Spend a few bucks and buy a pre-made one off eBay and smoke everyone! Sometimes I feel like an ebay addict BR>

My Tech class was great cause our teacher wasn't concerned about and rules he let us build whatever we wanted. So my buddy and cut down a block of wood to about the size of a pencil (by hand) then put on the wheels and used titanium axles (made from R/C car shock shafts) then dipped the car in fiberglass resin (his dad owned a body shop) and painted the car purple then clear coated it. It was VERY LIGHT and strong as could be. Needless to say it dominated until the year after when a geeky little freshman cut one on some computerized lathe man that thing was wicked I don't know it stayed in once piece though.

put the axels high on the body so you have low ground clearance. trim as much of the wood off as you can, as long as you can keep the front end down.

i did a co2 car project for powerenergytech a few months ago, and had the fastest car built by anyone in the school in the last 2 years, 0-200 feet in like 3.4 seconds or sumthing like that, and 0-60 feet in 1.09 seconds, it was the only car to make the 200 feet. my strategy was to make it as light as possible, so i just kept shaving weight off it until it was at the minimum weight and i blew everyone away

Last year when i took that course...(i'm a freshman now)...we used CAD to design a body. They we shaped it with a big chunk of styrofoam. We used a rod that heat up and sliced through the chunk. Then we put it in a wind tunnel to see if it was areodynamic. Then I got the chunk of wood, turned on the bansaw, and started cuttin out the body. THen we used a drillpress for the hole in the back where the c02 goes and for the holes for the axels of the wheels. Then the teacher hooked it up to this machine to race them.. OUrs won 1st place.. OH YEA

And if you like that...take mechanical drawing and machine cad in 9th grade. I take that and i love it. If you can try to get some small engine repair in the shop in the highschool if thats possible. It helps alot.

Good luck with your car!

back in my senior year i built the fastest Co2 car in the school and it was the fastest all year. if you want my design PM me and i will give it to you. the teacher would pull me out of class to come race other students who would try to beat me. it was great.
