I'm down here in KY. Can't speak for the hunters, but I can tell you the cars on I-64 did great this year. Driving from Lexington to Louisville one day, I counted 11 deer on the side of the road.

Someone nailed a 10 point buck with a magnificent rack on it. I was on the way to work, so I couldn't stop. It was gone when I went home that evening.

Saw 8 deer on stand all day. LOTS of shooting all around me, I'm assuming shooting doe. That's just STUPID to do with the herd as small as it is.

DON'T even ask! lol. Not a good first two days. The first day I had two underneith my stand right at light. They were coming in closer, and given another minute or two they would have been close enough to see how big they were. Just then, right on time, our neibor rides up on his quad. RIGHT AT FIRST LIGHT! Two quads come up right by the stand, and stop half way up, and start talking and yelling at each other. They then proceed up past us to where they are hunting. Needless to say the deer that were under the stand took off, and we never saw them again. Its the same thing every year. The neibor comes up on his quad right at light. The worst part is, that its not his land and we have asked him a number of times to come an HOUR or more before light so that it does not effect us in any way. Nevertheless he still rides up past us and this year it finally happend, he scared off what we think was one of the nice bucks. We said something to his boy that evening, and he said he would make sure that it didnt happen again. Well I was in my stand tuesday, and 7:00 sharp he came right up past again. Words cannot describe how mad I was. I am not going to be able to get back out until this saturday, but rest assure that he will NOT be riding up past again. I will personally sit at the bottom of the trail and make him turn around and leave.

Alright I'm done venting....I feel better now.BR>
As for the hunting part, not much has been happening up our way. I saw 3 total on the first day. The two that came early, and then one half rack about an hour later. As for tuesday, only saw two deer. They took off in the thicket, and I couldnt tell what they were. Its too dang warm! Hopefully next week will bring in some better weather....and fewer ATV's.

My uncle did get a NICE 8 point. It had about a 17 inch spread and 7-8 inch G2's. A definite wallhanger.

Amen to that. No one needs to be shooting more does. The herd is WAY too small for that. Its rediculous how few deer we have been seeing. Ever since they started that dang 2 weeks of doe and buck, its consistantly been getting worse. It wasnt too bad the first few years, but now it is out of hand. Hopefully something will be done about it.

Well the season ended for me on thursday. No such luck with getting something this year. Oh well there is always next.

So? I didn't see ONE freakin deer all day. And I do mean all day. 11 hours on stand and all I saw was squirrels, grouse, song birds and then a dead deer I helped load on my brother's fourwheeler. Oh well, I got five more days I'm going out. So, even if you're not from PA, how'd yians do?

I live in NY, but haven't missed the PA opener in 5-6 years now until this one. My dad's hunting partner died on Thanksgiving and the funeral was Monday at 1PM which ruled out the entire day. He was like a second father to me and I'm very sad to see him go. Now both of them are gone
(my dad almost 2 years ago) but their stories and jokes live on. I'll be down there to shoot my buck on Monday and Tuesday of next week. If not It is what it is. Good luck to all.

Well, I was there on Monday. It was cold out there. I had 5 does come out at last light so I took the biggest one. Done for this year in PA.
