I once met a tree hugger that got the livin' snot kicked out of her trying to "save" a runaway horse. I guess she thought she could make friends with it or something, but that horse wrecked her with a good kick, lol. She definately got what she deserved.

Please note sarcasm in my previous post. MotoF150 was pretty vigorously flamed in a previous post for some trespassing issues he has/had.

A few of you are pretty inmature and pots calling the kettles black.
I may not allways follow the rules to the teeeeee, but some of you sound like your as bad as the enviromentalist out there. Lets get serious for a bit here, the lady with the horse, I meen come on, she had it comming. I hope that if an atv rider wrecks out on the trail and the rider gets hurt, that the hiker, biker or horse back rider near by doesn't have the "look at that idiot who crashed , woooohh, they deserved that!" and then ride off while you lay injured.
I have a feeling that someone will probably reply to my post in a negative way and thats ok ,I don't care. But maybe just maybe someone might see my point.
One fly cowboy don't you also ride horses?

Sweet. that means more people would Die.. thus less pollution in the long run

Extremists of anygroup generally have their heads lodged in their asses so deep you may wanna offer to Shove a bottle up their ass so they have a window to look out.

My favorite tree hugger story is the woman at a public hearing a few years ago in northeast Wisconsin. She wanted a snowmobile trail closed because the noise from snowmobiles was disturbing trees during their winter sleep.

Yes, some value trees more than human life.

No, its all about protecting the rights for everybody, what gives you the right to destroy land, pollute drinking water so you can ride your ATV? and ATV's are dangerous, every weekend there are news reports of accicents and deaths, the quicker we ban ATV's the better and safter it is for everybody, we know whats best for you.
ok maybe its just me but MotoF150 is talking about banning atvs and saving the environment yet he owns one maybe its just me but im confused

I own an ATV too, but I ride it in a responsible manner, its "YOU" guys that will ruin it for everybody, use ur common sence, don't litter, don't ride thru creeks, stay off of any watershed property, stop cutting trees down, don't smoke or drink beer, don't start fires in the woods.
Posted by: MotoF150
I own an ATV but I have great respect for the area I ride at, my backyard borders a big area of woods thats a watershed area that supplies drinking water, the water run off is protected by the topsoil, when the topsoil is exposed it pollutes the drinking water with acid, lead, and sulfur. Creeks that supply fresh, clean drinking water have 2 bridges made for ATV's to cross. Over the years some of the bad ATV riders destroyed these bridges and they ride across the creeks, they bring coolers full of beer, they make campfires with old tires, they dig up new trails, they chop trees down, now nobody is permitted to ride in that area anymore cause of the damage that has been done. Im pissed about it cause I respected the area and im not allowed there, just a few bad ones ruined it for everybody. If im not allowed to ride in that area I dammm make sure nobody else is, I watch that area like a hawk, when I see or hear any atv or dirt bike there im on the phone calling the cops and I take pictures and im there pointing out who it is. And when the Police Officer hands out a $300 trasspassing fine im standing right there laughing! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Tree huggers are so worried about 4-wheelers polluting the environment that they forget that we are not the only reason and we are not the biggest reason for pollution.

Being concern about the environmental is important. Ranchers, farmers, and most public land users are concern about our environment. They see a balance and usually understand they all have a share in the our land and it's future. It's Environmental Extremists that suck. Environmental Extremists will spike trees to kill loggers to save beetle sick trees. Environmental Extremists will use explosives to injury people at corrals to stop the gather of over grazed wild horses. Environmental Extremists will bomb public building to stop public meetings. Environmental Extremist use arson on homes, public buildings, and cars to get their point across. Environment Extremists see no balance.
Environmental Extremists would rather see all people die to assure that every organism grow or roam wild and free.

Drivers of automobiles kill more people every day than just drivers of ATVs. Commercial trucking delivering food and supplies throughout the world pollute even at a higher rate than ATVs. Most hoseback riders need trucks to pull their horse trailers to trail heads. Hikers don't just appear on the land, most use some type of gasoline transportation on a paved highway. Off highway users don't just appear too. ATVs and motorcycles get there somehow too. Our waste from yards at homes, factories, buildings, businesses, drain onto paved roads. Paved roads and highway drain our pollution into our rivers and oceans too. Off highway users don't need all plants removed, soil cleared, and paved.

One Fly Cowboy, Wow! I'm impressed with your ability / dune photos. Is that Moses Lake area? It's hard to focus on extreme environmentalist when I saw your photos. I'm inspired. Makes a person want to go ride, even though I'm not in that league.

Your right about extremists, I'm just to political correct to say it.
On your new machine are you changing out the suspension?
Where is Horsefall Dunes from Florence?
Do you ever ride the Sumpter Oregon Annual Poker Run? This year on June 10th, 2006.

i just felt like tellin u guys that, its kind of funny too because my aunt is kinda tree huggerish and would rather roll her car than hit a squrill that darts out from the side of the road, so yea shes pretty into huggin some trees

yes, the trees must live, even if it means my own life, haha hippies are stupid

When I purchace a new ATV I put my trust that the Engineer that designed it has more brains than me. When you guys say you ride hard Im betting most of you guys could not keep up with me, I ride my little Eiger thru the woods at a very fast pace, I hit a river crossing at high speed so I have the speed to get it up a muddy vertical river bank, I take it up a hill climb thats sooo steep that if you stop in the middle or you don't make it ur atv will roll down and be destroyed, please don't tell me you ride hard cause I know if many of you guys ride in the conditions I ride you would chicken out. I know this for a fact, Im a hardened rider used to tough trails, when I go on poker runs across the state I find all of the poker run trails very easy with no tough challenge but most of the other riders there have problems and get scared and I think these poker runs are boring and easy.
Is the same guy that is worried about the watersheds????? I hope somebody catches you calling the cops on them and kicks you in the balls.

tree huggers need to leave atvs alone, its not us that u need to worry about its the loggers that cut down all the trees, atv riders just want to ride and thats going to eventually fade away if all the trees are cut down,so i say stop messing with atv riders and start talking to loggers!!!!!

Wow. Are people really this ignorant?
Yes, extremists on BOTH sides suck, and I have only seen the ignorant, selfish, deluded and uneducated hillbilly side of the spectrum represented thus far.
You people need to realize that there is INDEED room for both logging, atvs, and environmental support and restoration. You need to realize there is a balance in life. If everyone stops being ignorant and considers both sides may have the right intention, but lack knowledge or maturity to properly form a conclusion, we could have civil discussion and make smart decisions for all.
Calling out anyone in support of our ecosystem and environment as a "tree hugger" and absolutely dismissing them is as retarded as the extremist who decides to shoot loggers. It saddens me to see everyone thinks you HAVE to be an extremist on either side, instead of providing a contribution.
Have some respect and dignity in your life regardless of your stance, and maybe try and start working towards a solution.

I once hugged a tree before starting my chain saw. just took 70 trees off my property here.

oh god i saw this thread and thought it was normal. yes tree huggers suck. they suck.. way over kill. they take it to extremes. i was casually reading thru this. then low and behold. motormouth 150 is here. isnt anything sacred. god this gy is a hack. this gy is an idiot. wich im sure u fellas see. just do a google search on his name. and yes u will find he is an idiot. any how. back to this post. i have to agree with u gys. tree huggers have a problem. and yes. down with hippys.. no hippys.. ban atv,s. yea thats the answer.. man it just gets better. how about ban hippys, tree huggers, and motormouth hows that sound

MujZeptu i agree with you. there needs to be a happy med. when i lived in indiana there were lots of "trails" that were cracked down on in a matter of 4 months because ignorant people were tearing them up, and vandalizing adjoining private property, tearing up planted feilds, and even in once tring to pull down a rail road bridge. me and my friends had rode these trails for 2 years prior, and my uncles had rode them for an untold amount of years and none of us ever had a problem. well after these kids moved in town and seen us riding on them they started to, they seemed like all right bunch, a little crazy, but all right. well after the first 2 weeks i relized we were goign to have a problem. and when i went to talkt o them about it, not such nice people now, behold 3 1/2 months later dnr would write tickets if they cought you on the land. and the whole town seen atv'rs as A$&*le ignorant people. never been the same. this made me mad, but never to the point of abolishign atv's or hawking on any one on a fourwheer just to call the police or dnr. come on thats childish. i feel that you will always have the ignorant poeple no matter where u are or what your doing. i'm in the coast guard and we have SOOO many ignorant boaters. that doesn't mean that boats should be out-lawed, just means that i have a job. haha. i have a boat and when i'm out on mine and i see people breaking rules some times they just dont know and are willing to learn, that doesn't mean that i'm gunna go dress out in LE GEAR and give thema ticket. some people need a nudge and others need more. what i'm tyring ot say is nothign will be perfect so people need to be less judgemental. on what a few atv's have done and look at us in a whole and see that most of us use are head.
oh yeah and mottof150 i think u just look for confintains, this isn't the first i have seen with you in it being "special" but i do wish it was the last.

motof150 knows what he is talking about i mean i lov riding atvs i wanna design them one day but u do have to respect our enviroment but woodsracer is correct to we need to stop loggers too they are logging into places that they dont need to be logging we need trees for oxygen.. but we do need to be careful of where we ride becouse underground water is important but woodsracer do rember that trees need water to grow were do u think they get there water from?????
