Remember the episode with the lady and the cat on her lap? She asked him if he would like to pet her p----? He replied: "Well, if you move that cat, maybe I will"!!!

What a second this thread should be about Johnny Carson.
I remember him in the sixties being on late at night when there was only three TV channels to pick from and you got those form an antenna on the roof.

I haven't heard that one but then again I don't watch david letterman. I liked johnny carson because he always drove a new corvette and I hope he got to drive the new C6.

We only had one channel to choose from. Not much of a choice. Off or on, off or on, off or on. Then you had to walk all the way across the room to turn it off or on.
In Carson's later tv years, I watched Letterman because he threw stuff off roof tops. Like watermelons.

What golden memories those are. I realize a lot of guys on this forum have no concept of 3 channels of air reception and the day of television that was. So different, and Johnny had big respect for the honor of hosting a program, where there were not 57 choices of other things to watch. Class act he was.

There was one episode where a PGA golfer's wife was on. He asked if she did anything for good luck for him when he has a tournament. She says "I kiss his balls for good luck". Johnny says "I bet that makes his putter stand up!" I think he got in trouble for that one.

I have a DVD set of his show. That's some funny stuff right there.

I WAS IN LOS ANGELES IN 1978 AND WAS ON A "MOVIE STAR" TOUR; WE STOPPED AT HIS HOUSE...I CLIMBED UP ON THE WALL AND PEAKED OVER NEAR THE TENNIS COURTS AND THERE HE WAS PLAYING TENNIS....HE SAID " HEY YOU GET OFF MY WALL!!" I WAS REALLY BUMMED ABOUT HIM PASSING.
LIKE LETTERMAN SAID : ALL THAT COME AFTER HIM ARE JUST "PRETENDERS".

I really liked Johnny. He gave me some great laughs. There will never be another like him. He didn't have to be filthy and vile mouthed to create hilarious comedy like so many today. The looks on his face were priceless!

No, actually that wasnt even directed directly at you. I stated my opinion and you stated yours, and Ill tell you right now Weedman that you really need to think about if you really want to go to into the military , you wouldnt have a chance in my platoon with your attitude.
