Hemi Jeeps

Posted by: 01ds650

One other story was because it was like Jeep on Popeye. Meaning it could anywhere. Who knows for sure.
BTW, The show Mail Call on History channel, that is a Ford Jeep. Something about that doesn't seem right....Willys & Jeep just go together.

As far as new versus old. Check out the Wrangler Rubicon. Front & rear lockers, 4:10s & a 4:1 TC with 31's MTRs. That is a bad dude. I'm on my 2nd Grand Cherokee V-8. These things haul.

Can you say................................HEMI..................................?????????????????????

Ive also heard that the new redesigned Grand Cherokees are getting the Hemi as well

Anyone who's driven a cj/tj for more than a week knows its not an onroad vehicle. But I'm sure the scramblers would sell well for the current market as most of these buyers think they need 4wd to get down a gravel road. After all, isnt that why we have the H2 and are making the H3 and H3T?

Someone finally woke up over at Chrysler.

I have been wondering for years why they never reintroduced the Scrambler,,,,,,it has always seemed like a no-brainer.

Maybe they will be smart enough to put a v-8 in it,,,, so someone other than daddy's girl can get some use out of it. (doubt it)

i guess im the only one that likes em......

same thing

they used to be called Scramblers back in the 70s

maybe in about 10 years,,,,,used

or if they put a v-8 in it,,,,,and make it capable of towing something

the girlfriend on the other hand,,,,may be in the market eventually (she had a 98 and loved it)(the Bronco will do for now however)

I like to think of the bronco as a big JEEP.

i really would rather have an old old scrambler,,,,,,classy ride

cool marketing ploy though,,,,,they will sell like hotcakes

Yeahhhhh,,,,,,its all fun ,,,,,till the new one breaks down,,,,and then you really see how flimsy they built em

I'd take an old one for sure. simple and strong

that will be the day,,,,,,,,,,,,,,may as well drop the Cummins in there

,,,but the chassis would need some work too

Imagine getting passed on a huge incline,,,,,by a wrangler,,,,pulling a 30' loaded Toy Hauler

I think the CJ6 was first. My cousin took a CJ6 and shortened it. I like a short Jeep for on the trails but the longer length would make it ride a little better on the road. Did you know that Ford made a Jeep?

I had heard that too. Jeep the dog.

Isnt it known as the new Jeep Unlimited? It just the same a regular jeep but with a few more feet in the back. Or are we talking about different things?

So you gonna get one? I figured we were talking about the same thing, I know my Jeeps

Ford and Willys was hired to make Jeeps for the Army back in WWII. They got their name from General Purpose vehicle. GP sounds like Jeep. If I remember correctly.

At least the old jeeps were american vehicles.

Its kind of an odd twist how the whole Jeep thing started as a way to help defeat Germany during WWII and came to be a symbol of American pride and power is now owned and built by a German corp. It just seems wrong to me.

Yep ,they had the ford F stamped all over many of the parts.

I am very excited to see them back. 24 fricken grand base price though. That's one big difference between them and the old Scramblers.

im personally not a big fan of them. I know they are modeled after the bigger jeeps of 30 years ago or so, but i think it almost defeats the true purpose of a wrangler. On trails, wranglers are small and agile, adding a couple feet to them will more than likely detract from the overall off-roading experience, but %95 of new jeeps will never see a trail anyway.

id rather have the old jeeps..
