alot of money has been spent on wars. i guess he needs to get more somewhere. if that is true, it is soooo sad. i am not surprised, but still sooo sad. maybe he will have a change of heart, and tax the top 5% and get some back, instead of taking more from the men who have fought, and still fight, for his vary freedoms.
god blees the american soulder, and all he has done and continues to do, for our country.

The media blows everthing out of proportion. Look at what they say about ATVs. They take a story and blow it up to make headlines. Look what they say about guns. Look what they say about hunting. Are you going to believe everything they say? Not me.

Could be true but its really not fair to point the finger at one of the thousands of people who are totally screwing up our country, or the couple hundred million allowing them to do it.

Actually I am starting to seriously consider what some of the more politically involved people I know believe, and thats how most of our political leaders are nothing more than a servant to their respective party, and therefore the "big money" that runs the two parties and our country.

If any of us believe that continuing a war that is stimulating the economy and creating yet another country that we can controll thru their "friendly" elected leaders is the workings of just one man or even one political party were are seriously mistaken and missing the big picture.

Is how our country and even states and beyond cut one program to create funding for another right, or even needed? Is there really a need to have so many funded projects and programs that the govt has become one of the largest employers ever? Do we really need to send billions overseas every year while our own are in need?

Damn theres lots of questions and so little answers, but I hope for the sake of those who will need those future benefits that they are there when you need them and didnt get scraped for some sand flea exploration in antartica.

I think the answer to our problems is to do away with "politicians". Back when our country was founded these people who were elected held "real " jobs. You know like farmer, teacher, .... We elect lawyers to lead us and I think that is silly. We elect LIARS into office plain and simple.

Wow I feel better now (but for how long?)

Chris the first part I cant say much about because I feel that applies to both parties, and much of what we may think today is a result of it being continually fed to us from the media. I cant find any proof of either party making a difference in bringing jobs and manufacturing back into the US, and therefore will not blame one or the other, but both.

That really isnt the point because your second paragraph is absolutely perfect!! Straight forward, accurate and to the damn point!!! I loved reading it, and only hope that more will understand how damn true it is, and maybe one day do something about it!!!!

Actually you may want to mail that into every newspaper in the country under the reader reply sections etc. BR>
I am glad I am not the only one who has realized that its a problem when the people who are writing the laws that represent us are not actually effected by those laws or even most times one of us. No one is perfect but I am ready to see a absolute average middle class politician, or even a party of them that would actually represent our people and not a handfull of wealthy political party bosses.

Thanks for saying it so well.

Just curious if you have noticed any dark colored sedans with men in suits outside your home since you posted that

Bush is for Bush.

Well the first problem is that you believe an article that you read about Bush. Notice the swarms of hysterical, bitter, hateful liberals out there. They write a lot, you know, journalists who don't want a real job.

I am a wholehearted supporter of our military and believe they should be taken well care of. I was basing my original reply on the way that most media covers Bush.

Our budget is grossly bloated with pork, the very last thing they should cut is military benefits. Heck knock out the lunch tab for the worthless UN cronies probably would save enough to take care of you guys.

I really don't care what party it is, have you known one politcian that acually has worked with the people that put him there? That Is not going to happen after all they know what is best for you....and they pretty much do what they want and that is there own aggenda and raising enough money to get reelected. During the recall here in California a reporter asked Larry Flint He said "Larry your into pornagraghy and sex clubs, why do you want to get into any as filthy as politics."

As for this admistration the abuse of troops is nothing knew.

I certainly don't believe everything in the Media but I don't stop looking for the truth. To follow ones leaders blindly can get you in a mess also. It is our duty to question aurhority. You know when God created the snake soon after he created somthing even slimier and he called it a lawyer, then the Lawyer evolved into somthing even more vile the politicanYou always tell when they are lying there lips are moving.

I think the veterans should be number one or atleast at the top of the list of people who get benefits. Its because of our veterans the U.S. is where it is today. They are the ones that have given us soo much and they need a lot more in return. Of course there are a lot of the WWI and WWII veterans that aren't with us anymore. Im not sure if the U.S. gives the families of those WWI or WWII veterans any benefits. I don't know much about all this war stuff. I know I am sick and tired of hearin about all these wars and all our fallen comrads. Anyone ever heard of PEACE!!! Can't we all just get along. Guess not! Guess we are already in a war and I am gonna support our awesome troops to my greatest ability. I wish all our troops a safe return home. Go Red White and Blue!! I know one thing that I am gonna do to show my appreciation for our armed forces, I am gonna paint my old F250 camo colors and put all the wars that the U.S. has fought in and all the major conflicts we experience like 9/11 and stuff. Can't wait to get that thing done. Its gonna be a big rolling memorial. I'll Git R Done!! And I know the U.S. will Git R Done!!!

Read an article today about how the Bush administration seems to thing that Veteran's benefits are costing the U.S. billions and that it's cutting into the budget of the war machine. WTF. Are they planning on not taking care of our own? I've put in 9 years so far and a lot of B.S. and now to hear that I may be cut off or lose some benefits when I retire.....I don't even know anymore.

Posted by: crumley

I understand that it's an article, but it was in our military paper. You don't get a whole lot of B.S. in there. It is straight forward when it comes to benefits and what's happening to them. I know that I shouldn't believe everything I see and hear, but it's not the National Inquirer. Not here to flame anyone or start some huge fight over it, but when I'm hearing the same excuse from his administration....That excuse is that times have changed and that these gov't programs that we started years ago aren't working in these times. Well, the words vary a little depending on whose saying it, but it seems like it's all coming down to the same thing. I think they are trying to scrape up some money for the wars in afghanistan and iraq and for all these new gov't agencies to try to make it all work and leave a legacy from this administration. Blah, blah, blah. I'm not good at debating. All I know is that's it's the Veteran's administration that takes care of all the disabled vets and covers all injuries and illnesses for these discharged and retired military members and now they want to take some of that away. It's just disheartening.
