My DS650 hasn't been too great to me either. I was sooo fed up with $hit breaking I had it for sale. But after I bent my valves I put new ones in and had a 4 angle valve job done and it hasn't givin me any problems since, so I decided to keep her. One thing is certain, the DS650 motor IS FRICKIN BULLETPROOF. As the rest of it is, but I was having a lot of little $hit breaking on it all the time. But I dam near replaced everything once so it's good to go lol!

haha you're good, to bad mine runs everyday by hitting the key and push the button. My slow 4 stroke has the same top end and everything in it from when it was new... Too bad you can't say the same huh? Plus I didn't have to find a motor that's twice the cc as my stock motor to make it fast like you had to. I'll be able to ride my quad for more than an hour before my teeth rattle out because it don't vibrate like your quad would.
I'm just giving you $hit so no need to get mad, lol.

When you spend over $1000 on her, you know its a piece, haha, when it runs, it will rip your a$$ off the seat, Its scary fast, just unreliable, and as i have noticed, lots of other people have had numerous problems with their yamahas, like the topic about the messed up starter, of course the 01 tranny problems just to name a few

Im tired of replacing things on my banshee but no matter what im gonna keep her since 2 strokes wont be around much longer from what i hear. So far, ive had to buy new shocks, new bearings all the way around, bored up, and now im about to send it to the shop because my cdi is supposably messed up, oh brother....

heck, i do anything i can to keep from sending her to the shop! The only reason im sending it this time is so i wont be the one screwing up if i order it and thats not the problem, I hate sending stuff back cause that means it takes 2/3 times longer to get the right thing. When we took it to the shop to see if it was a problem with the carb, he checked the timing at an idle, it was fine, but when i revved it, the spark (going through a special thing that shows sparks as it travels to the spark plug) was distorted and going crazy, he said he thought it was the CDI so im probably going to order a new one some time.
