I use a Swisher Rough Cut to keep the weeds and such down along the road right-of-way and around the farm buildings. A lot of this ground is fairly rough and to date the Swisher has done well with no failures. I use a Prairie 360 to tow it an have found, when cutting down sagebrush, that the Rough Cut will chop up pretty much anything the quad will run over.

If you contact the people at Swisher they will advise you on the mower that would be best suited to your needs. I have found them to be very helpful and good to their word.

If you have the option of a larger engine I would suggest you get the most horsepower they offer. Heavy grass can suck up a lot of power.

I have used the Swisher, and it is quit good. If I were to buy one I would definitely get the largest engine possible. The more power you have the faster you can mow.

I have about 12 acres of wide open pasture that needs to be mowed only once a month or so. It is too rough to mow with my zero turn. I am considering getting a trail mower to pull behind my ATV to mow it with. Does anyone have any experiance doing this? Would you recommend it for my needs? The grass needs cut and it needs to be done in a short amount of time but it doesnt have to be pretty. My only other option that I know is to buy a used tractor with a bushhog which is going to be much more expensive. Anyone have suggestions? One trailmower I have looked at is the swisher 60 inch. It is available for about 1200. I am also open to other brand suggestions. Thanks.
