I sometimes drive my dad's van and you can't see the hood on that. I don't have any problems though.
It sounds like you are getting ripped off on that rearend though. A Currie Stage 1 COMPLETE rear end WITH locker is only $2200. I have replaced rear ends before and there really isn't a lot to it. With a few buddies and some jacks and jack stands, It only took us about 30 minutes to remove the onld axel. SO, They shouldn't be charging you that much even with labor

Yeah, you can get them cheap from a junk yard. Look for something that has a limited slip or locking diff. It makes for some fun powerslides and burnouts Also, a lower gear ratio will give you better acceleration. All the info should be on the axel itself. Is the camaor a 4.3 or 5.7???
Posted by: BigBadScrambler
OH yeah, that never put the 4.3 in the camaor did they. Oh well, its a good torquey motor. Didn't they put the 3.8 in there too??? Oh well, if it has the 5.7 they you may want to look for a rearend with a posi. My blazer with the 4.3 breaks traction SOOOOOOO easily. I can't even imagine what it would be like with a 5.7 and a open diff

Oh. I did misunderstand you then. LOL. I was thinking that 3500 for an axel was outragous. LOL

I would go for it. The price isn't that bad

The 500HO has been around for a while and has very well proven itself. It is a very capable machine. The 600 twin is the same quad with a bigger engine. It is a little faster and has better torque and more pwer. I love powerso if I had to chose I would go with the 600. What is the price difference between the two? Have you checked around locally?

Is this camaro a 6 spd? and I believe a 95 camaro with a LT1 5.7L has 275hp is this correct?

Offer him $3000 cash. Did you check Kelly blue book? I wouldn't pay over low blue book. It does have over 118,000 miles on it. so it's gotta be low blue book.

I was wondering if any of you have one, z28 or base. I was wondering if you could see the hood when driving with a power seat raised up all the way. I know that this is a stupid question but I need to know. please help if you can. also if you can't is it hard to get used to if you have never drove a vehicle with out seeing the hood. the reason i am asking is because I have never driven something without seeing the hood.
also do you think this would be a good deal. I found a 1995 camaro z28 with 118000 miles on it that runs good and has a new transmission, but the downside it that it will need another rear end but i can get the car like it is for $3500. so if you can help me with this please reply. thanks.

come on guys I know some one on here has to have a camaro that can answer my question.
Posted by: curlytop
he could be wrong but my dad said that I could get one from a junk yard for around $200-
$500. I am not looking for something special just something that is like the one on it now.
Posted by: curlytop
not trying to be smart or anything but i think you mean 3.4 or 5.7 and it is a z28 with a 5.7
Posted by: curlytop
yes bigbadscrambler they did put the 3.8 in them from 96 and up, i think. the rest lower than that was the 3.4
Posted by: curlytop
hey bigbadscrambler i was reading my first post on here and I think you misunderstood me I didn't mean the axle for that price I ment i can get the car for $3500
Posted by: curlytop
so what do you think, is it a good deal or not.

no this z28 is automatic, but that is what I want because I just need a vehicle to drive and I want something with alittle pep to it. also yes they do have about 275 ponies of power.

hey bigbadscrambler thanks for your help and also I am thinking about getting a sportsman and was wondering how good a 500 ho is to a 600 twin.
Posted by: curlytop
I ain't stupid yes i checked and the low was around 4800, and i would say that the price he is asking is less than that.

I have a 94 camero and I can't see the hood either. It is wierd at first but it is something you just get use to. The hardest part is parking and telling how close you are.
