a wheel from my wheelie bar on the second pass. Not bent it a little.Broke it off.So I called it a day.I think it can go extremely low 8's to high 7's.
Posted by: RDZ350
Hey honda rider, where in Ar. do you live?
Posted by: RDZ350
Hey strongtyerYFZ,got the yfz yet?My banshee's getting hungry.LOL!Which yfz are you getting?white,blue,etc...I still wish we could all get together for a ride sometime.
Posted by: RDZ350
I'm a drag racer not a jumper. So consider yourself the winner.Jumping doesn't scare me as bad as crashing.I mean landing.
Posted by: RDZ350
You know what I'm talking about.Crashes can happen in drag racing too.Saturday while some of us were drag racing at St.Joe in Missouri. One of the guys that visits these forums,Macanic, crashed his Honda. This is one bad honda and it's throttle stuck wide open.I'm not sure if he just bailed or was thrown from the bike, but the bike was rolling down the track. It was wild.He was kind of banged up,but ok.I think he was very blessed. It could have been worse. The bike had to be hauled off on a trailer. So accidents can happen at any time. That thought stays in my head.
Posted by: RDZ350
You're right, but there are some pretty wild crashes. There's no such thing as a good crash,is there?
Posted by: RDZ350
Thanks for the encouragement.I do need a 16 tooth sprocket. The biggest I've got is a 15.I know better tires would make a night and day difference.A new friend of mine found out this weekend my clutch cable needed adjusting.Man what a huge difference. It was very consistant after that.It was so bad it was easy to tell the clutches were slipping.Where can I get a set of those 20's you were talking about?
Posted by: RDZ350
Hey strongtyerYFZ,I think you're trying to start trouble.LOL!!!We didn't want to be selfish and just talk among ourselves.I think that's nice of us.Don't you?LOL!
Posted by: RDZ350
I think we're like brothers. We may fight like cats and dogs, but let them boys from other states pick on one of us and we'll all turn on them like a pack of pitbulls.LOL!
Posted by: RDZ350
If it don't rain or if nothing comes up,my brother and I will most likely be going to sand creek sunday. He was out there last sunday and talked to some guys on some banshees. He got the impression that they thought they were the baddest thing around here.We want to know if they're right.I don't think so,but you never know. They might.I'll take my alcohol banshee, and he'll take his' quadzilla. What do you guys think? I hope they show up.Not for sure they will.
Posted by: RDZ350
It's hard to explain.I live in Paragould,Ar.,and I can get there in about 15 minutes.Paragould is in the northeast corner of Ar.It's just mainly a place to hang out at.You can ride down the creek. Some people go out to the gravel pit.Sunday is when the most people normally show up.Not a big crowd today though. Some drag racing goes on back at the paved road that's near the creek. You're taking a chance doing it because cops come though every once in awhile. If you guys ever want to go,just let me know in advance.Jeeps are pretty popular out there too.4-wheel drives go down the creek normally with no problem. After a big rain, that can change.Quads make it down easy. This is not an atv park.Just some where to go and do a little riding. There is a bluff that 4-wheel drives try to climb.I think getting to the top is impossible, but they try.Did a little racing today myself.I raced against my brother's quadzilla,my friend's piped banshee, and a piped yfz 450.I done good.We wasn't racing a long distance, but my buddy on the banshee said I put about 8 bike lengths on him.His banshee run good for a piped banshee.Good day.
Posted by: RDZ350
Hey guys,I just got a yamaha blaster.Too cheap to pass up so I got it.It needs some work, but that's no big deal.I just have the quad and no engine yet.Should get the engine next week.It definitely needs a top end rebuild. He said the crank was bad,but don't know that for sure yet.I plan to rebuild it,get the cylinder ported, and an aftermarket pipe.I'm thinking either a toomey or cpi pipe.I want to also get new tires and aluminum wheels.I think my wife might start racing/riding it.Don't want her racing the banshee, but the blaster will be alot better for her to learn how to use a clutch. What do you think?Any suggestions?
Posted by: RDZ350
You'll definitely will want to see the after pictures, because the before pictures.Well let's just say it needs some work.Really though, the frame doesn't need painting.Plastic is in fair condition. So it's not bad. It's a '93 model I think.White plastic with a green seat.My wife is talking about racing it when I get done with it.I'll have the banshee. She'll have the blaster.A family that races together, stays together.LOL!
Posted by: RDZ350
I'd appreciate that wildcat.StrongtyerYFZ,I was hoping to get a responce from ya.I know I'm going to rebuild the topend and get it ported. Also plan on a bigger carb.A JTM 5 in. extension for the swingarm will be ordered when I get the money. It's needing alot of little things.Nuts and bolts missing.Bike cleaned up pretty good today.Very dirty.Funny how much a little work can improve a quads looks.Do you guys know who I should get to port it?Any other suggestions?
Posted by: RDZ350
I have to keep it rideable. Not an all out drag bike.I want to to hang close to my brother's v-force.She really likes riding the v-force.Don't need it any faster than the Kawi.Pretty sure it will take more than a pipe. The v-force is by no means a slow poke.I have to set a limit of how fast it can be due to the fact my wife will be learning how to ride a quad with a clutch.I know she can, just need to build up her confidence. What do you guys think it will take for a blaster to hang with a v-force?
Posted by: RDZ350
I talked to F.A.S.T. racing. He said he could get a blaster to beat stock banshees. To me that's impressive considering the blaster is only 200c.c.Sure it won't beat my banshee, but I don't expect it to.Why would I?I want a bike I don't have to worry about my wife riding.Sure all of them can be dangerous, but I think the banshee is too much for her right now.
I'm probably going back to George Ray's drag strip this sunday.I think it's going to be a hot day.I think around 95 degress. To me,that's hot.Still want to see if I can get some better times.Low 8's at least.I'll also be taking my wifes Polaris. At the newport dragstrip it run a 11.09.Oh,scary fast!It was bone stock then.It has a few mods. now so maybe it's a little faster.
The reason I said probably going to george ray's is because it's between george's and newport.Newport is alot more quad friendly. They will even make a class for ya if enough bikes show up.It's bracket racing so the fastest bike doesn't do the winning all the time.Actually the automatics most likely will have the advantage.I prefer newport, but george's is like 10 minutes from my house.I'll let you know where we go.Anyone interested?
Posted by: RDZ350
With the mods. you've done, what bikes can it hang with? This is when you're riding it.That is if you can ride better than your GF.LOL!! How does it do with the 400EX's,Z400's,etc...?
Posted by: RDZ350
We'll I got the engine last wednesday.Man does it need work. The piston and cylinder are in bad shape.Definitely need boring and a new piston. Here's where it get's really bad.The crank is locked up.The rod will move, but the crank won't.It looks like someone has had the top end off of the engine and left it outside.I'll most likely get a new crank and rod as well as a new piston. It will be ported also. The head will receive work too. This will be the first engine I've been in that splits side to side. The banshee split top to bottom.Any advice?Don't want to split it and parts go every where.
Posted by: RDZ350
We're going to george rays sunday.Plan to be there between 11:30 and 12.
Posted by: RDZ350
Hey YFZ sounds like they are just jealous of you or pulling your chain.JEALOUSY:what an ugly thing.Tell them to have the nerve and confess who they are on this forum. We'll take care of them.If they give you to much trouble tell them to either put up or shut up.They probably just have a moto-4 with a sticker kit.OOOOOH,scary!!! If they are really sure they could beat ya,they would fess to who they are.Think it might be one of the arkansas riders or someone else.Who knows?
Posted by: RDZ350
Hey ridinsmooth,I was there sunday.I got there about 3 or 4.I still had the struts on I run at the track. It like to beat me to death.LOL!!! I was hanging out at the bluff with my brother.I was on my banshee and he was on his quadzilla.Let me know the next time you go out there.
I talked to a guy out at george rays sunday. He said he was from Trumman.Don't remember his name, and he said he owned a raptor. He didn't know you.Hope to meet up with you sometime,as well as the rest of ya.Do you still have the gas-gas?I'd like to see that quad.
Posted by: RDZ350
Still not sure. What was his last name. What time was you there sunday?

I think the aftermarket companies has actually hurt the gas-gas.I don't think hardly anyone has made aftermarket parts for it.When the YFZ come out,it seemed everyone was making pipes for it.Now you can get a different cam,big-bore kit,porting,etc...For some reason they never showed much interest in the gas-gas.That's a shame too.It is one of the few 2-strokes still being made, and it could have been a real success. Most people that buy sport quads will sooner or later want to modifiy it.I bought my banshee because the possibilities of making it faster was just about endless. It might be that the companies only build parts for quads they think they can sell the most of.It would be more profitable. The YFZ has got more of the spot light than the gas-gas.At least you see it more often in the magazines.

Maybe I'll see ya next time.Did you have fun at the creek?See any sport quads. There should have been a yellow and red 250R and a yellow 400EX on nitrous out there about the time you was there.Lee rides the 400 and Nick rides the 250.Believe it or not,I'm pretty sure the 400 will outrun the 250.It has to be sprayed to do it though.I haven't had the chance to run either of them yet.

Any idea when you might make it back out to the creek?I might go this weekend. Not sure though. Most likely if I go,I'll take my wifes polaris.
Posted by: RDZ350
I work at anchor packaging here in Paragould. Not my ideal job,but it pays the bills.
I'm probably not going to get the banshee back out till I get some new clutches. At least I still got the polaris. No where near as fast, but still fun to ride.Beats walking.LOL!
Posted by: RDZ350
If you're ever out there and don't see me,you might look for my brother. He'll most likely be riding his' LT500 or a green v-force.
Posted by: RDZ350
That's a good thing I hope.

i agree accidents can happen in drag racing but i dont think drag racing is known for accidents... its known for speed.

im sure there are some pretty wild crashes in drag racing but i just havent really seen any. with all that power some of the drag racing quads have one false move could cause loss of control and then BAM! there is no such thing as a "good" crash but there is such a thing as a bad crash. the worse they are the more exciting they are to see... as long as no one gets hurt...

all i was trying to say is that the conversation was just you and RDZ for a while and it sounded like the type of conversation you would do over PM. i wasnt complaining or saying that you were wasting space. thats why i put a smiley at the end. i wasnt trying to be a jerk or anything. just nevermind it. oh, and no offense taken.

awesome, so your talking about drag racing it? wait, im sure you are... thinking about any other engine work. boring, porting.... ive seen some pictures of drag blasters that didnt really look like blasters.... more like banshees. they had pretttttyy big swingarms too so im sure they CAN go fast with some work... well not as fast as a banshee but you get the picture. cool tho, GL with that... and get some pics
Posted by: strongtyerYFZ
i know what you mean about how a little work can improve a quads looks. i clean up my blaster every so often and try and get all the dirt/ cow crap/ whatever off of it and it looks a lot nicer afterwards. cant wait to see pics of the finished product RDZ. ask banshee392 about porting and what not. he will be happy to tell ya. hollywood dirt may be good. i know they build good blaster engines. may be expensive tho. there is also another person who has a built/ building a MX blaster that is way nice but i cant think of his SN right off the top of my head. maybe someone else will know. i think his real name is Shane.... i dont know...
Posted by: strongtyerYFZ
i just remembered the guys name. its shav0. good luck. oh, and RDZ, i dont know if you have or have not seen the video i made btu its in the yamaha forum. do a search for "finally" and youll find it. if you wanna see. sorry if ive been telling everyone about it in different threads but i was happy to get it up and share it. i put hard work into editing it...

wow, thats a pretty nice blaster. i would deffinently go with a 240 kit cuz its going to be hard to get it to hang with a V-Force.i wouldnt really know tho. im sure its possible. just may take a lot of work.
its ok ridinsmooth, dont cry... wait, what do i carej/k

95 is plenty hot. expecially when its humid. dang. its supposed to be in the 90's here as welli think that is impressive is a blaster could beat a stock banshee. should be fun for your wife
