My CR would start terrible when it was cold 7+ kicks.
But once it was warm it would start on the first kick.
Blew the topend out of it put a new topend in it. Now it's 2 kicks to start even when cold.
So if you're carb is clean and your plug is good and you're sure on the jetting it's going to be the topend.

Thats bikes for you though. There very highh maintance.
But you have to think there built for one thing riding very hard on an MX track. a lot of the parts are built light and wear out quick like the sprockets.
Also an MX bike isn't meant to idle. Only way there going to is if you turn the idle way up so it's running faster. Which i wouldn't do.
The idle is all messed up on my 00 CR right now so it tries to rev to the moon when it starts so i can't even start it till i fix this otherwise it's going to blow up on me. But i know whats wrong so it's only aa 5 minute fix.
I can't wait for summer.

sounds like you need to clean the carb out, fresh gas and a new plug.
I know when my kx250 sits for a while without starting
it takes forever to get it going

is ur CR really hard to start? last nite i think i about fouled the plug last nite but it ran for a bit. and today my dad said he cleared it out at work..but tonight i put my new honda NGK in and it wouldnt fire. tomorrow im draining the gas and putting fresh gas in. hopefully that will fix it but im wonderin if its always hard to start. im posed to take it ridin 2morrow but if its gonna throw a tantram i might just go on and sell it. even though i've only had it for a day somebody offered my dad a pretty penny more then what i paid for it. i was hopin it wouldnt be a b!tc|-| but idk...now im havin mixed feelings

put fresh gas in, new plug. cold fire sux! tonight my friend had to bump start me on his brute force..but when its warm it fires up second kick. after i went to ride the second time i checked the plug and it appearantly is working loose, it was a good turn lose. tightened it down and its doin better. hopefully it will be good 2morrow.

i guess im rippin the carb of n get it looked at. it wont idle much either. hopefully that will solve it...the guy i bought it from said he rebuilt the top end in 99' boring it .20 over. he said he just got it out and ran it to sell it. so the top end is posed to be new. this puppy is gonna nickel n dime me to death...
gotta put a new rear sprocket on her soon too like 3 teeth got a good piece missin
