I'm looking for recommedations (names) of women ATVers who have a lot of knowledge in either technical areas regarding ATVs or ATV racing or just the sport in general. Please either email dbeck@atving.com with suggestions or post them here.

Guys,

That's all great but I have a serious search and opportunity for a woman who is knowledgable about ATVs. I need recommendations other than "my wife...."

My wife jetted her own Raptor and recently raced a 4-hour team race. Also attends local club meetings and goes to all the races I race.

So what kind of “opportunity” is this? Is this something to do with the forums or is it with an outside organization? What kind of responsibilities would there be for the selected candidate, and how much time would this consume? Is it a volunteer status or would this person be compensated for their efforts?
Sorry for asking so many questions, but I may be interested, depending on what kind of opportunity this is.
With that said, I should probably tell a little bit about myself…

I am an active member of the Washington ATV Club (W.A.C.). I do my part to help advocate and promote ATV racing and other events in the Pacific NW. I also try to keep local ATV enthusiasts informed of local happenings, E.I. new tracks opening, land use issues, etc…
I am a moderator for the Washington State Quad Riders racing/events forum.
I am familiar with racing regulations and requirements (both AMA and non-AMA).
My technical/mechanical knowledge is not phenomenal, but I am capable of diagnosing and fixing most mechanical problems with an ATV.

Now about me personally…
I am a professional writer, and handle corporate communications for a large company. I also dabble in freelance journalism.
I have been riding quads for about 2 years. Yes, I know, not a long time compared to some, but definitely enough time to become fully addicted to the sport. My husband races on a regular basis with hopes of going pro in the next year or so. My daughter and I also race occasionally, and will be racing more frequently in the future.
My preferred riding is MX, XC, desert and dunes.
Now back to my original question: What kind of “opportunity” is this?

Mrs Shady is pretty savvy on these things. She grew up riding Hodaka bikes in MT back in the 70's and has been on ATV's since they were invented.

dbeck,

Try raptorchick and dirtmomma and nwcutie. They seems to be pretty on the ball. Go to the Puget Sound Area Riders Thread, in Where to Ride. There might be a couple in there........

dancingqueen or Lolli2. They both spoke up and sounds like they are willing to except the challenge

My wife knows how to start almost any ATV!

Posted by: Catterman

Woke up the other day to a dead battery in the Bronco II, I called out my wife and she got the tow strap and ATV out, hooked up to me all by herself and pull started me. Not too bad! She even knew to use low range.img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

Alright, seriously, my wife does know a lot about ATV's, she started on Honda 3 wheelers when she was 8 or so. She can change oil, and knows most of the parts. When an ATV is coming down the trail she can usually tell what kind it is.

Is that what you are looking for??? What do you plan to do when you find the person you seek???

Oh, she also races snowmobiles in the winter

Posted by: Lolli2

I'm pretty often on this site. What exactly are you looking for? I'm pretty exthusiastic on the sport. I've been to some of the races. We get 4 quad subscriptions ever month that I comb through. I have resources available to me for technical issues.

Dbeck, you're always asking about women on here.... you're starting to sound a little strange.

Do you really expect to get serious replies??

EDIT: huh, seems like I've heard you asking before... but in search this is the only one that came up. Sorry, I must be thinking of someone else.

EDIT AGAIN: WHOA! I just read your bio, you started ATV Connection?!? uhhh... please don't ban me from the Forum for what I said earlier...
