how long are you going and what type of trails?

I always bring the tools you will likely need, an extra spark plug, tire repair kit, some zip ties, extra fuel, reggie and insurance cards, riding gear, extra clothes for the ride home, an extra $20.00 or so, maps/directions, snacks and drinks, and at least a small first aid kit. Any time I will be further than a 10/15 minute walk to my truck, I usually wear a backpack with some of the above stuff. Otherwise most of it stays with the truck.

Nah, I just hate to drive 2+ hours one way and then ruin a day of riding because of something preventable/fixable. Usually I only carry the tire repair stuff, cell phone, and the quads tool kit. At least someone in the group should be carrying a tow strap also.
So there are two more items to add to the list- tow strap and cell phone.

Best thing is a friend on another quad.
Definetly water, and a map.

I ride in the trails around my house. Under my seat and on the racks I always have cell phone, spark plugs, tow strap, tire compressor, clevises, snatch block, gloves, flashlight, first aid kit, bungee straps, GPS, and I always ride with someone else.
And I wouldnt get on the quad without my winch.

Poncho is a good idea. I don't know about the other stuff.
I don't carry a tire repair kit, just some fix-a-flat and a compressor. Usually a flat is from a small leak that can be aired back up, if I have a bigger puncture/cut I might was well go home and fix it right.

For the gas, you can get a flat-pack type tank, heard nothing but good things.

generally u should wear long pants, gloves, boots, and long sleeve t-shirt..
if i'm just going out for a cruise i wear w.e but if i'm gonna go for more then 15 minutes then i wear all my riding gear, i think thats the best, it's pretty comfortable.
but yeah if your going to be riding on muddy mucky trails hip waiters arnt a bad thing and either are like water proof windbreakers.

What are some of the things I should bring when I go trail riding?
Things like rain gear, water, etc.
Thanks!

I'll be traveling about 3 hours from home to get to the trails (Hatfield McCoy). In a group with about 10 -12 other riders.
Plan to ride the trails for 2 days, about 60 miles / day. Overnight in a motel.

Thanks for the list, I almost forgot the toilet paper!

What kind of tire repair kit do you recommend? The one with the CO2 cartridges or the one with the mini compressor.
What about rain suits, poncho, jacket w/pants, or jacket w/bibs? Has anyone used Frogg Toggs rain gear?
And what about carrying extra gas, is it safe?
Thanks again!

I ride in the Ocala National Forest, and I bring a tow strap, cell phone, water, lunch, more water, gloves, helmet, long pants, boots, goggles, rain gear, toilet paper, some wet-wipes to clean your hands, first aid kit, trail map, GPS, duct tape, even more water, bungee cords, tire slime, small inflator or CO2 inflator, and some type of personal protection- your choice, but pepper spray is effective. I bungee an Action-Packer box on the rear rack of my Eiger and bungee the cooler to the front rack. Hatfield-McCoy is a BIG place and if you break down, it can be a lonely place. Extra gas is a personal choice, I usually don't carry it, but I don't ride that far for it to be a concern.

That would not have been pretty. Have fun!
