You apparently do not realize why this is necessary. The ramifications of these checks could save your or your families lives. I would not like the checks if I were you either.....but since 9/11 we are in a different time and we all may have too compromise here and there too provide a safe country.

he is removing my rights as an american, and stripping this country's resources.
Please elaborate....what resources are we using more of compared too the Clinton era???
Quote

our money has lost its value quickly since he is spending it at a rate never seen before.
This is a good example of bad info. US money does not loose value because of spending.

the man attached another country on hearsay!!! god bless this country, but kids are dying in irac, and it has been proven that we were wrong. let me remind you, no u.n support, and little support from alot of country's. we invaded another country at a cost of over 100 billion dollars, on a hunch???
The president's decision is only as good as the information received. Did you forget that congress overwhelmingly approved this? One man did not make this decision.
Quote

he was doing what a good little kid should of, get back for daddy, at my expense, and the expense of over 500 great american men!
Lets get real here....get back for daddy? LOL.

last time a country was invaded against the u.n. approval, his name was sadaam, and before thart, his name was hitler. nice group for him to be in, aint it. rant all ya want about the man, but he holds allot of records no other pres does.
Lets be realistic, the UN is not gonna approve a invasion. You can count on one hand the times this nation has encountered such a horrific situation...so why is it a shock looking at the stats?
Quote

spent more than any other in history, saving less. stripping resources at a fast rate, weakening our economy so bad its sick, and diverting the fact that he cant stop terrorism by invading another country! what a guy, lol
Again, look at the situation and it's pretty easy too figure out where the money is going. Give it up on the resource thing.....we are not using resources in any other way than the Clinton era did. Economy was going downhill when slick willy was leaving office. BTW, the Clinton era has too be the most embarrassing in US history IMO. He was riding on the coattails of a good economy while committing adultery on his wife + being audited half the time he was in office...LOL.

Actually, proof exists that Clinton and his organization had proof of terrorist activity and done nothing about it. Could 9/11 have been prevented if we had took action...who knows? One thing is for sure though, we would have had a better chance of it not happenning if we would have acted. After what Clinton done, I cannot believe some people adore him. This was the man that represented the USA at the highest level and disgraced EVERY american. Closing public land should be enough for an atver too dislike him. Not seeing any land closures lately are we...

I do agree....we have a bunch of nutcases that obviously benefit from rising fuel prices in charge here in the states! Rising fuel costs sometimes have no reasoning for going up. We need too regulate from within before regulating outside the border. Add this problem in with the other nut cases cutting back production overseas and you have a recipe for outrageous fuel prices. That is where we are at this point.
I have always read and been advised that the Alaskian oil reserve is one of the largest in the world???

You know what, all you guys talk about on this forum if we had a Dem president we wouldn't have any places to ride. Be it superficial, this is what I heard on this forum.

Well, we HAVE a Republican president and in my state (Florida) we have a Republican Governor (Jeb Bush of all people) and over the last 2 years we have lost all of our riding areas, I have to drive 5 hours to ride semi-legally (Ocala) and even that is in the process of being scaled down, restricted or closed. Thanks Repubs.

i never thought i could say this, but i miss slick willie, lol.
all ya have to do is look around, and its quite odvious what georgie porgie has done.

Posted by: mich660griz

8 years before???
clinton has done what NO republican has ever done, fixed the economy. maybe its just me, but i remember reaganomics, and what it did to america. them the daddy took office and made it even worse. the best guess was 20 years to streighten out what them repub,s did. clinton came in, got our country back on track, made our economy VARY strong, and did the unthinkable, put money IN the bank.
took good ol' georgie porgie 1 year to tear it all apart.
as for what clinton did, aint no differant than MANY other presidents have done, other than the republacins knew it was the only way to stop the democratic roll.
just a working mans opinion though.

bush took away my rights as an american! thats the truth!
his new law, allows police to pick ANYONE within 25 miles of any border and search without any reason what so ever. now, me living under 20 miles from canada means that the police can search me, my belongings at any time they want. this is now being used for searchs of vehicles on our main roads. just drive in the wrong area and you can see a police block, while they go from car to car. i have seen it and been in it myself.

as for the deficit not being real??? WHAT??? money is power, and when you owe out more than you have, your money looses its power. so, less in the bank, the less its worth. our money has lost its value quickly sinse he is spending it at a rate never seen before.
the man attached another country on hearsay!!! god bless this country, but kids are dying in irac, and it has been proven that we were wrong.

Let's think about things a little bit here. Basically, if Bill Clinton and the rest of the liberals had any nuts, they would have taken care of the problems of the world. Instead, he left Bush with all of his screw ups and when something did happen, which was going to happen sooner or later, Bush happened to be in office.

It just fries me how people can say that it's all Bush's fault that our economy is poor and that we're doing things overseas that isn't neccessary. The Democrats sugar coat everything they do to make sure their poop doesn't stink, even if something goes wrong, and then when it's "clearly" not their fault, they blame it on Republicans being in office. I mean come on... Clinton knew that Osama blew the hole in the side of our ship... and he didn't do anything to try and stop that kind of thing from happening again.... other than maybe paying Osama off... which is a more probable scenario.

AlphaRaptor: you're going to have your opinion and I'm going to have mine... oh sorry... forgot you couldn't read this.... the wool has been pulled over your eyes.

Alpha-Wake up buddy!

Think about this.......what if Bush had NOT won the election??? What if All Gore was now your Beloved Democratic President??? You could just take your Raptor out to the back yard, and burry it (right next to your guns and your SUV)!!! That extremist environmental wacko Gore would have loved to ban your machine, and so would every other Democrat. For sure Bush isn't perfect, but when you compare him to any of the alternatives, he has been a great president. His predecessor Bill Clinton, was a LOW POINT IN AMERICAN HISTORY! And may God save us from his B**** wife!

Forgive me but I have only been scannign th above posts. Once again Shady sheds light on the subject, I love ya man!.....
For those who claim that the econmy was great under Clinton, think about this. Cell pohones and the internet were no more than a pipe dream in 1992. How many people worked in and made money from those two industries? A sh!t load. I have no numbers to back it up, but I woudl argue that there was more money adn jobs made from those industries than anyother tow in recent history. they both blew up under Clinton. Are you goign to say Clinton was responsible for that? I though Gore invented the internet.

I copied this, but its VERY pertinant at this time: Take the time to read it:

At about the time our original 13 states adopted the new constitution, in the year 1787, Alexander Tyler ( a Scottish History Professor at the University of Edinburgh) had this to say about "The Fall of The Athenian Republic" some 2,000 years prior.
A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship."

The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

>From Bondage to spiritual faith;
>From spiritual faith to great courage;
>From courage to Liberty;
>From liberty to abundance;
>From abundance to complacency;
>From complacency to apathy;
>From apathy to dependence;
>From dependence back into bondage;

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the most recent Presidential election:

Population of counties won by:
Gore = 127 million
Bush = 143 million

Square miles of land won by:
Gore=580,000
Bush = 22,427,000

States won by:
Gore = 19
Bush = 29

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Gore = 13.2
Bush = 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was land mostly owned by the tax-paying citizens of this great country.

Gore's territory encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off government welfare..."

Olson believes the U.S. is now somewhere between the "apathy" and "complacency" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some 40 percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

I don't understand your logic Bluethumb.
We agree that we have to get oil , we agree that we can't live with out it, we agree that it must be drilled for, we agreee that it will leave a mark on the enviroment, right....?

So why cant we agree that its better to have it under OUR control?

Why is it ok to make the middle east "like a mine field, full a holes" ?

Why don't we use OUR rescources before we buy them from others?

Why don't you want to be able to tell O.P.E.C. to kiss our collective asses?

Why don't you realize what rains on the U.S.A. drips on Canada?

Where do you propose we get the oil?

Posted by: KGB

Bluethumb, I agree wholeheartedly with your post. Thanks. Your right, but the problem is the city slickers, the soccer moms, the huge ego dweebs who have to drive big trucks across town to the donut factory, the utter disregared for conservation is the real problem. Unfortunatley that won't change until its (the oil) all gone.... I drive 30mpg cars everywhere, but to the dunes. They don't pull trailers too well.lol I did not mean anythng about USA v Canada, I hope it was not taken that way.

I personal cant stand the man. He has that look that he is going to xxxx you over. My not dem or rep. i just want what is best for the US. Anybody is better than him.

I don't think the twin tower hit was a huge attack on America. Really, it was a drop in the bucket compared to Pearl Harbour. It was still a kick in the nuts, yes, but can't be compared to the major hit on Dec 7th/41. As an outsider looking in, I think ole Dubya should have waited to go in there. He really didn't have a target, he just wanted revenge and to kill somethin'. Look how fast Afganistan was forgotten about, I haven't heard anything about it for months. He went in, bombed the shi* out of them, then when he couldn't find ole asama, he decides to kick the crap out of Iraq.
I'm saying, ole Dubya is doing what his "advisers" tell him is the best. And he does it, without thinking of any consequences, or stopping to take a breath. You know, you are the pres, you can make the decisions and ask for good intelligence. Hey, maybe ask another country. Better yet, get another countries' army to go in under US command, thereby providing US leadership and vision, call it multinational, and still get what you want.
Anyway, I just don't like the look of the man, he'd sacrifice every square inch of green in the USA, if'n there was oil to be had underneath it. It seems that everything this guy touches turns to s**t, the economy, health, vets, education. That and he smiles like he's trying to have a crunch.

Posted by: Bluethumb

Believe me, we get different news reports than you get. We see American soldiers dead and dying. You don't, your "free" media is so censored, and tailored to what they WANT you to see you'd be friggen amazed. Go have a beer in Canada and watch the CBC for an hour. You guys have blinders on, because of this. Not all though, some guys can see through the BS and know what's going on. I'm not a big fan of Dubya, as you can tell, I think he's a hot head and doesn't really think before he acts. There's a lot of reasoning that all his bull sh*t is due to the new security measures he must take. It just feeds the paranoia. A guy in Northern Michigan, who's been living there for 20 years, should not be deemed a terrorist risk and be subject to random searches!!! If you can justify that, so much for the "free" America. Why don't you just put Marines on every street corner Dubya, maybe institute a curfew for the scared little civilian, and tell him how he can live as well.
Here's how some people see it. The USA goes in, proves it's weapons work, boosts the defense industry, blows the sh*t out of a particular country, on shaky intel, THEN goes to the UN and NATO looking people to clean up the mess and rebuild the country that he's destroyed. And then you wonder why there's worldwide protests about him. He's hated throughout the world, and who do you think them crazy SOB's are gunning for? That's right, him, or the people that represent him, and that could be you wearing that army uniform. Anyway, don't believe the US mdeia, if they want access to the militaries affairs, they're strictly controlled on what they can put out. How else would the US military recruit people. They see a dead marine, they're going out the doors, not in.

Posted by: Bluethumb

Really, I don't see the relavance as far as his personal affairs go, Clinton I mean, everyone has a vice, and I mean everyone. This guy has booze, that guy has dope, the other guy has gambling. I don't point fingers, him screwing his assistant didn't cost lives, the media just used it for something to report, makes them money. As for resources, Dubya is the ONLY pres in history to even consider opening a wildlife refuge in Alaska for exploritory drilling for oil. What that says to me is that he's willing to do anything for oil and big business. The only way he's even remotely protected jobs is by renegging on foreign trade policies with other countries. He want us to buy your manufactured goods, but doesn't want us selling our products to your people. Take lumber for example, now what he wants is the raw material aka logs, to be shipped to the US and processed there, so it puts thousands of people out of work here, but keeps the US plants running. If the roles were reversed and thousands of US jobs were gone, there'd be hell to pay. Ole Dubya has a LONG way to go with foreign relations

Posted by: Bluethumb

The mills aren't folding due to competition from the north, they're folding because the wood supply is relatively small, and harder to harvest, therefore it gets more expensive. Low lumber prices has a positive effect as well, it spurs housing starts, and brings the price down when you want a 2X4.

Anyway, I can see how this debate can get tiring on both sides. My perspective is that the US wants the natural resources but wants it dirt cheap, and all to be processed there. You probably have a different take on it, and an arguement that's just as valid. All we can do is strike a balance and come to an agreement. That's where the present government fails. To our point of veiw, they're beligerent, unyielding and stubborn beyond any reasoning. A more approachable gov't is the answer, and someone who'll deal on even terms. I can say that, as a Canuck, I hope Bush loses this election. Lets face facts, ANY perspective president can do what he's done, that's the easy part. Getting the US economy back on it's feet and putting money in the bank isn't near as easy. I'd be willing to give another guy a shot. He may have some policies that you don't like, but look at the bigger picture.

Posted by: Bluethumb

Know what? I bet if we all got together on the trail, coupla beers around a camp fire all this BS we've been argueing about would go away in an aweful hurry. This is so friggen far beyond me and out of my control, it's not worth browbeating you guys about it. I can say this, if you don't vote, don't bitch about the outcome, sometimes people forget that the government is SUPPOSED to represent the people, and work FOR the people, not do what ever the hell they feel like with YOUR money. I may be in a different country, but we have a different version of the same waste of taxpayers money, power struggles and scandals. Have a beer, what the hell else can you do?

Posted by: Bluethumb

Little high strung there buddy? You're one of those guys that think if you don't see it, it doesn't exist. Typical, ever been OUTSIDE the USA? Probably not, that kind of attitude gets you broken friend. You don't realize even how vast and different your own country is. You wouldn't say anything about drilling in Alaska if you've been there, or lived there. Why don't they drill off Hawaii, what the hell, there's got to be oil there somewhere too. Hell, there might be a spout in your back yard. Or maybe the grand canyon, nothing's sacred there when in the pursuit of oil. If friggen gas is all you've got to worry about, you've got it too good, and don't realize it

Posted by: Bluethumb

Ya, I understand that, about the size of the dime thing, but that's not the point is it? If they don't find what they're looking for, are they going to move the dime to another perspective location? Do that enough times and it starts to look like a minefield, full-a-holes. It's supposed to be a protected refuge for Caribou, and it's been protected up until Dubya found out there might be oil there. Protected since ABE, what gives him the right to just open it up now? Anyway, they're going to do what they're going to do, nothing I can do to change it, it's just a shame. I've looked at websites from Alaska, yes, they show mostly the touristy things, but you can also find out what kind of damage we're talking about here, and to what.
No, I can't vote in the US, but it wouldn't be for Dubya providing that I could. Matter of choice I guess. I really don't get the "other side" of the issues Americans face either, if I had all the information, I could change my perspective I guess. Whoever gets voted in, is going to look after the interests on the American people, or they'd friggen well better, that's why they're voted in. I really don't care for all these smear adds that the politicians use there to get voted in. That's the most low class BS I've ever seen, if you can't beat your opponent with good policies and have to resort to name calling and digging in his garbage, what does that say about you? Anyway, have a good day

Posted by: Bluethumb

Well, I see where you're coming from. The middle east rarely drills for new reserves, their pockets of oil are massive, negating the need for more drilling. Venezuala has lots of oil. I can't see it being any cheaper to drill in the arctic and have to build a pipeline, or ship it to the US. That, and it's generally lower grade oil anyway. The US is the largest consumer of oil in the world, but it's controlled by friggen nutcases that name their price. What doesn that say to you? Reduce the friggen demand, and down goes the price. There is no reason that a city slicker needs to drive a V10 excursion to work every day. The US gets it's fuel cheap, compare it to the UK, they pay 2.50+ a gallon, that's why they all drive deisels. Change your power plants to Natural gas, maybe even nukes, that reduces the demand.
America's resources would run out in 10 years if used at the current demand rate, then where the hell are you going to be? Asking the nutcases for oil, or going in and taking it from them. America depends on a multitude of countries to satisfy it's thirst, for oil, power, gas, wood, you name it, you need it. We have a gas processing plant here in NS, that runs balls to the wall 24-7, and every ounce of gas they can produce flows into New England, Boston to be exact. What do i heat my house with? Fuel oil, and wood. I can't even access that supply even though I drive over the pipeline when I go for a ride. Your dependance on other countries for resources will always be an issue, so drilling new wells for a limited and small supply of oil is really a waste of time. If the US went with strictly its own supplies, you'd be lined up for miles to get gas, the producers would never keep up, and you'd be paying $100 for a tank of fuel.
We're neighbours, and no better than you guys, probably worse actually at consuming oil, but still, I wouldn't agree with drilling in Banff national park, some things gotta be left alone.

Why must some people think in black or white. They say if a demo is in office we will loose atvs,suvs and guns. That sounds ridiculous. We had them all when slick was in office. It takes more than one man (an imperfect being) to destroy the economy or repair it. I don't really care for any of our choices for pres. but I question both of their priorities. Politicians are once usually lawyers (which is part of the problem) and not the most moral,hard-working,HUMBLE & responsible people I've seen. I probably won't even vote because of the choices, but that's just me.

What Gary Said.

Oh by the way, you leftist coffee shop-dwelling angry jealous kooks who think W "stole" the election, might want to prod your selective memory (remember, you're "intellectuals") back to Florida early 2001. Every big liberal newspaper and magazine (Time, Newsweek, NY Times, et al) sent their glassy eyed birkenstock wearing minions off to Florida to do a "real" count when the voting records were released for media viewing. Remember that? Anyone?? Oh, of course not, because every time they counted them it turned out that

George Bush Won.

Now go back to your bitter jealous little miserable liberal lives while us smiling productive right wing nuts actually make the country run and pay taxes so you can live off of it.

Just funnin' ya.

Good point, here's a bad policy that is being used to combat another bad policy. Our saw logs are too expensive here for the enviro left, and Canada's saw logs go into their mills off federal land for practically nothing in comparison. The idea is to open their logs to fair bidding on an open market to create a level playing field.

Canadian lumber exports to the US have grown in the last 10 years while western US output is declining and mills all over are folding.

Shady's take:

We have tons of timber here. We harvest less than 10% of what is naturally dying in our national forests. They won't even let you cut down dead trees after forest fires. It's insane, yet America needs wood, Canada happily obliges, and we lay tariffs on it. I am a lumber broker and see this idiocy daily.

Bush has got the US economy back on its feet after the spring 2000 stock market burst which evaporated something like 5 TRILLION dollars in make-believe wealth. That's where the make-believe surplus was too, in Land-of-Oz capital gains taxes projections. You are right this argument can get very tiring, I just try to point out some of the wrong information gleaned from an agenda-driven media.

Awesome post Kam! Thanks for the back pat too. I have seen parts of that essay before but not in that much detail. Cutting and printing now for the collection.

Blue thumb, go to your kitchen table. Put a dime on it. That dime to the rest of your table is the relative size of area on the Alaska wildlife refuge they propose for drilling. And, contrary to the scenic mountain views they show you on the news, it is nothing but a barren flat tundra in the oil areas.

And I think we should have a beer over the campfire, hell we could get all this solved by morning!

Posted by: ShadyRascal

The Alaskan oil reserves are extremely large. Also, in South America and Russia. But you won't see much of this come to real fruition on any large scale unless there is unrest in the middle east that goes far beyond what we have now.

Saudi Arabia basically dictates the oil market through their controls on the volume of production. They cut production every now and then to increase the price, but they don't let the price get too high. On the flip side they don't let production run away and drive the price too low either. They keep it around that $28 per barrel number with occasional spikes like we are seeing now. Once they make a few extra billion the production will go up and the price will come back down.

The Saudis actually won't allow the price to stay high for very long because at some point it becomes profitable to drill oil elsewhere, offshore-Alaska-Oklahoma-etc. whereupon they have more competition to deal with. They maintain their power by keeping themselves as the main world supplier.

Posted by: ShadyRascal

Good point Rob, unless we all squawk together loud and clear it doesn't matter what party is in charge, they all bow to pressure and most of it comes from the well-funded and organized enviro-nazis.

Someone put thier spin on things, another could do the same and make him look like a saint. Not all of it was true. At least he is consistant. He has my vote.

Here's a little something that was emailed to me today....

RESUME
GEORGE W. BUSH
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
Washington, DC 20520

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Law Enforcement:
I was arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine, in 1976 for driving under the influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine, and had my driver's license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving record has been "lost" and is not available.

Military:
I joined the Texas Air National Guard and went AWOL. I refused to take a drug test or answer any questions about my drug use. By joining the Texas Air National Guard, I was able to avoid combat duty in Vietnam.

College:
I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. I was a cheerleader.

PAST WORK EXPERIENCE:
I ran for U.S. Congress and lost. I began my career in the oil business in Midland,Texas, in 1975.
I bought an oil company, but couldn't find any oil in Texas. The company went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my stock. I bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that took land using taxpayer money. With the help of my father and our friends in the oil industry (including Enron CEO Ken Lay), I was elected governor of Texas.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF TEXAS:
I changed Texas pollution laws to favor power and oil companies, making Texas the most polluted state in the Union. During my tenure, Houston replaced Los Angeles as the most smog-ridden city in America.
I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the tune of billions in borrowed money.
I set the record for the most executions by any governor in American history.
With the help of my brother, the governor of Florida, and my father's appointments to the Supreme Court, I became President after losing by over 500,000
votes.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT:
I am the first President in U.S. history to enter office with a criminal record.
I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one billion dollars per week.
I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury.
I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U..S. history.
I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 12-month period.
I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period.
I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the U.S.
stock market. In my first year in office, over 2 million Americans lost their jobs and that trend continues every month.
I'm proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in U.S. history. My "poorest millionaire," Condoleeza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.
I set the record for most campaign fundraising trips by a U.S. President. I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most corporate campaign donations. My largest lifetime campaign contributor, and one of my best friends, Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy fraud in U.S. History,

Enron.
My political party used Enron private jets and corporate attorneys to assure my success with the U.S. Supreme Court during my election decision.
I have protected my friends at Enron and Halliburton against investigation or prosecution. More time and money was spent investigating the Monica Lewinsky affair than has been spent investigating one of the biggest corporate rip- offs in history.
I presided over the biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused to intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed.. I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history.
I changed the U.S. policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government contracts.
I appointed more convicted criminals to administration than any President in U..S. history.
I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy in the history of the United States government.
I've broken more international treaties than any President in U.S. history.
I am the first President in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission.
I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law.
I refused to allow inspector's access to U.S. "prisoners of war" detainees and thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva Convention.
I am the first President in history to refuse United Nations election inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. election).
I set the record for fewest numbers of press conferences of any President since the advent of television.
I set the all-time record for most days on vacation in any one-year period.
After taking off the entire month of August, I presided over the worst security failure in U.S. history.
I garnered the most sympathy for the U.S. after the World Trade Center attacks and less than a year later made the U.S. the most hated country in the world, the largest failure of diplomacy in world history.
I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously protest me in public venues (15 million people), shattering the record for protests against any person in the history of mankind.
I am the first President in U.S. history to order an unprovoked, pre-emptive attack and the military occupation of a sovereign nation. I did so against the will of the United Nations, the majority of U.S. citizens, and the world community.
I have cut health care benefits for war veterans and support a cut in duty benefits for active duty troops and their families -- in wartime.
In my State of the Union Address, I lied about our reasons for attacking Iraq and then blamed the lies on our British friends.
I am the first President in history to have a majority of Europeans (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and security.
I am supporting development of a nuclear "Tactical Bunker Buster," a WMD.
I have so far failed to fulfill my pledge to bring Osama Bin Laden [sic] to justice.

RECORDS AND REFERENCES:

All records of my tenure as governor of Texas are now in my father's library, sealed and unavailable for public view.
All records of SEC investigations into my insider trading and my bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view.

All records or minutes from meetings that I, or my Vice-President, attended regarding public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view.

PLEASE CONSIDER MY EXPERIENCE WHEN VOTING IN 2004.

I should have put this somewhere on my original post....

"the email I posted above does not necessarily reflect any of my views"

It was just an email sent to me that I thought a few of you would get a kick out of....

It's a two party system, what can you do? I hate to say it but voting for the "other guy" is like throwing your vote away...

Once again I'd like to say that the views in the original post do not necessarily reflect any of my own. It was simply a email that was sent to me and I thought some of you would get a kick out of it. Obviously it really kicked some of you pretty hard in the butt.img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">...

My reply is as simple as they come and it is this about this subject. I agree with what both sides republican and democrats have but in that aspect they both have other views that i don't agree with either. Now where does that leave me with the decision to pick which side has more of the morals that i hold dear and sacrifice the ones that i would look at the least important when every single one is important to me. This, however, causes me a problem because i have to weigh out the ones that i view more important then the others. I liked alot of the things bill clintons whole party did but despise others the same as i do george bush. The real question is this when are we going to get people in there that have the best COMMON SENSE to do the right things and not to go overboard with some ideas and enforce others? This, therein, lies the problem because as we all know money rules the world and if money does do the talking then WHOEVER goes into office or a position of power will be corrupt and not appeal to us and to some he will. We as people of this great country should RESPECT one another as a whole and try to work out things as a group and things would work out for us and not try to argue and raise hell at every little idea that we don't agree with. I don't think there is anyone out there that can totally say that there views are the most right out of everyone in the world. I hope to god that we can get people and WISE men/women in office that can do the right things and not be swayed by the corrupt greed and power misuse that goes along with that. I LOVE RIDING MY YFZ (don't start about how 450r better or vise-versa lol) and hope i can as long as i live and hope everyone can enjoy that same thing as i do but some are gung-ho about getting rid or them and the best thing would be to try to figure out why they are and to bring up things on both levels and come to an educated agreement because even though they do harm to enviroment if its in certain places and we're using common sense approach about things then i am sure that tree-huggers that so hate them could be shown that its people like ozzy who misuse their power, just like politicians who do with money that cause all this hatred. I am sorry is this is too long but this in my opinion is what makes sense and if ya look down at the constant bickering back and forth u would see why we as a country will never grow again unless we come together or in a worst case scenario have another world war and we kill each other to the point we finally relize what we are all living for to help one another get through this together not alone. HAVE FUN ALL AND HOPE TO SEE YA ON THE RIDING TRAILS.

Someone else said it but it's true. What can you expect when you pick your Miss America from a group of fifty and your president from a group of two?

That's just it. Democracy is a fine idea but when it's a choice between only Tweedle Dumb and Dumber what kind of democracy is that? Not suggesting we do it any better here in Canada, not for a minute. But is this what the signers of the Declaration of Independence envisioned? Two big parties only? The ones who screwed you last election versus the guys who screwed you the one before, time and time again? This has got to get old eventually hasn't it fellows?

Of all people, to start something like this, A Californian. I can see why You can't remember the rolling blackouts in the late 2000's, because of you not living in Northern California. I mean LA is a LONG ways from there! Are you blaming Bush for this also? Hell SLICK WILLY didn't do a crappin thing about it! It was after the elections before the rolling blackouts stopped. All I know is that if I lived in the Northwest where alot of the electrical supply for California comes I would be with the crowd that is saying screw California!If California is going to be ran by nature loving Enviromentalist then Californian's can ask them to come up with how to supply their own electrical needs!!
And Enron! If slick willy was doing his job in stead of smoking dope and not inhaling it; the biggest bankrupcy in america's history would not of probably happened. At least not the way it did. This bankrupcy did not happen in 6 MONTHS! Also the stock market started taking a crap in April 2000, that was long before the younger Bush was in the mix.
Yes, I voted for Bush did I want to NOOO! Why did I? Because at the time he was the best candidate! I felt at the time that there were way to many people and countries screwing with US! And we needed our national security built up again and someone to stop taking their crap! Most of us know what the Draft dodging Cigar handling G-y loving Clinton thought about serving and protecting our country! Am I glad I voted for him? After 9/11 you can bet your bootie I am. The best man of the two we had to choose from was on the job that day!!
Then on top of all this, the moron was IMPEACHED! Remember Whitewater? Nixon was a crook, (Watergate) but at least he quit before he was impeached. I feel that the only reason he didn't get booted out was because of what happen with Nixon, What a blackeye that was! But he should of been. I wonder how much stuff he pulled (REVENGE)after being impeached!
To the neighbors up North, you can thank the eviromentalist freaks down here for all you trees being exported. Yes, I believe there should be a watchdog watching over the enviroment, but these people have taken it way to far. If these people don't want the nature disturbed then they need to start buying candles, horse and out houses. That way they won't need electricity, an a gas burning vehicle or running water!
Will I vote for Bush again? Time will only tell! I still don't like either person. I wish Edwards was in there, then I would know who I would be voting for by now!
I just hope in the future that the american people are not dumb enough to put (that dyke) HILARY in office. That will be the ultimate low!

No matter what your views are, Kerry was at one time with you one every one. He was also against those very same views. He just can't make up his mind! Now thats consistant!

yea all Democrats want to F8*&^ the powersports industry and ban all types of other things.

My view on the goverment is if something is fun, the goverment will either ban it or put All sorts of rules on it

Posted by: Trasher

Try looking at the real picture. It's hard to blame any president for a lot of the things that happen in our lifes. Better yet, blame your local Senator and Congressman. Remember these jokers when you vote.

Put a democrate in office and you will lose your GUNS and who knows what else.

We better all hope that a dem does not get elected becuase we might as well sell our machines now.

bush is a supporter of sportsman not a treehugger

What does this have to do with anything. I went to ATV forums, not bleeding heart liberal forums. I guess I should expect it from a Californian.

I kinda like the fact that George killed more deathrow prisoners than anyone else I hate that we pay for them to live, I hate even more that we pay legal fees for them and that makes killing a murderer more expensive, than letting him live.

I agree George Bush was not the best candidate the Republicans could have nominated but i fully believe he did more for our country than the Democrat alternative. Al Gore accepted a good deal of money from china if I remember right and do you really think we would have any trails to ride if the democrats were in power. Didn't slick willy almost eliminate snowmobiles from Yellowstone, what makes you think other places would not follow.

All I want to say is keep your politics to yourself or post them somewhere else. I might have considered Kerry or even Dean, once I actually saw their platform. But People like yoiu make me not want to. I enjoy mudslinging on the trails, don't need it here.

In reply to
"clinton has done what NO republican has ever done, fixed the economy. maybe its just me, but i remember reaganomics, and what it did to america. them the daddy took office and made it even worse. the best guess was 20 years to streighten out what them repub,s did. clinton came in, got our country back on track, made our economy VARY strong, and did the unthinkable, put money IN the bank.
took good ol' georgie porgie 1 year to tear it all apart.
as for what clinton did, aint no differant than MANY other presidents have done, other than the republacins knew it was the only way to stop the democratic roll.
just a working mans opinion though. "

Are you seriously that deluded to think Clinton fixed the economy. do you really think anything a presdient does affects the economy in during his economy. I would venture to say that the majority of what pres does does not realy show fruit for 2-3 years.

So in the 90s what did clinton do, NAFTA. That was a great one. Now we have the weakest manufatcuring sector than ever. fixed the budget??? I would say the overblown dot com investment were what really help the gov. One thing you might want to look at. The econmy was falling sharply at least 6-8 months before Bush ever became president. If Bill had gone after Osama back in 93 when he first tried to blow up the towers we might have the towers, and a lot of american lives still. If Bush is at fault for joining the military to avoid Vietnam, what is clinton for traveling to Russia around that time, and completely avoiding vietnam.

Of course I copuld be wrong, tell me some things that Clinton actually did right! I don't know any real facts showing positive stuff. Oh and about Monica, I could care less what he did, I just know rules are rules and the military code says cheaters get the boot. since he was commander in chief and was actually impeached for lying about it he should have been hung.

Well first off this country needs to STOP being dependent on foreign oil. This can be done by developing new sources of energy. Did you know that Germany had no oil during W.W.II so they ran there war machine on methanol, they could make it from grain and they had plenty of that, and might I add that was back in the 1940's. And isn't it strange that people will pay over a buck for a bottle of drinking water at the store and the earth is 2/3 covered with the stuff!!! Oh but oil on the other hand, we have to go half way around the planet drill down 2 to 3 miles into the earth, then pump it to the surface put it on a ship, bring it all the way back, then refine it into gasoline, then take it to a gas station were I can buy a gallon of it for less than what I payed for the 16oz bottle of water that I got with my gas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: turbocoupe

as far as opinions i cant stand that monkey faced !@#$ he cut the men and womens pay in 1/2 that are fighting for this country nice pres huh oh and then cut education funds for schools oh ya thats great some schools cant afford to stay open thats wonderfull for the children of the future another good one cut medical for the elderly thats nice so now they have a choice eat catfood and get meds or dont get meds and eat normal food oh ya what happend to (osama been forgotten) what about making cuts to the fire departments and police that spent days at ground zero risking there lives to save others oh ya thats respect NOT!! what about the florida ballots they didnt have enough time to recount them bullsht! paid off i can keep going on and on about bush i am a democrat 100% and i believe that the wealthy should pay there fair share of taxes why should they get a break i bust my @#$ 60 hours a week turnin wrenches to live comfortable if the gov is going to keep making cuts and tax hikes along with fuel costs etc i think they should give the public a better percentage rate on deductions for taxes at the end of the year as far as bannin atvs i just dont think that will be possible in my opinion there is more and more clubs growing every day to help keep trails open and more sponsers are coming aboard to help the atv world with help in my opinion i think it would be nice if everybody just got along and helped one another just my 2 cents

ya well the liberal whom wrote that can go back to the hole he came out of..

Posted by: llbts1

You have 2 choices. No matter how you feel about Bush, anything is better than Kerry. I like Bush and trust what he says unlike what we went through 8 years before. LL

Posted by: Buzzman

At least Bush keeps his word, and has some morals. Can't say the same for Clinton or Kerry.

Posted by: killerKXF

OK..you will have to excuse me I have adult A.D.D and sometimes it is hard for me write what I'm thinking.

Ok, first thing I would like to say is anyone who truely belives in this whole "debt/surplus" needs a reality check, the natonial debt is a annanimate number...in other words it does not exist. who do we owe money to. the last time I checked other country's owed us.

Next up, the economy. first of all this was a inherited resesion. liberals want to talk about Bush's war spending. well look at all the money clinton spent kissing these little piss puddle country's asses. Hell hillary has a higher expence tab than any other senator in history. besides the main reason for the fall of our economy was the fact that america was attacked in a major way. that in return makes people afraid to invest money. then with all the fear of more attacks on our soil people wanted to hold on to their money. People its all there right in front of your faces, then on top of the lack of investing we had the airline industry "hello" we were attacked with our own airplanes people were afraid to fly which cut air travel by more than 78% which put a major blow on the market. how do you blame that on one man.

Then we have taxes, everyone in america bitches about paying taxes but hey we have no choice. But then at a time when americans were holding on to there money in fear of more attacks Bush lowered your taxes in hope of more consumer spending. and now liberals want to complain about haveing more money in there pockets?????
which brings up my next point, people like to say that the tax cuts were for the rich well that does have some truth to it...Bush also lowered the taxes to encurage more industrial hireing...if a company receives a tax break they can afford a larger work force. which the point is if you own a company there is a good chance you have more money than most, which in return may classify you as rich....have you ever got a job from a poor man?
not to mention the income tax cut was the same all across the board. percentage wise.

last but not least, unemployment......"read every thing I have already wrote" bad market less jobs. people afraid to fly, major cut in airline jobs. taxes get cut people start hiring again. infact last month unemployment was lower than it was during clintons last term.....hmmmm. and anyway there are many jobs available alot of americans are just lazy and don't want to have to earn a pay check. they want to sit behind a desk and have one handed to them...

so the way I look at it the american economy fell do to attacks on american soil which old slick willy swore to go after these terrorist. so therefore Bush took this country through A national tragity, walked us through step by step, got people spending again, got company's hiring again, made america saffer, america had the largest term of ecconomic growth in over 23yrs. And people still talk bad about him. if you vote for Kerry and you make over 90,000 gai I hope you don't mind paying 56% of your annual income to taxes.

The democratic goverment is equal to a drug dealer.

if they tell there follows what they want to hear they will keep comming back.

if they give them a little here and there "minorities, unions, naacp," they will do and say what ever they want them too.

no matter what the dealer does the fean always has his back.

And to whom ever said that clintons head job didn't cost any human lives....well what about his super distractor....the bombing of kosavo. lol. thats just being funny but then again who knows the timeing was perfect.

And let me say this too any tree huggers that may be reading this. if drilling in alaska would keep pump prices below a buck and keep my money out of those ragheads pockets then I say drill on my brothers....

BOTH SIDES ARE GOOD AND BAD. Thats it plain and simple. clinton did good things and bad things. bush has done good things and bad things. No matter what prez we get they will do bad in someones eyes and good in anothers. but for everyone who wants bush out of office u mush vote for kerry. because if u dont vote for kerry and u vote independent thats kinda like one more vote for bush. no matter how much u dont like kerry the only way to get bush out is to vote for kerry.

Posted by: Superballs5337

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX. Republicans are not better then democrates and vice versa. Only when we have some one more in teh middle will we have a better everything.

Posted by: Superballs5337

Question. Y does bill clinton, slick willy, etc. Y does he get blamed for every thing. sometimes i swear he is blamed for stuff that he never had any involvment it. if you watch oriley factor. he always every show has to bring up bills name for somethign he did wrong. im waiting to hear that it was his fault for the depression and his fault for the vietnam war and his falut for pearl harbor. i swear its like this man gets blamed for everything. it was prolly his fault for 911 too. BILL is a true pimp. i respect that man.

Posted by: Superballs5337

If we had a absolute monarchy we wouldnt have ne problems like this because we would be told what to do and that is that. lol

Posted by: KFX7005321

the way i feel about the war is that if Bush SR would have taken action when he was in office nd stoped sadamn we would not be in the place we are now with the war. for the most part i feel bush has done a great job with the hand he was delt. we should be gratful that we still have most of our rights and we are not under a comunist rule like in a lot of countrys in presant day and past history.

Posted by: kingpolaris

Reading that liberal propaganda just took 3 minutes of my life that I'll never get back!

All I have to say is that slick willie was more worried about what was going on under his desk than running the country...

Posted by: DEMENTED660R

So Ghostrdr, you want to talk about Clinton? The only thing he F*cked harder than Monica
was the way hard working citizens keep there jobs, and theland rights!!
