Come on now Weeze... just when we have you acting like a law abiding citizen and able to communicate facts and truths without the emotions running wild, you go off the deep end again.... You really need to act responsibly.. If MN has issues, you need to take direct action.. and do so in a professional and adult manner. One of the biggest things that the legislators and local officials notice is when ATV enthusiasts show up and are actually quite civil in their remarks.. and the environmental groups get up and spew fire and brimstone and total lies. They know the difference, and they know that they can work with the enthusiasts.. and we are seeing positive results because of it. It took more that a few days to get into this position.. and it is going to take a lot more meetings and negoitations to get the issues fixed. Keep the faith dude... things are changing...
It is your home state... You have the most to gain... and lose. You need to play an active part, but do it with a professional and respectful voice and attitude. Don't expect to win every battle. Expect to lose a few, and compromise on many more... it all adds up...

So why not lobby your state Representatives for a special "ATV" owner's plate that puts the $30 extra dollars into an ATV trail building fund? After all, all we are asking for is equal time right?

There will be a public hearing to amend an ordinance that
currently bans ATV use in the City of North Branch, MN.
The proposed amendment will allow use in county ditches
ONLY within the city limits. The city passed the original
ordinance in DECEMBER 2004 without any public input, and
found out later that they do not have jurisdiction over
county road ditches.
Carla Waletzko, Triple 4 ATV Club President and ATVAM 2nd
Vice President, will be representing local ATV users at the
public hearing.
YOUR ATTENDANCE AND SUPPORT IS REQUESTED.

your right minnesota does have to many laws when it comes to atv's i am glad to see the people are starting to stand up to some of this stuff and finally say no i guess you could say there is power in numbers if we stick together we can accomplish alot

you guys are right minnesota the birthplace of arctic cat and polaris has gotta be the worst state to be harassed in and the one to have the most idiotic laws. even when it comes to hunting and fishing they have complete idiotic rules and regulations. for this same reason i am thinking of moving to north dakota but the only thing keeping me from it is the fact that up in northern minnesota i can drive my atv down mainstreet and meet a cop and they just wave at me so it isn't bad here but if the dnr seen me i guarantee i would be sitting my butt in court. very valid point made on the bird situation and the roads being mowed frequently so that motorists can see deer and other wildlife and so that it isn't so wild looking, but if we drive our atv's down there is is a sin. apparently the tractors they use don't leave ruts apparently the water that flows in the ditches don't corrode away the soil but atv's leaving a couple tracks is aweful for everyone lets ban them all.

i know DB i go off the deep end sometimes but it is very very frustrating. and well my 1 year plan is to actually move to south dakota thinking of moving to rapid city. very nice town i love that part of SD. and i read an interesting article in the paper can't find the article i will look harder tonight. it was basically about those license plates you can buy the environmental ones i dunno if anyone has them or just minnesota. but they got loons and stuff on them and you pay an extra 30 dollars or more a year to have them and they go towards keeping the environment more i guess you could say natural. well the dnr matches whatever they raise so since 1997 they have raised together a grand total of 26 million dollars in minnesota. well they use that money to buy up a bunch of land and deem it off limits to all motorized vehicles and logging and everything but you can still hunt the land but can't even break a twig or nothing. well like this guy said the more land they buy up the less we have for riding. i don't dissagree with keeping our outdoors natural but i feel that one lil fourwheeler trail isn't gonna bother anything and yes keep it all natural but give us the chance to enjoy it as well. i appologize DB and everyone else in here for getting upset but issues like these do tend to get me worked up and i guess it is better to get worked up then to show no emotion at all.

good point DB i will have to see if i can find out what her e-mail address is.

IMO! minnesota just flat out sucks for riding, at least the southern half, theres so many laws its pathetic, we cant do anything, i wanna move to wisconsin! i hate getting on my quad being worried everysingle time i ride off private property that i'll get nailed by a DNR or some other officer. ditches close tomorrow dont they? april 1st?
Posted by: Polaris600
I sent a few e-mails. If this passes it will probably be the one of many more cities that will try to do the same.
Posted by: Polaris600
Glad it wasnt passed. Minnesota is already too restrictive on ATV's. But I have been reading people are trying to make it even worse for us riders.
Posted by: Polaris600
Yeah April 1st they closed in the "Agricultural Zone." Its so stupid because the reason we cant ride in the ditches is because of nesting birds. But the allow mowing of the ditches at anytime.
