My friends spent all weekend at Muenster( Red River Cycle trails) and had a blast. The people that own the place have always been super nice but when my friend called ahead to make an appointment(get the gate combination) to get there Fri evening the lady was rather rude to him. That is, she was rude till she found out he was from a small town and had been comiong there for 5 years. She then told him that they'd had so much trouble with people from the "city" that she doesnt like giving out the combination anymore than she has to( they only there Sat and Sun to work the gate).
The point Im making is that when you go to a riding area, public or private, treat it with respect, clean up your mess and obey the rules. Its bad enough that the politicians are trying to take away all our public riding area.
Remember, when you ride, you are representing thousands of off-road enthusiasts like yourself, DONT SCREW IT UP!

Muenster is stillthe cleanest place around but I didnt see any trash barrels. Now they have a sign up that says bag your own trash, they even give you a trash bag when you enter if you dont have your own, and a couple of trash trailers to throw the bags in. Hopefully people appreciate the place enough to pick up after themselves.

Muenster is a small town west of Gainsville. Actually, the riding area is Red River Cycle trails north of there but most people refer to it as Muenster.

I believe that most of the people here on this forum are responsible & do represent our sport very well.
It is those other idiots who don't care because they are portraying the "I am a bad a$$" attitude.
Its that small percentage that is going to spoil it for all of us.
Time to step off the soap box.

We have the same problems here in Missouri.
Some friends and I went to Mark Twain forest for a weekend of riding and camping and when we got there the people who had the campsite before us left us some really nice empty beer bottle and plastic plates, bags, and etc. not only in the firepit but also in all around the campsite. This concerns me do to the fact that the woman who cleans up the campsites told us the people in charge of the area are getting fed up with this and were considering taking action, which means closing the forest to atvs and bikes.
By the way yes we did clean up the site but we didnt know we had to clean it up BEFORE AND AFTER STAYING THERE.
Sorry just had to vent.

I agree with you... but unfortunately a lot of ATV'ers want to be "bad to the bone" xtreme riders.(that darn attitude) Lots of them tear up private land or just don't stay on the trails. There is also a facination with exhaust noise. It's O.K. in the dunes but not everywhere else.
Respect is what could keep our sport alive.

I'm actaully surprised. Last time I was up there I didn't see any litter or anything. It was the cleanest place I have been. I hope people aren't trashing it. :(

There were trash barrels last time I was up there. Wonder what happened. Doc, there is a map and directions on my site.
