be careful with the pressure washer i was pressure washing my Z and all the sudden the tank decal went flying accross the yard...

I warm ours up, wet it, spray it down with simple green or the likes. Let it sit a few minutes and start wiping it with a rag. Usually takes majority of it off. After hosing it down, I spray it down with wd-40 and wipe off the excess.

It comes in a purple jug and is less than $6.00 at wal mart. Just be sure and wear gloves when using any of this stuff. And in reply to the spraying water in the tail pipe I don't think I will be doing that any time soon, wouldn't that be contraindicated anyways? Thanks to all who gave helpful input.

Thanks for the reply on what you found best. I will be sure to try it next time.

Agreed, thats what we normally do on our way home from riding. It gets the big stuff off anyway.

Make sure you spray inside the exhaust pipe to get all the mud outta there

Okay, I just bought an atv from a buddy of mine and it has dried clay and mud all over the engine and undercarriage.
I got the thick stuff off but now it seems as if the rest is "baked" on. What would be the best solution to clean this crap off? It really makes the bike look like crap and it's not even a year old.
Thanks
