Ready to put your foot in your mouth?

The kfx 400 is the same bike as the z400 and dvx400. 400cc dohc 4 stroke with manual clutch and 5 speed transmission and reverse.

You are thinking of the kfx700, which btw, will outrun the kfx 400 even being a fully automatic cvt driven sport quad weighing 516 pounds dry.

I wont even start on snowmobile engined atvs with belt driven automatic transmissions.

Both are really great quads,

400ex- Not as much maintnance needed, VERY reliable, great on tight trails, very stable and doesn't tip easy.

kfx400- fast, nimble, reliable, a little more tipsy then the EX but if ur a good rider it doesn't matter.

If you want a good trail quad that you don't want to work on much go with the EX, but if you want a little more of a performance quad I would go with the KFX.

What's your question? Which one is better, is that your question? If it is, the KFX will take it here, it's more powerful than the EX, handles better now since they added better suspension to the 05's. The honda is just outdated, and the KFX has newer technology in it.

if only honda worked on engine upgrades instead of reverse and 450r plastics

Kfx is an all-around better quad

man u must feel dumb after saying that

if the kfx is exactly like the z it is a little better than the ex and isnt top heavy at all

Yea, KFX700's rip.

I am trying to decide between that or a '05 Predator. I just dont know if Id like the auto tranny. Plus Ill be MXing as well. I just dont know yet.

Out of the quads you listed, get the KFX400. It is a better performer, the '05s have better suspension (rezzies), and more up-to-date than the 400EX is.

I dont think they are tippy at all. They have a good design and all the levers/controls are placed really well. They also slide very well. I dont think they are tippy one bit. They may sit higher than a 400EX, but they arent tippy.

Im getting in line for this one, he can run my "stab and steer" rubber band quad also.

ok i own both the z400 and the 400ex
the z400 is all around a better quad for whatever you are doing
the only thing i hate on the z400 is the swinger.that f ing chain adjuster is the biggest hunk of garbage that i ever saw in my life
it has been giving me trouble for a couple years now so when my brother totalled it i bougjht all new lonestar parts for it
swinger, stem, axle etc etc and now i have no worrries
400ex is very very reliable but cant touch anything thats out there today

i was undecided between the 3 bikes, EX,KFX,Z.i eliminated the EX and i know the KFX and Z are the same exact bike with different plastics.
i read someone's review on the KFX and they said that it doesnt have a choke.is that true?i'd rather get the orange KFX but if it doesnt have a choke i guess im going to go with the yellow Z
