Are you going to try to camp at the north campgrounds ? We will be there about 9:30 saturday morning. We dont know our way around but we will look for your yellow trailer
Brent
Posted by: WildRaptor911
Im going to TRY to get a spot in the north camp grounds, if im not there i will be in the south camp somewhere in the south end.
Just look for my rig and Pauls old snap on van. If im not in camp just stick around because we will looking for you all.
Posted by: Bluegoose
Raymond,
Yea give me call. We are loaded. Bikes, sandrail everything except my clothes. I should have took off tomorrow, but the rest of my bunch would have to work. We should be there 11:00-to midnight. I still have to get fuel and load up some firewood after school . Kathy(Matt's girlfriend) doesn't get off work untill 6:00pm. I will have the diesel engine warmed up and ready to go when she gets here.
Bob helmets are not required!!!! The only requirement is a flag that extends to 10ft above the ground. Lights front and back for night riding. Heck plastic fenders aren't even required. Good thing, Kathy is riding NAKED, the quad is naked actually.

Hey guys, I'll be leaving Edmond between 6:30 and 7:00 Sat. I should be there between 9-9:30. If you see a guy wandering around lost in a dirty purple dodge w/ a mirrored OSU tag wave him down! See everyone there!
Aaron

Away we go!!!!
See you guys there.

Hey Brent, Are we going to try to meet somewhere at a certain time tomorrow morning at LS? What are you going to be driving?
Aaron
Posted by: Bluegoose
Hey guys I just talked to Raymond and he said it is packed up there. He said it was like a Memorial Day weekend. We are leaving at 4:00am. We have a little farther to go than most.
Aaron, One of the best places would be by the restrooms at the north camp entrance. We will be driving a 1996 Ford f-350 Crew cab 4x4 Dark green with a white gooseneck horse trailer. Matt will be driving a 1994 Z71 pulling a red gooseneck flat bed with the Sand rail on it.
Don't forget your GOOGLES!!!!
Ronnie
Posted by: WildRaptor911
HA HA HA HA ! I bet you guys got your asses wet.
I think Ronnie and I had the right idea when we bugged out of there.
Other than getting wet and watching Ronnie blow 2nd gear out on his buggy I had a good trip.
Hope all you guy made it home in one piece.
Raymond
Posted by: Bluegoose
Gosh I'm glad we left when we did. The weather must have been fun to ride out up there. We watched the line go through from the TV in Watonga while we were waiting for the other storm to go through Geary and Greenfield.
Ray, I should have just slowed down since the sand was wet. I always bust something on wet sand. Too much HP for the other parts. I should have known better when I got that sick air right off the start. It must have been worse than I thought, cause BJ & Matt thought it was going over side ways.. That would be better than end for end. That is the reason for going up there, to push the limits.
Hope you guys got home okay.
Mike. Look at at the fun you missed. Broken parts, lots of hard rain, hail and chance of Tornados.
Ronnie
Posted by: Bobman
Ronnie,
We waited out the weather then the remainder of the night was great. We had a great camping experience as well as good riding the next day. I left out earlier than Aaron and Brent, Shane and Christie they were still on the dunes when I left. We got some good video of the guys and Christie riding. I didnt think I would like the sand at first..and at first I didnt...but once I figured out that it was't REALLY going to kill me it got fun.
Bob
Posted by: trailride
Yea guy's the night and sunday were great. You all missed me rolling my brothers warrior down one of the large dunes. Good thing it landed on me or that warrior might of gotten hurt And who can forget when i rolled my 650 in the trails . But other than me ripping the taillight off my wifes V-force none of the bikes or us were hurt. I heard some guy died out on the dunes. I did hear 3 ambulances come into north camp that night and sunday. Other than the twister threat, 70mph winds and 3" of rain we had a great time. But never again will i go this time of year. Ill wait till atleast may to do this from now on.
Ronnie, After watching those rails out on the dunes riding the top in a wheelie, i really want to ride in yours. Those things look like a blast
Brent
Posted by: Bobman
Man Guys I had a grat time.
As you all can tell I am hardly an expert rider and I am not in it for the thrills but I really enjoyed going and hanging out with you guys. This was the 3rd time I rode with Brent and Shane and second time with Lonnie and Aaron and the first time I met Christie. It was great to get to know everyone better. Shane and I chatted a while after everyone else went to hit the hay.
After I left you guys I rode around for a few more minutes. I found a really small areas of trails down in that scrub brush I liked really well so I rode it for a few minutes then went on home.
I wish that Ronnie's family and Raymond & his wife could have camped closer (or us closer to them since their camp was better). Then we could have gotten to hang more with them a little more. All in all I think it was really fun. I am looking forward to going to SE OKlahoma sometime soon....
Bob

What do all of you think about having a ride at Lake Murray on April 10th (Saturday) !
I've never rode there and I have been wanting to for a long time so I thought it would be great if we could
have a group ride there.
I've been told there are some realy good trails there and the good thing is its not near the drive like LS is.
Let me know what you think about it?
Raymond
Posted by: Bluegoose
Okay Brent as soon as I get the tranny fixed your up for a ride. I wish the weather would have been better. I wish I would have just backed off the throttle a little. This spring has been expensive at Little Sahara. Two trips and two major repair bills. This last one will be a little over 4 times what the plastic cost. I got the estimate this morning. I'm going to have to sell a cow or two. I guess I will have to play on the river for a while until they get my tranny ffixed. I ordered a hell for stout one this time. I hate break downs.
I will be ready to go again in 3-4 weeks. I will have a new tranny and need to test it for stoutness. I love testing new parts.
I'm glad everyone had a good time. I wish I would have been there to see some of the riding. We will have to go again.
Ronnie
Posted by: trailride
Ronnie,
Wow i know what plastic cost , and you said it will be 3-4 times that. WOW. Do you always judge cost by cows. (j/k) Yea after seeing those rails on the dunes i know it has to be a blast. I told my wife you have one and i said you might take her for a ride. Then she saw those out, and said NO WAY. But i bet we can get her to do it. Ill be up for another trip to L.S. very soon. Lets just wait till after tornado season.
Brent
Posted by: bearaf
Ditto on the good time! Hopefully I'll be able to get my wife to go next time! I'm looking forward to the next time everyone gets together.
Aaron
Bob's not lying, he makes killer eggs!
Posted by: Bluegoose
I'm thinking April 30th, May 1st & 2nd. We have a three day weekend theere. We didn't use our snow days so that Friday is an off day. I should have the tranny in and need to test. I ordered it yesterday. He cut me a better deal and now it is only 1 1/2 cows ($1300). I'm going to order a new performance chip for the computer today. Oh there goes the other 1/2 cow. It should really rock then. Brent, she will love it after the first shock.
I hate it that I missed the breakfast. That is my favorite meal of the day.
We have to all get together and do it again. My V-Force isn't naked any more. I got the plastic yesterday and put it on last night. Now I have to put on all the decals.

OOOOOOO come on anyone for Lake Murray?
Posted by: trailride
Raymond,
Whats at lake murray ? Is it just a large trail system ? Im up for that. It will be a few weeks before i can go ride. Time to start on the yard. 5 acres is alot of yard to start on But ill be ready after that, or after easter weekend.
Brent
Posted by: bearaf
I've been to Murray once, and it was a lot of fun. It has a lot of trails and they don't get near as narrow as Draper does. Has some washouts and some whoops. RV camping as well as you can camp inside the riding area, just take what you need in with you and find a spot. I'd definately go back!
Aaron
Posted by: WildRaptor911
Brent
We could shoot for april 17th or 18th !
Aaron
About how many miles of trails would you say that Lake Murray has?
I read on a web sight that said there where 10 miles of trails but the guys i've talked to said there
was more than that ?
Ronnie
I will be due for some more sand when you get the buggy up and going agin!
I realy enjoyed riding with Matt and Ty.
I'll be ready for the next trip!
Ray
Posted by: bearaf
Ray, I'm not sure, It was this time last year that I was there. They were working on opening more trails when I was there. I would think it was a little bigger than that though.
Aaron
Posted by: trailride
I think i can do the 17th. Where is lake murray? Id also like to try to ride L.S may 1st but we will have to see on that.
Brent
Posted by: Bluegoose
The 17th sounds good to me. It will be after tax dead line. Like I will file on time. That is what extensions are for.
I beleive that there is more than 10 mile at Lake Murray. I will check and make sure that they aren't have a OCCRA race that weekend there.
I'm shooting for the May 1st weekend to test the buggy. I hope to have everything back together before that. The computer chip should be here next week and the tranny the week after Easter. Then 2-3 evenings to install everything and adjust linkage and go for a road test.
Ronnie
Posted by: WildRaptor911
OCCRA will not be racing there on the 17th!
Ronnie Do I need to get a rear skid plate ? Is it rocky there?
Raymond
Posted by: bearaf
Ray,
It was mostly sand, and dirt, I don't really remember any rocks.
Posted by: trailride
Well it looks like i cant make a trip to lake murray. I dont want to drive that far , ride then come back. My wife has to work alot of saturdays this month including may 1st. So that throws L.S. out of the window.
What do you guys think of maybe riding at prague lake. My last ride was 19 miles .It has tons of trails, mud , campsites .Bathrooms and showers. We could even grill some dogs if we want. Not trying to change any plans but this place is pretty close. Really close for me.
Brent
Posted by: WildRaptor911
Sorry Brent but im going to stick with lake murray the last time i went to prague lake i spent
over an hour stuck in a big a$$ mud hole.
Posted by: nukeim
If someone has off....I'm thinking of hitting Draper tomorrow at about 1.
If I can't make it tomorrow, I will most definately be out there on Friday. Rain or shine.
Also...Anyone want to hit the River (Purcell) this weekend? Or somewhere else? I'm pretty open. Maybe my new bars will be in before then.
Can ya'll tell I havn't ridden in a couple of weeks?
Posted by: trailride
Raymond
This time you will be with big 4x4's with winches. I know prague pretty good and i could tell you where not to drive.

Mike, I'd ride with ya but I have a baseball tournament this weekend. I may be able to swing sunday if its not raining. Saturday I'm in Guthrie all day playing ball.

This weekend is out for uus. We have family coming in from Kansas City for the weekend.
Brent, Ty and I wll go go to Prague with you sometime. I think I will leave the V-Force home and take the 4X4's thouh.
Aaron is right. Mostly sand and some tree roots. Stock skids should be all that is needed. I usually don't ride where there is large rocks. Not twice any way.
Ronnie
Posted by: bearaf
I already have so much red mud in my yard the neighbors think I'm trying to turn my yard into a moto track!
The new green plastic withstood the rain and hail and I have some scratches now so I think its broke in
Posted by: trailride
Did we all die off or what ?
Posted by: bearaf
I was wondering the same thing.
I think I'm going to try to take my wife to the cimarron by Guthrie Sunday if anyones interested. Haven't been there in a while but I have never seen anyone else except an air boat fishing.
Aaron
Posted by: nukeim
I'm game, what time you want to go?
Posted by: HavinSomeFun
I have never been there on a wheeler? Let me know when I might just go.............
Posted by: nukeim
Looks like Sunday morning.
Posted by: trailride
Where is this cimarron place ?
Brent
Posted by: bearaf
It's right off highway 74C. If you take the first Guthrie exit and go to downtown, then jog one block east then back north at the car dealership (can't miss it) head out of town 2-3 miles and you come up to the bridge. You get on the river on the south side of the bridge, depending on how its flowing it can be a little hairy. I haven't been there in quite awhile. I have a couple of baseball games in Guthrie tomorrow so I'll be able to get out and look at it to see if what its like. If the waters up too high we'll have to find somewhere else. Our finals game isn't until 7 so it will be around 9:30-10 before I can post the findings on the river.
Havin--hows the river by your house? Is it up quite a bit from the rain last weekend?
Aaron
Posted by: HavinSomeFun
They are releasing water from Overhaulser today. It was DEEP! If they close the damn it will go down quik, I will be going to church about 8am and I will look and see what the deal is. They usually shut it down Sunday morning and by mid morning its cool to go ride again. Even if you cant get down on the river there are several trails/tracks to ride on for miles. Or if you are brave try and cross the river like I did. Now that was exciting! or real stupid................

No posts for three days?? What's up with that?
I figured that the board would be jumping right now, with the weather getting soooo nice.
When's the next meeting Bob?

Could we have some more rain PLEASE!!!! My arms aren't quite tired of treading water yet!

Finally got my new bars, grips, and clamp in, and put them on.
I got the Trailtech X bars and Logo clamp. They look awesome.
Not sure what I'll do now, I'm not used to having bars that aren't bent. BR>
I think they need some mud on them.
Posted by: bearaf
The mud is real easy to find right now!!
Posted by: Bobman
MIke...I am glad you asked about the next meeting....
Brent and I were thinking April 24th....which of curse is the last Saturday of the Month.
If this works for everyone else please let me know.
I was also thinking about having the meeting outside down at the Train depot on the river. I don't have anything against the restaurant (in fact we can still go there after the meeting) but sometimes it seems like the restaurant is too noisy and crowded to really discuss stuff. By having the meeting at the actual depot thos who like to ride can ride before the meeting and those who cant or dont ride that day can still drive down to the depot and wont have to bring a quad.
You all let me know if you think that the date and place are acceptable.
Bob
Posted by: nukeim
If we're going to do that, we might as well have it right on the river. Less chance of the popo showing up, and running us off.
Oh, and the 24th is good for me. I'll be there.
Posted by: Bobman
Mike to get to the river itself you have to ride a quad. Some people might not want to ride that day. I know I myself will not have time to bring my quad since I will be leaving strait from the office to make the meeting. The depot has ample parking, and I don't think the police will run us off. What does everyone else think?

There are a lot of people in central OK that don't work...But most of them cannot afford quads. BR>
Seriously though, I work second shift, and frequently want to go riding during the week. I just don't like to go alone, as I'm not the best rider in town, and I fall off a lot. Not a good combination.
Best I can tell you is stick around, join our little club, and you'll probably find others that want to ride during the week. We are just getting started, so we don't have a million members (yet).
If you join now, you will be getting in on the ground floor of an organization that is sure to be destined for world domination... At least that's what Bob told me when he gave me my secret decoder ring, and taught me the special handshake. How could you pass up an opportunity like that?

Either of you guys have any of those pictures from little sahara? I got in trouble by my wife for not taking any out on the dunes. Sometimes I think I'm always in trouble!
Thanks, Aaron

I had a digital with me I was just to dense to take it! I'll be there on the 24th, I can't wait to go ride. I have to go out of town this weekend so I can't make it to Prague. Wish I could it sounds like fun and I always want to go to new places. I'm counting down the days until summer so I can get out more.

I would love to...But I have to go to Dallas on Saturday, and I don't know if I'll be up in time to make it home fast enough to be out there by 1.
You got me thinking though......I'm due a good ride. Let me look into what all I have to do, and I'll get back at you tonight or tomorrow. How soon do you need an answer?

Mike
Just tell me before saturday night. I think we moved it up an hour to 12 but if you want to come at one ill meet you at the gates. What time do you think you will be back from dallas ?

Brent,
I will try to make it Sunday. I have to pull a double shift saturday (7 AM - 11PM) at work so I will be pretty tired but I will try to make it....think we should have a pretty decent time if I am coherent enough and you keep all sharp objects out of my reach (Still do not have feeling in the left index finger) we should have a great time.
Bob

mike pm me for directions on where to meet
Posted by: Bobman
Brent...post directions to the Meeker store here on the site since I think there may be some other riders wanting to meet there. Is it exit 186? I know it is hiway 18 north.
Bob
Posted by: trailride
Last exit into shawnee exit 186. Then north (left) hwy 18 to meeker. There is a stop sign on hwy 18 in meeker the only stop sign. On your right there is a store we will all meet there at 11:30 - 11:50. Hope to see you all .
Brent
P.S. you might bring extra clothes incase of the mud, red mud its not all mud but some holes you cant avoid.

Are the sport bikes going to have any issues?

Hey, Don't be scared of the mudYou can handle it

No its not that bad, unless you want to follow me through some of the deep holes, then you might have issues. Most all of it is regular trail i never use 4 wheel drive until i want to play in the deep holes.

April Meeting---- Saturday April 24, 2004 5:30 PM
The meeting will be at the AMTRAK Depot in Purcell. The depot is located very near the staging area for those who would like to ride on the river prior to the meeting. The driving directions are as follows:
From I-35 take the first Purcell Exit (exits to the left) and Proceed south on Green St. thru Purcell until you get to Washington St. (there will be a Carl's Jr on your right). Here you will turn left (east) on Washington St. and drive until you reach Canadian Ave. Turn right (South) go one block to a 4-way stop sign. Turn left (east) and proceed down the steep hill. The depot will be immediately in front of you.
I know that Mike and Aaron plan to ride before the meeting and there may be others. After the meeting those who are interested can meet for dinner at The Broken Spoke in Lexington.
Bob

I had a great time riding with everyone this weekend. The turnout was great, even club members. The group you saw with me ill try to get them to join, they ride often so i think we could get this kind of turnout almost every time we ride. As for christie, she's a little sore but she will be fine, the bike on the other hand is'nt as bad a i thought. Just needs tierods, handlebars, and axel. I have it all ordered and should be here by this weekend. So in 2 weeks or so we will be up for another ride.

Brent,
I still want to know what happened that caused you to order tie rods, handlebars and an axle. I have a set of OEM tie rods if that happens again. I went to titanium rods.
Is anyone going to ride weather permitting on Saturday? Ty and I are interested in riding unless my sandrail's tranny gets finished this week. If that happens, I'm going to Fort Worth to get it.
Something for you guys to think about. 89er days in Lexington is Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It will be hard to get anything to eat unless you are looking for cotton candy and that kind of stuff.
Ronnie
Posted by: trailride
Ronnie,
Well it kinda went like this. At prague there is a good sized hill you can go down from one part of the trails. Well i went first , its no big deal ive been down it several times, but here comes christie on the V. Goes just a little far past the turn down the hill the proceeds to go down it gets off camber now shes facing sideways on the hill her hand slips , she gets scared gives her full throtle, it shoots up in the air, she falls off the side and back and the V fly's over her then lands on its side the proceeds to do 2 1/2 more flips till it reaches the bottm upsidedown. Christie now wants to wear a helmet i dont blame her. It wasnt a pretty site to see that quad upside down on its 2nd ride. But everything should be here by next friday and we will be ready for a ride. The only thing that bent other than the bars tierods and axle was the steering stem mount . The "U" shaped piece, ill just bend it back and call it good
Brent
Posted by: Bluegoose
Glad Christie is okay. I never get on my V-Force without putting a helmet on. I told Tyler it would cost him 30 days of no riding if I caught him on his KFX 400 without a helmet, so I put one on also. Now it feels funny to ride with out one, even when I ride one of the 4X4 to check cows.
Hope you guys that live in the Oklahoma City, Edmond, Choctaw and where it is major hailing are okay. We are sitting watching the news. Looks like it might come at us in a little while. I better get supper over with first.
Ronnie

Ronnie,
Yeah I was thinking the same about Lexington...I was there once for 89'er days. I talked to my uncle and he said he didnt think it would be too bad down at the depot. He said he might even ride.

Hey there....is anyone/everyone going to go to the Broken Spoke after the meeting???
As you all know I have been known to sit and BS a bit. If the meeting is at 5:30 is anyone planning on riding AFTER the meeting? I am thinking that I might have time to come home and pick up the qaud and then make it back down (even thoguh I work almost halfway to Purcell) in time. So if anyone plans on riding AFTER the meeting let me know and I may join ya.

Me and lonnie will be at the meeting, and if anyone wants to ride the flooded river we will bring our quads.
Brent
Posted by: Bobman
Oh yeah....I forgot about all the rain and they just got a lot more tonight. On second thought I may just leave my quad at home. Depends on water level come Saturday.
Posted by: bearaf
I'm still planning on riding as long as it isn't raining when I leave home!
Aaron
Posted by: trailride
Aaron
If your going to ride then ill ride. We wont beable to ride till about 5 or so. Lonnie gets off work at 3 then he will be at my house at 4 and its about an hour to lexington. See ya there
Brent
Posted by: td250r
What kind of riding is it on the river? Do you mainly ride in the river or surrouding trails? Ill be riding a Warrior, if I make it. Depends on the weather, and what time the baseball tournament I am coaching in gets done with. Does anybody have a cell phone I can reach them if I make it and cant find the place? PM me if you do. Thanks
Posted by: trailride
td250r
Most all of it is trails around the river, and some river riding if its not too flooded. I will be riding if its not raining, so will Aaron, and im sure others.
Bob could you give him your # i wont have a phone with me.
Brent
Posted by: Bobman
Brent,
I could give him my number but I will have a tough time making it there by 5:30. I will be coming strait form work. I really don't want to backtrack to OKC to get my quad so I will be coming strait from work. So it looks like no riding from me but I will be at the meeeting for sure.
I am jsut wondering if maybe we should move the meeting location back to the restaurant if it is raining. What do you guys think?
Bob
Posted by: trailride
Its not supposed to rain in the afternoon, just morning. But who knows. Yes if its raining id rather be inside
Brent
Posted by: trailride
Sorry guy's change of plans. Looks like i wont be able to make the meeting . Unexpected honey do ! Lonnie just called and he has to go to texas for a meeting, so he wont be able to go either. If anything changes ill be there.
Brent

My wife told me the only way we are going tomorrow is if its not raining. I'm planning on leaving around 12-1 weather permitting. I promised the next time I went riding I'd bring her so please don't rain I'll make sure and post If we headed that way and what time. If you want my cell #PM me and I'll give it to you so you can get a hold of me.

Am I the only one that left Prague with poison Ivy? Just wonderin
Posted by: trailride
Aaron
My wife gets it really bad, but this year we thought ahead and bought this stuff in a vile you take once a week for three weeks and it prevents it 100% for a year. So far it works good. Any pharmacy should have it its like 17 bucks. Cheap compared to the 100 $ hospital visit last year
Brent

I'm not sure....I have been itching there for years.BR>
Kidding, no poison ivy here.
Posted by: bearaf
I've been bleaching it..Thats always fun and smells good too!

I tried to tell everyone when Mrs Trailride (Christy I believe) Had her accident. we were all standing around and walking in Poisen Ivy. I am not alergic to it, Thank goodness.

Sad thing was I stayed away from it

Hey all, Its about 1:00 and Mike and I are heading that way for anyone else who is going this afternoon.
Aaron
Posted by: Bobman
Kevin...
Aaron, Mike and myself were talking this evening at the river and we have decided that we want to come ride at the river near your house sometime. We probably should wait until the water level is down a little but I am thiking it would be a good ride and a chance to ride in the city.
Bob

It was great to finally meet you all. I look forward to riding with you two in the near future.I really think we should introduce the rest of the group to the wonders of SE Oklahoma....Well wait taht could have a dual meaning ..hahaha. I mean the riding areas of SE Okalhoma..not the favorite cash crop.
Bob "I like the land of inbreeding" Bobman
Posted by: HavinSomeFun
Well lets ride on Sunday. The water level by my house is very low. It's different than anywhere else because of the dam. If the dam is closed the water is almost all gone. I rode for awhile today to try out some new tires. A little mud, a little sand and a whole lot of fun. If you want to climb stuff you can. If you want to jump stuff you can and etc. I will PM Bobman with my cell number.
Posted by: HavinSomeFun
Well, BEARAF came over today and we rode the river by my house. I had a blast!! Now someone else can tell you how it is, So you dont think I am just making it up!
It was such a nice day today that I feel everyone should have been out riding!
Posted by: bearaf
had a great time even when I threw my chain in the middle of the river! It is definately a good place to ride, there is something for everyone sand, trails, hills and jumps. I will sure ride out there more often. Thanks for the tour Kevin!
Aaron
(Nothing like getting out run by a Prairie!)

See, I didnt even tell them about our drag race!

I blame it on a loose chain!

I think Aaron has seen one too many biker movies or read one too many Hunter S. Thompson books, he is really quick to whip the chain off.

Sorry i didnt make it to the meeting guy's. After further inspection of the V force i now have to buy a rear hub and a front wheel. This is getting out of hand. A word to the wise dont flip your quad ! I also need a new belt for my 650 now. When it rains it pours.

I have been thinking about it if I could find someone else going.
Couldn't make the sat. meeting. Will try next time.

Would you be staying for the weekend or just Sat?
charlie
Posted by: Bluegoose
Raymond,
Where have you been? No I won't be able to make it this weekend. I probably will be going to Fort Worth to get the tranny for the sandrail. The are suppose to have it ready this week. I'm going as soon as I get the tranny back in and make a test run around here to get everything adjusted. The sand must be punished for making me break the last tranny.
I wish the rail was ready to go. This will be a 3 day weekend for me, since we didn't use any snow days. I didn't get my sand fix the last time I went. Two hours just aint enough!!!
Got to go. I have to be be in Oklahoma City by 8:00am. It's State FFA Convention time.
Ronnie

Charlie
I will be there Saturday and Sunday, I usually leave there on sunday around 2pm or so.
You are more than welcome to come and join us!
Ronnie
I've been laying low lately. I just go a set of ITP Sand Stars mounted along with the tracker fronts and im
going sand CRAZY waiting to try them out!!!!
Maybe I can catch you the next time you make a trip to the dunes!

You will love your Sandstars, we have them on the V and the worked great in the dunes. Not the best drag tire but a little of both worlds.

Raymond,
I will be going to LS Sat. morning. My son Chuck will be coming along. He has to be back Sun., so we will only be there Sat. I will be driving my white F350 ford dually towing a trailer with the quads. Will look for you there.
charlie

I will be driving a silver GMC sonoma 4x4 pulling a yellow trailer with a aluminum tool box mounted on it.
I'll be riding a white yfz 450 with nerf bars and my wife will be on a blue raptor with nerf bars also.
I should be pulling to LS around 9am Saturday.

Ronnie
Posted by: trailride
Ronnie
Her ride is almost done . Waiting on the hub and front wheel. All thats really left to do is bend the steering stem bracket back straight so the handlebars dont hit the seat anymore By the way , i would suggest bracing that upsidedown "U" shaped steering stem bracket. Its really easy to bend when it flips. Did yours stay straight when matt's girlfriend tore the plastic off of yours ? Could i ask a favor of you ronnie ? Could you measure from your steering stem (furthest most front point) to the black cowl hood (furthest rear point) and the distance between your tierod ends ( just the tierod itself) . This will vary between bikes but i need to get a close toein/out to go from.
Thanks Brent
Posted by: Bluegoose
Brent,
The steering stem measurement is 3 7/8". The tie rods measure 15 3/8" that is center of bolt to center of bolt.. Hope that is what you were asking for.I measured center to center because I have after market tie rods.. Mine are from JE Performance.

Guys,
The tranny is back in the sandrail. The motor fires up tonight. Anybody up for Little Sahara Saturday and Sunday? I have to go tune it up and learn to drive again. With a new computer chip and a close ratio tranny, I'm liable to hurt myself. Just hope there is no more repairs. I'm tried of working on things, I want to ride.
Let me know if you are going.

It's official. We are going to Little Sahara this Saturday and Sunday. The sandrail has came alive. Wow what a difference that chip and new tranny makes.
Raymond, just skip the high flying act and let's go ride some sand. Perfect weekend for sand riding. Hot and dry.
If anybody can make it let us know. We will ride all day Saturday and part of the night. Should be close to a full moon and that is great on the dunes. I wish this was Friday.

I us to ride alot at Red Bank 51 (I35 & 51) but i havent been there in a long time. The last time I rode there
it was like riding on a flat track because the dirt was so packed I was leaving black marks in all of the
corners from my tiers.

So what you are telling me is that you are going to wait till our biggest weekend at Sahara to finally pay us a visit? We ride at 99 about every other weekend but Memorial is one of our big trips to Sahara. Oh well, that's usually the way I guess. If anyone else wants to make a trip to 99 this summer, I would be happy to show you around. Happy Riding.

directions how to get there. If I remember right from the gas station 99 you make a left turn then a right turn
then you make five left turns then you make four right turns and his house is on the west side of the road. Its
easy to find once you've been there a time or two!

That will be a good one. A swamp on top of a hill. Well it was kinda swampy when we had that pipeline oill leak. Boy talk about black land farm.
Good one Aaron, now he lives in Ada. Raymond forgot to mention the turn where the coyote is hanging on the fence.
Okay guys. You all missed one of the best weekends at Little Sahara. Virgin sand, not many people and hot and dry and we didn't even break anything. What else can I say but it was fun. Hated to come home and go to work. Got to see a $70,000 buggy wreck. He almost went end for end. Newby driver with to much power. It will cost him plenty to get it fixed. Not good when you bend chromoly a-arms.
If you guys party at my house while I'm gone. Just put the black dog in his pen first, he's not crazy about crowds. What temperature do you guys want the swimming pool, set at????? Nothing like a dip in the pool after a long day of riding the river. Dang, I need a long river ride.

Is anyone gonna be riding this wekend. Me and a couple of friends are looking for some people to ride with. He has some 4x4 ATV I think... it's like a 250 or 300, I have a Predator 500, and my other friend has a dirt bike. We kinda got one of each.. haha.... anyway, just thought I would see if anyone is gonna be riding somewhere that we can all ride together. Thanks.
Tyler
Posted by: Bobman
Tyler, any other weekend I would be able to say yes but this weekend I am going out of Town to the DFW area.
Posted by: WildRaptor911
Aaron
My ride at the track Sunday was great, the track that I rode on was'nt all that radical but there where a few
jumps that you could get some good air time on. I got in a five lap race with a Predator (full motocrosser) and the
first lap I was leading by 10 bikes the second lap I was up 15 bikes on the guy well to make this short at the end
of the fift lap I was leading by over 100 yards. He was just a little pist that a stock yammy 450 beat his $11,000
MX bike!
Ronnie
Glad to hear that you did'nt break anything. How well did the buggy do with all the changes that you made on it?
Dang, I forgot about the coyote but I do remember that crazy dog.
Posted by: TyShark9
lol... sounds like a good race. I'm looking for somewhere to ride that is good for a novice. I haven't road a quad in a few years. so I will probably kill myself with my pred. haha if anyone has any good ideas where there might be a few good jumps and not too much traffic, let me know. I gotta get used to riding a quad again. Thanks.
Tyler
Posted by: bearaf
I think I would have tried to trade you straight across right then and there! You'll have to let me know the next time you go out there. That place looks like fun. Did you ride any of the trails?
Posted by: WildRaptor911
Tyler
This is a good track for a novice (like myself) there are two tracks one is mild and the other is alittle to wild for me.
There are trails also, they said there is around seven miles of trails.
Aaron
I rode about four miles of the trails they are simular to draper but better because there not nearly as rutted out.
I was thinking about going agin this Sunday but that depends on how much rain we get this week.
The track and trails are great for any type sport quad.
Raymond
Posted by: TyShark9
Hey Raymond.
Where is that track located? I think I will go out there this weekend. Hopefully my friends will want to go too.
Tyler
Posted by: Bluegoose
Raymond,
It runs so different that I'm having to learn to drive the thing again. Too much throttle at the wrong time at the top of a dune is not a good thing. BJ keeps telling me that it does not have wings, therefore it must not be meant to fly. It definately runs better. Third and fourth gears is where I really notice the changes. Third is where upper second was and fourth is what was 3rd gear. Alot closer and alot
quicker.
Gotta love our toys!

The track is located a few miles east of Wellston. This web sight can tell you right where it is www.motorsportnews.com.
Just click where it says PLAY DAYS and it gives the directions to the track.
More quads=more fun!
I think you will like this track and it might even be alot of fun on a 4x4 I know the trails would be.

It sounds like thats just what a big 4 seater needs, that close ratio tranny should be ideal for the dunes.
The way it looks right now I may be going to the southeastern part of the state for the Memorial day weekend.

Tyler,
May I suggest you slow down and smell the roses. Your grandparents won't always be around and then you will wish you had spent more time with them.

Did any of you all watch the CBS Evening News? I usually do not watch CBS as they are usually a little left of center for my tastes but that is a different story. I intentionally watched their program this evening because they had advertised a spot on ATV's and safety. Well I tuned in and watched their segment and I will say that it was quite balanced and represented concerns from both sides arguing the point, that being about children riding ATV's.
It was not the representation of ATV's in the media that irritated me but rather it was that of the attitude projected by a couple in Oregon who had a child that was killed while riding his ATV. The child was 10 years old and was riding an Arctic Cat that looked like a 400 if I were to guess. Not only was the child unsupervised, but the parents were not even at home. The parents first blamed the government because and I quote "If there had been a law against children under 16 riding these things our child would be alive today." They then went on to blame the dealer that sold them the machine saying "I can not believe he would sell us anything that would be that dangerous."
So the parents have blamed the government and the dealer. Hmmmm.....who else could be responsible for the set of circumstances that led to the death of their child? Could it be the parents who paid for the machine? Could it be the parents who routinely allowed the child to ride unsupervised (but he did have on a helmet)? Could it be the parents who were not even home when the child had the accident (we are talking about a 10 year old home alone regardless of ATV usage)? Then to close out the segment it shows the kid's tombstone and on the tombstone is a picture of an ATV. These parents knew the child rode the quad all the time yet they never thought to worry that he might be misusing the thing. The thing that annoyed me the most however was the fact that they blamed EVERYONE except themselves. I guess that is indicative of someone who is not responsible enough to monitor and control the acts of their child, apparently they feel that was the role of the goverment or the dealer or someone else.
Anyway to finally get to my point, tomorrow evening they are supposed to have a follow up segment with hidden cameras allegedlly showing dealers trying to talk parents into buying quads for their kids or somethign to that extent. I think it will be interesting to see. I am not a parent so I am really hesitant to cast aspersions on the way others raise their children. But even a semi-intelligent fatman from Del City would have the forsight to go so far as to remove the spark plug form my son's quad if I could not keep him from riding it without adult supervision.
Bob "Like ALL aspects of life, quad safety is matter of common sense and descretion" Bobman
P.S. I don't wear a helmet....but I accept all responsibilities for any damages sustained to my empty noggin.

Sorry Ronnie, just got your post. I was already gone. We left right around 12:30 today. The river was way down. There were all sorts of trucks and quads out there on Sat and driving down the river last night. The Sheriff made a few trips out there yesterday, someone had stolen a car and taken it down on the river and burned it. All in all it was a lot of fun.
