Normally you would register your motor vehicle in the state in which you also reside!
I don't think that bikes are any different, even that far east! :-)

That is true, however, Mass does not recognize out of state registrations. Therefore to ride in Mass in the state forests, you must register in Mass.
Doesn't sound fair does it?

I'm not sure about your predicament, but just be glad you don't live in NY. I registered my quad in january when I bought it. The registrations for NY atv's all expire on 4/30 of the current year. So I paid $10 in January and now I will have to pay $10 again in April. They don't prorate for the 3 months that I payed 12 months worth of registration for. I asked them (DMV) if I registered an ATV on 4/29, if it would expire on 4/30. There reply was "sucks don't it"
I know in NY, snowmobiles from another state have to be registered in NY to operate in NY. I'm not sure about ATV's

Same thing here in NY, no legal place to ride. PA
riders have ATV nirvana with all the ride spots their state allows. We pay registration fees in NY and they blow the money on anything but trails.
I belong to a club, NYTRO, that has been working to get trails here for years. So if anyone from NY wants to help get trails join a club and help shed our outlaw image.
