I know this was discussed at some point in the old forums, so I apologize for the duplication, but I really want some advise on how to fabricate a helmet-cam. I know it can be done but I don't know what is the ideal setup. I am thinking it would be best to install a smallish camera onto my helmet and then to wire it into a recording device that I could strap to my back or to my ride. A color camera is definitely preferable and ideally, I would like the capability to record for an extended period of time so that I could tape an entire race (1.5 - 2 hours!). I figure I could even wire the thing into my 400EX to prevent having to carry around a battery pack. I am looking for any pointers on a good setup to accomplish this. I have seen some retail products available but they are prohibitively expensive ~ $2500. Any and all comments welcome. Regards, Dennis

I used to skydive and there was always at least one cameraman at every dropzone I jumped. These guys always used motorcycle helmets to mount their cameras on. I would find out if there is a dropzone near you and just drive out there and ask any skydiver. They were always nice people who would be happy to help, especially the cameramen. ------------------
