Hi,
I noticed a friend of mine putting 4 stroke oil (10w-30) in the gas to mix for the 50:1 ratio because he was out of 2 stroke oil. I know this is not a good idea. Do you think the Stihl got damaged? I would think the oil would not mix properly with the gas (too thick). What do you guys think?

Probably the biggest problem would be fouling plugs.

i know of some of the old outboards done fine on 30w oil any oil will mix with gas. just don't think i would use 30w all the time just when in a tite.

Also if you let the saw set up for awhile,it can cause the carb to stick with laquer from untreated gas, thats why I use stihl oil.The reg. oil want hurt the saw,but make clog the carb.
