This is Polaris Country! At any ride I've been on - 90% will be polaris utility quads. There seems to be a Polaris dealer in every town, several in some. 7 within 30 miles of my house. Accessories are more popular here then in other states we've been - Tamarack boxes, windshields, bags and rear baskets. GPS, water and fuel packs, rear flood lights - its like Outback walkabout or something...several innovative setups for 2up riding - foot pegs, handholds etc. A guess would be that the trend is more towards rugged recreational riding - vs. high speed performance riding.

There are a lot more dirt bikes here than quads, expecially at the race track. But the most common type of quads by far are 400ex and 300ex's. Also where I ride, utility quads out number the sport quads.

I live in NS and around hear there are alot of Blue,white/black banshees. Warriors that are yellwo and black, and ones that are white. and lots of 400ex's and raptors and z-400's . I drive a white Mojave! and have never seen anouther one around!

Just wondering. Here in SoCal I see lots of yellow 400ex's, yellow Z-400's, Blue Warrior's, Blue/white Blasters, red/white Banshees and black Raptors. I own a Green Mojave and have only seen 3 other Green Mo's in the last 2-3 years. Saw a white Mo last week.

The kawi 650 prarie seems to be popular on the kawi topic page but I've never seen one here.

What do you see when your out riding?

no particular ride stands out but alot of people i know have utility quads (prairies, ranchers etc...) where i ride i see alot of 300ex, 400ex and raptors with some banshees and warriors. to each his own , i guess.

what i mean is that due to so many different quads that i see, that proves that everyone likes different types of quads. some like utility, some like pure speed, some want a combo of both. just a saying like whatever crumbles your cookie. whatever floats your boat, etc... does that clear it up for you?

hey Chris, i used to know every trail out there! lucerne valley, soggy dry lake, etc, etc. fun stuff!

seems on the west coast its mostly sport quads and the east coast utes. midwest is pretty well mixed.
here lots of yamahas of all types, lotta hondas, some polaris and i've never seen a ds650.
theyre prob all nearer the dunes since theyre a good dune quad.
lets see my family has: 3 raptors, a warrior, a blaster, and a 300ex.

go ridin!!!! :cool

mojavekid13, where in N.S are u from? I live in Truro.

where i live there are mainly honda's, and polaris', and i think polaris is starting to be more prodominant. (sp??)

Lots of honda 450 4x4 here, big bike here is 650 kawi. a few artic cats in 4x4 available. Honda is biggest by far .Town has biggest dealer in western canada for honda. We even see a few poles, those people are mainly sled people, who knew how good the sleds are , mainly are doing some wishfull thinking when the purchase their quad. My brother did this once a long time ago in a land far away. He bought a Johnson or evenrude snowmobile because his outboard engine worked so good, boy was he wrrrrrrong. Oh was he wrong.

400EX's and blasters are popular around here. so are utility quads. theres this blaster with these annoying RED rims that drives past my house all the time. a few lt250r's too.

About 80% of the quads around here are utilities- Kodiak, Rancher & Sportsman. However, the Eiger is becoming very popular. I personally like the Grizzly and Kodiak. One of my riding buddies has a Kodiak and it is an impressive quad to say the less. This is a 2x4 and it rarely gets stuck. Sport quads- lots of 400ex(s) & Raptors. People love that Yamaha blue for some reason. Most of the Yamahas are blue around here. The Banshee is not as popular in most of my riding spots. That technical stuff is murder on a Banshee.

I never thought of it much, but Raptor8 is right, midwest is really mixed. I see a lot of utility and a lot of sport quads. P650 is big here, as well as the new Rincon, and the larger Polaris Sportsmans. In the smaller towns around here it seems that the popular brand is determined by whatever dealership is closest. I have only seen one or two ACs in all my riding. I don't even know where an AC dealership is. Red Scramblers and Red 400ex's are in abundance. That is just in my experience. But it is so mixed it is really hard to tell.

Use to be you rarely saw a ute here in So Calif., but there are more of them all the time. Mostly they are popular with the hunters and older riders who aren't so interested in performance. I think a lot of newby riders look at the terrain and can't imagine getting around without a 4X4. They don't realize that using the momentum of a light sport bike is usually a better tactic than grappling for traction with a big heavy hulking ute. But, here in the desert we don't have to deal with the mud and snow you have in other parts of the country.
