Back home in NW Mn nearly everyone I know has at least one ice house available. Some are just the inexpensive kind that you can tow w/ a wheeler or snowmobile. Others are like mini houses w/ kitchens, beds, etc. One thing for sure, I don't know anyone that fishes w/o one when the wind is blowing.....I've been out on the ice @ 50 below zero and a thirty knot wind on Lake of The Woods, sitting inside w/ shorts and t-shirt. We mostly play cards and drink beer, and a little fishing on the side...

Thanks Eric, I appreciate it.

Dress warm, have warm dry boots, Bring a coffee thermos and a cooler of beer. I cook while out on the ice. my favorite is deer steak on the grill. Oh, you'll want good sun glasses or goggles.
I can't stand being in an ice hut so i stay outside.
Have fun, I don't summer fish anymore, i prefer ice fishing, more action!!!!!

I for one thank you for your service and dedication to fighting for this country. All politics aside ,it's people like you that make this country what it is.
Thank you and be safe if you have to go back.

Well I'm heading out to PA this weekend to give this ice fishing a try. I'm not a fan of fishing unless I have a T-shirt on but i'm open to new things and i'm gonna give this a go. Has anyone ever done this before or do it often? Any advice or tips? Thanks

To be honest with you, I know nothing. I was invited up through a friend of a friend. Apparently he has everything i need as far as gear is concerned. Other than that, i'm out in the dark. I'm just going to see what it's all about and ty something new.
