The only way to sign up for gmail is if someone invites you. Gmail is also good as a public email address, one you use on message boards and free trials, where you want to avoid spam. I started like that, but liked it so much I switched to it completely.

google earth is a good program yes...I like to use it...I actually if several different things marked down on it....
what I really want to do is get a gps unit that can hook up to the lap top, drive around a random town..and pick up ALL the wireless network points, and then save them to google earth...just for s and gs

I too have 100 invites but already given myself 5 accounts. 2.5Gigs, good spam filtering. In my opinion the best free service out there

I actually used google earth for something useful once. There is a powerline road near my house, and the general store is just in front of a powerline road. So I waypointed the cut near my house and the cut behind the store and entered the coordinates in google as markers. Lo and behold, they were on the same woodcut about 2 miles apart.
Unfortunatly, the terrain on that powerline was too rough to cross. Rolled a wheeler on the tippy stuff, smashed my radiator on a rock, and found some invisible mud that was instantly over the racks (high grass, was NOT expecting that).

you can also join gmail if u have a cell phone u tell em ur phone number and they send a txt to ur phone then u do what it tells u to takes like 1 minute
