Hey hey...good job. It was worth the time for me also.

And yes...it's funny how we guys always find that right shot with a camera! BR>

Congrats! You will see it was well worth your time in the future.

Gosh this over been over 25 years ago now But I had a 1967 442 Convertible, auto, navy blue with a white top.

It was a fun car and pretty quick.

Congrats cutie!!! I have a master's(M.Ed.) in counseling. I am a director at a mental health clinic. My wife has a EDS and is currently teaching sixth grade in addition to being an adjunct professor at Auburn University. You will need those quads once you start teaching. It is a rewarding, but stressful job.Once again, CONGRATS!!!

Congrats, I hope to get my bach degree in ME next fall. I'm still not sure about getting a masters though. 2 more years

I love that 67 cutlass, I have a 66 442 I've been working on very slowly. Hopefully it will be done in next 5 years have to finish the 69 GMC first.

nwcutie,

That sounds about how my Cutlass is. The interior was mostly gone when I got it, it took out the rest. No spiders but a lot of mouse droppings It has seats now and it runs, doesn't stop to well though. It has a 455 and the m-21 4 speed. The body only has two bad spots, with some lite surface rust. I have a 69 GMC that I need to get done before the Olds gets started though.

Its a 2WD with a 4 spd and a 350, i drove it all through high school but needed a highway car for college. So I started a resto (kinda hard when I lived 2 hours away). Now I wont be here to work on it since I'm moving to MN to work till July but its well worth it. Oh well, at least I'll have some money to finish it when I get back.

Good job. I know how hard that is. Not that I have one, but have seen a lot of people working on them.

Posted by: reconranger

What is your degree in????

Posted by: reconranger

Ah! I taught Biology for a lot of years. Now I do medical research (a lot more laid back than teaching!). Good luck!!

Posted by: UBETRUN

Congrats!! Time to tune up the resume and see if the degree adds something to your bottom line.

I noticed the Bultaco Alpina in your sig, I had a Sherpa T and a Pursang in the late 70s. Awesome machines for the day but the kick starters were deadly:-) Do you ride in any classic races? There is a group that travels to the MX tracks in VA, MD, WV, and PA with the old machines, brought back a lot of memories the first time I saw them race (4" suspension travel:-).

OMG! I am so happy because I finished my Master's degree today. Two years, mucho dinero, and a ton of time working on it.

Now I will have more time to ride, hooray!

Of course, that is after I get the Christmas tree and some stuff to put under it for the kiddies (hmm...riding gear?)

That is my early Christmas present - now Santa, how bout a faster quad? BR>

Posted by: nwcutie

Recon,

My Bachelor's is in chemistry, master's is in teaching. Much fun, lots of time to ride (when not studying).

Posted by: nwcutie

Ubetrun,

I haven't ridden the Taco much, I got it from my dad and it needs some tranny work (only goes into first and second gear.) Otherwise the bike is like new. I plan to ride it more in the spring and then maybe hit some vintage events in the summer or fall.

Congrats to you Suzuki 587. Keep at it! I know this would have been he!!a easier if I listened to my parents and played by the rules. I was on the long range plan. Eww! I went back to school from a GED in 89 and have plugged away for 14 years - yikes!

My advice - listen to the smart people and take the easy way. I like to follow my own drummer and take the scenic route - it takes 10 times as long........

Thanks diablo - the forum folks in my area have been behind me and really supportive. Gotta love these folks!img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">BR>

Shady, I'm a Lute (Pacific Lutheran University) so I get to stay clear of the dawg-coug debate. We had dear old Frosty - no scandals there.

My pop started riding when we moved to the Bay Area in '69 - I spent a lot of time (as a small child of course exploring the surroundings while he did the all day enduros. It was very fun.

Say it, I can't believe how the camera thing seems to be hard-wired in you guys My boys are 4, 12, and 13 and they can't resist being naughty BR>
Thank you for the good thoughts. We are riding this weekend for the first time since Thanksgiving and only the second time since August. I've never had the blaster in snowy dunes before - it should be interesting.

Wolverine,

The Cutlass is my daily driver - it's got about 92,000 miles. When I got it and we were going through it, it had about a million spider egg sacs and stuff all over the place from sitting in a field. One of the brakes was fused together and there was a rust line where the grass was grown up around it. However, nothing too major - it's not a show car but a nice 20 footer. Not bad for under 5,000 total including body and paint. Much more fun than a Ford Taurus or some other nondescript boring car.

Wolverine,

I love classics - is the GMC 2wd or 4wd? The pre-73 body style looks nice. I have a beat 77 Chevy pick up that I use to haul the quads and the trailer. My son is already talking about what he'll do when he gets the pick up. haha.

My folks have a 72 Chevy 1/2 ton that is sweet for a stocker.

Your Dad rode with Malcolm Smith? Holy Classic Heroes Batman!! Wow!! I'm surprised nobody else picked this off your bio, but most of these guys are pretty young too......

Malcolm! Wow!

hey suzuki587 - what programming languages are they gonna take you thru?

Posted by: pimp250r

sweet...im sure you'll like c++...it's pretty crazy..im just a 'c' guy at heart, but a friend of mine is in college for computer science and he is doing c++...he's taught me some pretty neat tricks that are known by very few people...I guess his class is pretty tough and most fail...

Posted by: pimp250r

if I remember right..they talk about inheritense, binary search tree's, and a lot of other stuff..havent talked to em in awhile...the binary search tree is one of the coolest search algorithms Ive ever seen

Posted by: pimp250r

if you do VB you will not hear about it...the binary search tree is not hard to understand at all...it's just a real clever way to sor data and then search for it really quickly...like:
we all know in C and VB if we make an array of say 100 and have data in each part of the array...and we need to find something...we will have to go thru each one by itself..0 - 99 of the array ot until we find what we're looking for...but a binary search tree is different because it uses a greater than or less than tree in memory that's so effecient that if you have a tree of 1,000,000 entries that maximum memory jumps it will take to find what it's looking for is 20

it would be easier to draw a simple diagram on paper and show it to you...but as you learn c++, you'll see how powerful it is...and it's a lot of fun to do and a pretty straight forward language

Congrats nwcutie! I just finished my first semester in college. I plan on getting my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/ Computer Programming, but still got a ways to go!

Posted by: Suzuki587

pimp250R, Starting next semester I will be taking Introduction to computers and Visual Basic Programming. Basic stuff right now, classes I can pass with ease.

Posted by: Suzuki587

Also pimp250r, after those classes I will be taking Advanced Visual Basic, C++, Fortran, ETC.

Posted by: Suzuki587

Ut oh, Hope I can pass it then Na imma pass that class if I have to study even on the weekend hah which I know im going to have to probably, hate studying on weekends!!

Posted by: Suzuki587

Tell you the truth man, I have never heard of any of that lol. I programmed in Visual Basic 3.0 a lil bit and Qbasic about 2 years ago, and thats all the programming I have done. So im new at this.
