I think I'd still have to say it's time to move on. Call it an experience to grow from, and find someone else… Kind of nice, though, that she isn&39;t calling you the biggest a-hole in the world.
My advice would still be to go out and have some fun.

Likewise, a buddy of mine has been married for several years, and a while back a girl he used to know called him up… and told him she would be dropping off the 9 year old son he didn&39;t know he had… (and I was LMAO).
If I were you, I'd be doing the casual dating thing and having fun. Just use your head, and be up front about it so as not to hurt anyone.

If you put this in perspective, she didn't want to keep going out with you, she apparently tried to put it in the nicest terms possible, and she even went out on a limb and made herself vulnerable by telling you she loves you and that she cried about the break up…
Sounds like she might have been really falling for you, and maybe she realized your futures would go in different directions and it would just be more painful to split later...
You are at a cross road and you need to decide if you want to find some other girl and flaunt her in front of the ex in a deliberate attempt to hurt her feelings more, or do you want to act like an adult and just move on?
P.S. As far as the "just friends" thing goes, been there, done that. It might work OK to chat once in a while, but I wouldn't recommend hanging out a lot. 2 reasons.
1- It could turn off other girls who might want to date you, who don't know where you and the ex really stand.
2- The bad feelings you have now will just repeat when one of you starts dating someone else.

RC, sometimes you truly suprise me and that's a good thing. You are one of only two women I know that think that way. May be theres hope for the world after all. Yes some, but not all men are guilty of that.
I look at it this way...everyone makes mistakes, especially in relationships, and when your partner makes a mistake, uses bad judgement, or was even just being drunk and stupid, you basically have two choices...you can either forgive them and let it go, or you can dwell on it and make your partner and yourself misserable. I prefer to let things go...why dwell on the past when you can't change it?
