HEY HEY HEY, hold on.... before you go jumping to conclusions have some heart, lock your bike up just in case but have a little faith in the guy, odds are he was an older feller (mabe 20's) but much older to your son and he PROBALLY had good intentions. US shee riders are few and far between and for the most part have a hard time finding somebody to ride with, I'll ride with ANYBODY and I ALWAYS go up to who'ever I see on the trails and talk to them. Everybody seems scared that I'll smoke 'em, what they don't realise is I ride by myself 98% of the time and I'll wait for ya!

You said he has a new machine and is 'older' odds are he paid for it with his hard earned money, anybody that works for a living and saves up enough money to buy a machine a toy for pleasure not getting back and forth to work, has the respect not to steal another persons quad who has worked/sweated/hated life to get a little piece of heaven.

I can tell you this if the shee'rider we're talking about had any mods to his machine he was probally offering a helping hand to your son, mabe he heard how it was running and new how to FINE tune it, shee riders know ALOT about engines (well anybody that can keep their shee running does) and are more that willing to lend a hand to help somebody that doesnt really KNOW what they are doing.

I'll tell you right now I'm VERY intimaditing on the trails and mabe even suspicious to somebody who's never seen me ruling the aera, not to brag or anything like that (I think its the sound and the monster grill) BUT every single person I've ever really TALKED to on the trails not just look at funny has felt some kind of link or common demonatior after they've taken the time to shoot the s#it, give respect and you get respect, act all suspicious and you'll get the same back, most are just curious as to what the h#ll that crazy looking/sounding thing is!?! Was it a UFO?!. We're all looking for a good time with good people. The ONLY person I'd be suspicious of is somebody that doesnt have a quad who comes up to you asking questions. For the most part anybody that does have one that they've worked for only have good intentions.

The shee riders that REALLY maintain their machines will NEVER steal from you, they've put too much time/effort/blood/sweat/tears/money into their machines and have more respect for other peoples property (including land) then the "out-sider" "non-hyper machine" rider can possibly understand. I keep my trails open by being a role model and respecting the land and people.

Oh yeah, and this boy here RULES the tar in my town, you know why???????????? BECAUSE I give the respect and the people give it back to me, no matter how loud the machine is, never had the cops/wardens called for any reason & they all wave when they see me AND my machine isnt registerd! They know if they hear me screaming by at 1:00 in the morning I'm in control and not doing anything I shouldnt, if anything I'm POTrolling the aera. Its a beautiful thing.

Basically don't judge somebody UNTIL you've walked a mile in their shoes or AT THE LEAST talked to them face to face, their intentions could be better then good..................................

Still lock the quad though, even with the respect I have you never know when a drunk/stoned b@stard will decide to go for a joy ride. I run a solid stainless u-lock through the rear sproket and a big @ss chain connected to a propane tank to the front (steal it but YOU'll make a hella lot of noise and I'll find ya, shee's pretty loud and VERY destinct) BR>
Peace out and have faith in your quadding brother, be weary of the quadless one...

never thought about chaining them that way... where can I get one of these locks and how much?

After you chain the bikes together put a padlock through the holes in the disc brake or sproket too.

I recommend the dog. Best insurance you can get. You have to train them to only eat from you - but its worth it.

Any of the mail order places will carry them. They are EXPENSIVE!! Over $100 for a long quad chain and lock!! Get the "Fahgettaboudit" one if you can!! I would recommend the 4' 3" Noose chain.

I chain my bikes in a big circle. Every bike is chained to 2 other bikes. Not going anywhere!!!

or bury it

The person may have been trying to be friendly, but you never know. I use a Kryptonie chain and lock on my quad, as well as parking my Jeep against the grab bar, which has a alarm with a shock sensor, so if the quad moves, the Jeep alarm will go off. I also use motion lights around the garage, have a very big dog on duty, and if all else fails, my buddies Mossberg and Smith and Wesson have never failed me!!! Can you say...PARANOID!!!!

I would reccomend the lock, but also maybe the motion lights, only because I have heard of people being able to bust Kryptonite locks.

Thanks a lot reconranger i bought the chain today so i will tie it up very tight thanks again.

I have a rottwieler so there are no worries there and the guy well never saw him again but i think hes ok he is not trying to get it i hope.

I did buy the Kryptonite alarm though and have chains all over it now so its going to be a challenge to steal it and also tied it down i did some srilling on the floor screwd in some chain holders so its well stuck to the floor.I would also recommend wich i do everytime is take the tires off atleast the front.

And I think Yoshimura is right he just wanted to know me. But you can never be too safe.

Hey Yoshimura where do you ride?

I need to find good places to ride with some friends of mine.

HEEEELLLOO! Can you say garage? Hahaha, just kidding. Actually, we keep ours in the garage with our wave runners...trucks? They stay out and play!

And the puppy, she is almost trained to protect our toys.
