I agree that the firemen and police that are out there do a great job, and I respect them, I know that 9/11 was a tragedy...but yet, things like that happen EVERY day...but not to us...You may critisize me for feeling this way, but I think it is time to move on...4 years is long enough. Please dont take affence to this, i do feel extremly bad about what happend to the firemen and police, but I just...I odnt know...I am sick of hearing about it really...

No one needs to defend me. It is in his total opinion that he wants me to rot in hell...there for, he can say that. Just like it was my opninon on the whole me sick of hearing about it. I also stated that I did not mean to offend anyone. If camo belives that I am in wrong, let him belive that....But I am sticking to my guns

i argee that we cant stand idly by when things like that happen...I dont think terrioists should have the right to stay alive...I think they should capture them and "put them down."
I think i am just going to watch this thread and not respond any more in fear of starting an argument. Again, if i have offended anyone, I truly am sorry.

Wow......... Ditto what TP said.........
A little extreme don't ya think............... with respect to MNFRIESEN anyway...
It's not like he was being disrespectful to you or anyone.
He didn't say anything about forgetting what happen, just tired of hearing about.
He's entitled to his opinion without getting kicked upside the head.
GEEEEEEZZZZZ
Ask any of the firefighters from New York and most of them will say the same thing.
They'll never forget, nor do they want to............
But they honestly do get tired of hearing about it and just want to move on.
That was undoubtably one of the worst days in our history, nobody will ever forget it.
Posted by: Quad4Fun
You are all right.........
We should, and will, remember that day for the rest of our lives. No doubt about it.
A memorial every year is definately not out of place or over doing it.
For those that don't like hearing about it all the time, you are absolutely right that you are entitled to your opinion, and if that is how you feel, so be it. Nothing wrong with that.
I think the producers and TV folks have done a good job to no exploit it and use it for personal gain.
It's been long enough now that they feel "it's time" to start talking about it.
I think they are trying to do a good job to be sensitive to the family and loves on the victims, adn I hope they do. I hope they do some good, mostly factual movies and documentaries on it.
I like hearing about the folks that lost their lives, hearing about the folks that did "heroic" things to try and help/save people, etc. etc.
That is just my opinion img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, and should be able to express it, and engage in discussion with others that may not necessarily agree. We can and should all understand that.
MN,
I don't think we were necessarily "defending" you.
refer to my comments above........ I think the way he responded to you was totally uncalled for.
We've seen personal attacks in other topics similar to that one.
There is no reason for personal attacks like that on here.
By doing that, I think he was "hijacking" the topic by doing that. Trying to pi$$ people off, be disrepctful, etc.
In My Opinion, that goes beyond expressing your opinion......
This topic will have some good discussion if we just be nice img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

This is the comment that started this the whoel pi$$ing match. There was no reason for that, as has been said.
Express your opinion, but my gosh, no need direct that kind of comment towards somebody on here.
IMO, that was a little drastic considering the circumstances..........
---------------
Yeah I agree with you on one point CAMO,
"show me where this stuff happens everyday"
The terrorist act that happen on 9/11 DOES NOT happen everyday.....
Especially in this country.......
That act should never be forgotten, 9/11 should fuel our fire and reiterate why we should never give up and continue doing everything we can to go after and hunt down the terrorist and their leaders.
As you see on the news, there are terrorist acts almost daily, somewhere in the world.
BUT NOT TO THE SCALE OF 9/11........
We will never be able to stop them, no matter what anybody says, period.
We hunt down as many terrorist as we can and exterminate them, but they will keep coming.
We can only do the best we can, we'll never totally get rid of them.
If people are tired of hearing is, so be it. I think even the folks that have said on this topic that they are tired of hearing about it, have aslo said we shouldn't forget it about. They just don't want to hear about it. I don't agree with them, but that is their right to express that opinion.
Look at the major events in world history, or other famous people or events....
We hear about them all the time, there are many many movies and documentaries on them. And on TV all the time.......... We are inundated with our history and historical events, is that a bad thing. I don't think so.
Pearl Harbor, World War I, World War II, Vietnam, Korea, sinking of the Titanic, The Beatles, past natural disasters, Hurricane Katrina will be talked about for many many years, etc etc etc. You get the point.
9/11 is not different. It was a major significant event in US (and the world) history, you will hear about it forever. It's not going away.
MnFriesen,
no need to worry about offending people.... In my opionion anyway, you didn't come across that way.
I don't think you started the argument, or on purpose anyway

It doesn't seem that long ago does it.
Just a historical fact:
2,403 people were killed in Pearl harbor
2,819 people were killed on 9/11
I think that clearly justifies 9/11 as a signifcant event in US history.......
As you said, god bless all those folks killed and/or affected by this tragedy.
Down the list you will see the number of retirees from FDNY, doesn't mention the cops or anybody else though. Also doesn't mention the trauma done to all the members of the rescue effort. There were many casualties from that. Both suicides and post traumatic stress disorder.
There are many AMERICANS that survived and/or contributed to helping in some form.
THANK YOU ALLimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

There are many words to describe the video that was taken that day..................
I've seen some unedited video that is utterly undescribable..............
I don't think just one word can describe it.........
It is hard to imagine what all those people left in the Towers were thinking and going through, must of been hell.
To jump from 70-80-90 floors up....WOW
What could have been going through the minds of those still alive when it collapsed, of which many of them were..
How could we ever forget that day ..........I don't think you can.............

I still remember where i was when this happend. i was in my 2nd hour history class. we all watched on tv as the second plane hit and when the towers fell. its just something i personaly will not forget nor will try!

yea, i understand wat u mean (sounds kinda sick but i understand, lol) but i dont think it would be that easy. kuz if u just go running around the face of the planet killing a bunch of terrorists.... they will form a group and rebell and it will become worse. so i wouldnt go around killing people like that. its like pouring gas onto a fire.

Have you ever poured gas on a fire? God that's so much fun, but you really gotta throw it more than pour. What I do is put about 1 1/2 to 2 gallons in a 5 gallon bucket then put a couple quarts of oil in there (helps it stick to target better and burn longer) then quickly throw onto fire and turn mouth of bucket away. You can instantaneously feel this pressure and extreme heat on the side that's facing the fire. What a rush. I'm usually drunk at a bonfire when I do this. Anyways something has to be done to get rid of them. They have every right to have their feelings. But they have no right at all to act upon them when they harm another person or violate basic human rights. In fact I believe that those who have, or conspired to, or have been involved in planning or financial support or any other aspect of terrorist attacks have given up their own rights. I really have no problem with the torture or killing of these scumbags. You can not say that torturing these people in order to get information to save Americans lives(Or anyone else's for that matter.) is unfair. Is it unfair to put a dog down that has bitten people (and if it could talk, threaten to bite as many people as it can) ? No!!!!! It's actually law in most places. So a dog that bites one person will be put down, but a terrorist that participates in killing thousands of innocent people has rights ? You can not convince me of that. They are lower than dogs, and from what I here saying that is one of the biggest insults you can throw their way. I don't have the answers, I just know something needs to be done about them.
yes, i learned that u dont POUR gas onto a fire the hard way, haha. one time i was burning a skateborad with my friend an i poured more gas and the fire went into the tank so i threw it and his whole lawn caught on fire so i kiked it thinking it would go out but it just made a bigger fire and then i finally kame up with an idea and i took the skateborad and put it in front of the hole of the gas tank so it wouldnt get oxygen and it died and my friend stomped off the rest of the fire that was on his lawn. extremely stupid idea. at least it didnt get outa control though, thank god for that.

CamoKid - Unfortunatley I am sorry that we have - just lucky enough that we where spared the tragedy that thousands of others are enduring. I understand what you are saying - I feel that America is slowly forgetting what happened, what we are doing now and why. To easy to blame Bush for everything and say it is for oil - BULL SHI#!!!!! If we had not gone to war and told the rest of the world that we are not going to take SHI# from them - imagine where we would be today as a country. Regardless if you are tired of hearing about it take empathy on your fellow American that still is working through it - let them talk - let them vent - let them feel sorrow for lost ones - let them be them. I am not going to get into the horror that was on that day - i will not get into what my family went through - I will tell you that when there is a loss such as this it takes years to recover. My mother passed away unexpectadly February of 2004 from cancer - trust me when I say I am not over it - that I need to talk about it - that I still feel sorrow beyond belief in my heart - and I will never forget the smells, sounds and sights of Cleveland Clinic - NEVER!!!! I can tell you every detail. now imagine a city the size of N.Y.C. and how secure they felt in the good ol US of A going about there business never suspecting a thing to have that happen - and the sights, sounds and smells that we can not even begin to understand. Now try to understand how someone can feel as strongly as Camo does - I do - not to the point of wanting MnFriesen to rot in hell but to the point that I dont respect him as much - just how I feel.
