My longest ride was 300 miles in two days. We did 100 miles the first day then camped. Got up the next day and rode for 200 miles and took about 15 hours. We covered easy trails to rock crawling down a steep boulder canyon. That is a long ride. But it was a ton of fun!!!! I would do it again anytime. Generally our clubs ride 40-60 miles in a day. You just have to dress for the weather. I know a lot of people don't think about the temperature changes between town and the mountains.

Whenever I ride I go atleast 50 miles. Today I rode 50 miles one way to the Slash X near Barstow, Ca from my house in Apple Valley,Ca, then to the truckstop for gas and headed home.
Something different and kinda fun zig-zagging around trying to stay off streets. Saw 2 snakes!
How far do ya'll usually ride?

We were going to take a ride today that would have been around 85 miles. The people we went with took forever and we left too late. Went up another canyon 25 miles from the house. Unloaded at a resevoir and then climbed about 4000 ft in elevation (from about 6500 ft to about 10,500 ft) to some old mines and took some really great side trails. The trails had very steep climbs on atv trails up through Quaken Aspen Groves (all the leaves are gone) and back down the other side of another canyon to the mines. Ride time, about 4 hours and a total of 18 miles. Beautiful day and a great ride.
Our average trail ride is probably between 35 and 40 miles. As of today, 3940 miles and 466 hours of nothing but FUN!!!!

Must be nice living in unpopulated areas. I have to drive two hours to ride more than thirty miles. But it is worth it. Usually we go until we need to refuel. Usually 50 miles.

around here, any ride longer than your average GNCC race, i would consider long.

This spring, we went from Oliver Springs, TN. to Middleboro, KY, by way of Carryville, in 13 or so hours; 150-60 miles of nothing but cold rain, sleet or snow, depending on what elevation you were at (the sun did come out......... 'once').
That is how long I 'now' describe; a "long ride"...............

A long ride depends on terrain and weather. I've been on 80 - 100 mile day rides and never gotten tired except for a tired a$$, and I've been on rides that were only 2 miles long and totaly got my a$$ kicked. I was out deer hunting and the temp. was about -15 and the wind and snow were blowing like a SOB. I decided to take a short cut across asome plowed fields. What a mistake. It took about 2 hours to get across this bumpy frozen wasteland. It's hard to even try and put into words, but that was the longest ride of my life. The worst thing was, about half way I could see my house and I was just getting my a$$ kicked.

60 miles of hard, fast desert riding is a pretty good day. Even on a sport bike with nice aftermarket suspension, I come home pretty thrashed.

Vegas to Reno , I would say that is a long ride

I think it depends on the riding conditions for me. 30 miles of really rough terrain seems long enough for me. 100 miles of smooth riding conditions seems pretty long.

a few weekends ago we did 120 miles sat&sun..once we have a few feet of snow we end up putting 160 or so miles a day on the snowmobiles.

I ride about 8-10 hrs

Ya i would sat 50miles it just about right there for a long ride in the nice weather. But in the cold snowy weather 35miles seems just as long as that 50 in the nice weather. LOL

most of our rides are like 10 miles, but we go back and forth from our jumps to the hypro-planing areas, to the bars and juts tear around all over, so we put about 80 to 100 miles a day
